It's really the EQ mold copied but dumbdown, but yeah since most mmos are solo and dumb down I can see why you say its the WoW flavor.

I mean, us guys can find it in oldschool games (like Mir) and in Darkfall. And I'm quite happy with what I have right now personally.

When I'm looking an an MMO that I'm thinking of playing, if it has instancing in it, that'll be me put off.

You can make level 5 soloing in EQ, if your gaming skills are somewhat below that of a five year old

My daughter was progressing a little farther than that by five. 8P

Personally, I've soloed to level cap on quite a few classes, never had any real issues. You just have to know how to play each class. NOT being ADD really helps, poor Timmy never really made it past mid-level in Everquest.

MMOs were fun when the concept was new.....it isn't anymore.

It's the newness everyone misses. It's  not really the games.

mmos are the past lol theres a stupid statement if ever i heard one . if anything mmos are more popular now than they have ever been because of warcraft . the games we see now are a little limited in what they can offer . like anything else they will continue to improve and become more and more complex in what they offer .the mmos of tomorrow with make the mmos of today look like pac man .

The problem with this topic is that all the games people talk about wishing the new mmo's were like are still out. EQ and UO are still out. If games like that are what you like and wish the new ones were like then just go and play those said games. Just seems so simple to me.

But they need newer shinier graphics, then in the same breath say graphics don't matter=)  They say they want a new game, then in the same breath want all the same ol tired and forgotten systems in MMOs, circa 1998.  So, they really don't want a new game.  They want the FEELING of their old games and haven't come to grips with reality...that FEELING is NEVER going to return.   Be mature about it and just face the truth already.
