I would have loved to play on Pre-CU servers again, but that was 4 years ago. SOE has burned so many bridges since then they can never expect to win back their old player-base. That means they would have to target players that do not know their history of screwing up excellent games, (EQ, SWG, VG) and honestly why would a new player want to start out on a 6 year old game that lacks the polish of newer games? www.agonysend.org |

They'll offer pre-cu or pre nge servers at the exact moment in time when it would make the least amount of money. If they do, expect around the same time in its life when EQ got whatever theirs' is called. When they think they're done with the current game, nothing else to add or change other than more of the same. If it's still around. I guess at that point they let the devs do whatever they want or something. Or maybe the emu will go live, and they won't bother. I'd play it, but I dont really care if they ever do. Pre-cu being thrown at TOR? SOE doesnt have the balls, or the approval. If anything, SMED will /lick TOR in every interview he possibly can. Don't want to endanger losing LA games on ps3 or ps4, whatever one they're on now. Also, It wouldn't do or accomplish anything. Maybe good for some laughs by some people.

Maybe they can work together. Yeah. TOR can contain a Disgruntled Veteran class,,,,where all your avatar does is play Pre-CU at his home on <pick your favorite...non exploded....planet>...yes..a quaint little gaming experience in a galaxy longer ago and far far away....meant to be in its future..but looking more like its past. |

This. If there is one thing that SOE has beaten Blizzard at it's the art of pissing customers off and burning through player bases. But then again WoW probably has more players quit in a month (to be replaced by others) than SOE has TOTAL players across all their games. I see the closing of MXO as the first step in the inevitable closing down of the rest of SOE.

Wouldn't make a difference sure it would bring back a few players, mainly crafters. But w/out pvp'ers and hunters not much demand for those craftables. |

the only thing worth saving from the pre cu was the class system. People would go back today and play for 2 weeks and realize how bad the game really was and then quit because of how bad the game is by todays standards for mmo's. |

What a short-sighted and misthought post. A pre-cu SWG server would only bring back the thousand or so SWG 'veterans' that have taken on moaning about how good SWG used to be and how SOE robbed them of their life meaning.
I am an SWG vet and would not resubscribe if they made pre-cu server right now. The fact is, there are better games out there at the moment, SWG in ints original form would be severely out-dated and simply not competitive enough to bring in enough new players to warrant such a change. |

the PreCU combat system would certainly make the current game more tolerable, but it won't bring enough players to SWG to make it matter. SWG is finally going to bring in BattleFields. The people that are still playing the game are pretty excited about it, but that's just because 1) it's new content to the game and 2) after 5 years, they are finally getting a feature that has been in other games since they launched. There aren't enough players in SWG for any changes to make much of an impact there.

Official pre-cu servers will never happen, period. Think about it logically. In its heyday, SWG had 300-400k accounts, being generous? Quite good for the time (pre-WoW), but even if all those people returned (which they wouldn't) and even if they all bought multiple accounts (which they wouldn't), that's still less than a million subs, and as has been pointed out before, the current SWG dev team doesn't have the knowledge or manpower to maintain the old code in a profitable fashion. It simply won't ever happen, ever. Even if it did, which would you rather play, an SOE classic server, or a classic server run by actual SW fans and featuring the ability to customize the game experience to your liking (and sans subscription fee)? There is a greater chance of George Lucas admitting that the prequels sucked, re-making them into something quality, and personally distributing new autographed box sets to the front door of every Star Wars fan on the planet (while begging for their eternal forgiveness) than there is of SOE doing a pre-cu SWG server. |

9-10,000 subscribers playing SWG is hardly a competitor or threat to TOR, which will probably LOSE more subscribers in it's first month than the NGE game has. I suspect that the shutdown will be SOE's choice, and the only thing keeping it open are the few hundred fanbois who are going nuts buying TCG lottery tickets by the dozen. That will dry up when TOR releases.

I am done with SOE and so are most of the people who left SWG. BioWare is alreadu kicking SOE's ass and Pre CU will make no differnce. I prefer the E---M__U* over SOE anyday for Pre CU. |
