I watched the video in the link.  Exactly at what point of it did you see 1,000 or more people Javac?  Or were you watching some movie other then what is from the link above?

 

hal'kali (vindicators) was sieged late saturday night.  it was a pretty big battle, probably about 100 players total.  maybe 60-70 players actually at the city at any given time.

 

anyone talking about 1000 players in a battle in darkfall - is well, REAL bad at math.

Nah... I've come to the conclusion that rabid Darkfall fans have their own special, "Tasos Arithmetic". Take the actual number, and multiply it by 10. So, if there's 10,  they'll say it was 100. If there's 100, they'll say it was 1,000... and so on.

Person A: "Wow... there must be 120 people here..."
Person B (describing it later): "There was PvP with 1200 people!"

u can ask goons for system chat logs to get the exact numbers

um...   it wasn't anywhere near 1,000 people.

i dont know the only way to get numbers is to check all system log from defenders then run a script to clear the log get all players name that got in the city and add defenders numbers

 

so if you want to do it you can do that untill then is just pure crap words vs words

i can't be assed to look thru any bloody chat logs.  it's educated words (from someone that was there) vs your guesstimates of words based upon a video, which CLEARLY shows nowhere near 1000 people.

I've been noticing that odd "math" also - I haven't seen a battle with more than 150 players max ( and I'm being generous there, it was likely less ) yet I continue to see post after post about battles with "several hundred players".

Sorry, I'm not seeing it, and the constant exaggerations get old.

Nowhere in my post did I state that there were thousands of people involved in the siege. The numbers were only there to demonstrate the disproportions between the two sides and how crappy of an alliance cotc is, considering they have to ally with the second biggest alliance to fight one of the smallest alliances on the server. So aside from the fact that you're not very good at "maths and logic" yourself, and you clearly lack the reading comprehension skills necessary to reply in a coherent manner, you have to be one of the thickest goons out there (and that's saying something) since it takes so little to send you on a posting spree. you got the numbers - you bring them.... you can hire mercs - you bring them... you can bring the ENTIRE server against FIVE people -- you bring them.   it's how the game is meant to be played... otherwise, mechanics would be hella different.

Everytime I type something in this forum it just gets thrown away and a troll just starts telling how Darkfall sucks and there is no strategy or skill in sieges. I'm not going to explain much because of that fact and I'm busy right now training my archery :).

Here is my response to various people, too lazy to quote because this is wasting my time ingame.

First of all if you were a new player going against any of those people participating in the siege you would get your arse kicked because you have no personal skill in the game. It takes a long time in order to get good and feel comfortable pvping in terms of aiming, jump shooting, strafing, using spells to replenish your hp/stam/mana, knowing when to use those spells, and lots of tactics can be developed as you progress in the game. The afghan alliance have proven it since they still manage to nearly destroy their enemies even if outnumbered 2 - 3X. Don't spill bs if you can't back it up - to the person who claimed that DF does not need skill.

Also that was only the viewpoint of the one side if you would read the youtube description which you obviously didn't. There were multiple battles going on around the city. To the south were the mercs, rainbow ninjas, hail, covert ops, and some others. To the north, SB alliance got inside the city and hid inside the buildings and eventually took over the waterfall.

After they took it, some Mercs set up cannons as a last attempt to win the siege on the waterfall and shot down at the bindstone. However, one of our allies put up a cannon in one of the buildings and started shooting at the cannons that Mercs put up. This stopped them from destroying our bindstone

There were numerous examples but please don't sputter bullshit if you don't actually play the game and only listen to trolls.

Strategy was involved for the attackers and the defenders if you would just read. It proves that you guys just sputter bs all the time no matter what evidence is presented to you.

Instead of being complete idiots, why don't you trollers and hater or anti-dfers actually go on DF forums and put up threads suggesting to them how they could change their game and not just waste your time flaming and insult a game that a company worked hard on in order to create a different type of game for a different group of gamers.

I'm sick and tired of troll whiners can't we all just get along and discuss this game without insulting it every second? I tried but I can't do it. I would be the only one along with a few other people but insulters would still outnumber us.

I apologize, wyrdaskolir.  Your initial post was well written.  I shouldn't have quoted javac's post and just ignored it.  The whole thing sounded interesting from what you wrote.  Glad you enjoyed yourself.  Maybe things will go differently in the next siege.  Good luck.

Over 1600 people in cotc + 1300 in dusk + 400 in kfc + sn vs. 150 in afghanistan + let's genereously say, 150 in co/mh + a few poeple from sb alliance, but hell, let's say the whole 590 people big sb alliance came to fight. That's ~3300 vs. ~890. um, yes, you are saying THOUSANDS involved in a fight... which is why it's 3300 vs 890.  

You had double the numbers before you decided to ally the second largest alliance on the server and kfc. You outnumbered the whole attacking force 3:1 (at least), and yet failed to defend one of your cities and almost lost MS as well.  outnumbered 3:1... you gave numbers a little above, yup you saying thousands again... GO TROLL SOMEWHERE ELSE... WE DARKFALL PLAYERS ARE TIRED OF FAILTROLL POSTERIFICATIONINGS...

Not meant as a whine or anything,so stop whining and QQing then

just setting your story straight by pointing out thousands involved?  if not, then WTF are you QQing about?

and adding a little bit more detail. Watching you get your crap stolen from the bank, get your people kicked from the guild by a spy, desperately ally the whole server in hopes of saving a bunch of pixels was enough of a reward for me. Thanks. i'm laughing even harder at your post not far above the reply i'm creating here...

Dont believe OP he is goon and they where with half server, agfhan had only 200.

Goons always say they hate zerg in darkfall but they always lie and they are the biggest zerg in darkfall there is.

OP...a well written review and as one that was personally involved in. . .in such a large player against player mmo experience where the outcome could have gone either way, it was the most fun I've have in my mmo game-play since 1997-1999 UO time.

Well executed siege and defended...kudos to both sides.

They have removed about 400 players from their roster either through removing clans or in active players. Once Afghan attacked them, they pushed the breaks to war with Afghan. Not justifying it, not taking their side that is just what happened. Read my overview of the build up... wait you probably have ;)

It is amazing at the effort that a minority of haters will go to to disenfranchise a game, that I'd admit has flaws, but that is such a fresh departure from what I think is so stale in non-player centric mmo's.  But i cant help to liken this to socially irrisponsible predjuces that permiates many real-life situations.
