Want to kill  a few hours with repetative casting  in the most linear game you ever played...this is it. Ok...so what else is bad about the game.....no ingame GM's to fix problems....no in game AH...no email...no item trading...no crafting...no item drop itemization....forced grouping......restricted game play areas.....tech support via email only.So much negativity you say....well ...perhaps  I don't fit the          demographic for this game.Have short attention span....need directive environment.....this may be your nirvana.

Actually, I found Wizard101 to be a refreshing change of pace from typical MMOs. The fact that it's based strongly in collectible card game mechanics and turn based strategy are just two of the things I really dig about it.

This is a game developed for children mostly, you thought you will find AH or crafting in such a game?

I enjoy it, especially pvp :)

It's not ideal, but it's better than 95% of other ''mature'' mmos out there imo

I, too, would love to see some more mature MMO features in Wizard101, but it's a great game regardless.  As far as kid's MMOs go, Wizard101 is at the top of my list, especially since it's so fun for adults, even those without kids. Yes, it's quest driven and very linear, but it has a great backstory and the NPCs have a lot of character. As for being mindless? Not at all.  Like any MMO, the entry level skills/spells are limited, but as you progess through Wizard101's worlds and level up there are quite a few options for strategy:

  • Primary/Secondary school selection
  • Deck building
  • Ancillary spell management (wands, amulets, pets, etc...)
  • Adapting to ever changing group dynamics
  • Battle Order (who gets to attack first) - you can't control it, but it can definitely influence your battle decisions and chances to win)
  • Fizzles

Irrespective of the story-driven quest grinding, there's also arena-based PvP, which can be very fun and there's the new player housing system.  There's also badge/title hunting, which is something a lot of players enjoy, as well as limited edition collectors items through the cash shop and holiday quests.

The game was fun during beta, fun at launch and continues to get better with every patch.  It's only been out since last fall, they've had two million unique players subscribe, they've added a lot of content and fluff and it's only going to get better.

What I don't get is why you're trolling the Wizard101 forum?   You've already made a thread, with pretty much the same arguments,  about how you wouldn't recommend the game.  Now, you've created another thread saying the same thing.  You don't have anything better to do than to troll the forums for a kid's game?  That's pathetic.

Damn fizzles...you notice how they always seem to come on a four pip spell that should finish off the baddie, because you forgot or ran out of accuracy cards?
