while a formation without exorcist is still viable in higher div, a formation without monk is not. you could still get away without monk in lower div, but at high division most of the player already mastered the basic of pvp. thus at 3rd turn one of ur merc will get stunned. and if ur opponent build is a stun build another 4 merc will be stunned at 4th turn and that will leave u with only 4 merc to play. depending on awakening scroll to cover for monk absence might buy you a few turn, that if you can successfully pull it off. plus we are limited to only 2 scroll per match in pvp. however, there another mode of pvp, auto battle. in this mode you can only control your main char and the rest of ur merc will be controlled by AI, the same goes for your opponent. in auto battle mode monk is not necessary, so u can play a build without exo or/and monk and still get to division 1. |

Using the word tactical to discuss combat in this game is a misnomer. You can't have tactics without movement and piece movement is so limited as to be hardly a factor. |
