I'll bite.

Put in a skill system with caps. Players need to make choices on what skills they want, no one should be able to max all skills. Having everyone the same is no fun.

Add skills of a wider variety, so people can make roles for themselves, even in a game such as this, some players would like to make a class type character to play, such as thief/scout, Battle Priest etc. Adding bonuses for specializing in one area.

If you wear plated armor a major penalty should be given to casting magic.  As it stands now there really is no penalty.

Add damage penalties. As you get wounded, your movements running, casting, slashing etc. should slow down.

Change the swimming mechanics, you cannot swim with weapons deployed, How lame.

Make the full loot mechanism mean something. Running naked should have a penalty, where you take 4X the damage or something similar so players won't want to run around naked.

Remove bindstone calling, you should only go to the bindstone if you die.

Add in a weight burdens. If you are wearing full armor and have a full backpack you should not be able to run as fast as someone in a robe and nothing in their backpack.

Have the ability to turn tower weapons into the cities. As they stand now they can only shoot out. Ruining a great dynamic for the spies in the clan to use the waepon on that city.

Change the way cities and hamlets are made. They should be able to be placed where the clans want them. Not static locations.

Add in player made merchant locations in the main cities and player made.

Remove the world banking system. Also change the resources so that their are different ones for each race, to force player trading. This will help the economy.

Place more npc's in the main cities so they look alive,

Place wildlife in the game to make it look alive.

Change the game to be server side, not client side to lower the hackers ability. Will it stop it? probably not, but could slow it down.

Have Tasos and the fanbois, stop lying about what is in game and what is not.

Have the web page updated.

These are a few of the things I think the game needs to make me want to play it.

That being said what are YOUR suggestions on the future patches/expansions  that DF should do.

Fix the site so its not in beta.

release more than one server.

sell the game properly.

add more direction attacks, more abilities which are useful to mele and range.

I can think of so many things in terms of updating gfx/animations.

Shut down the servers and file a class action suit against Av.

I don't care how much they fix up thier game.

They double bill.
They cancel accounts after a month and demand people repurchase an account; even after they've paid and thier banks have verified payment.
They bill prior to the completion of a billing cycle.

They're still doing this after 3 months; there is no way in hell you can't get your account services in line after that amount of time.
The company is run by a crook who is stealing money from people.

I think this is off topic especially the MO hate....if you want to argue i'm right here little guy, no problemski

the whole "go on argue...you wont win" tough guy routine is not only overplayed, but exposes the real insecure person thats actually doing all the typing(which is you of course). Thats some bad estimating though because last i checked im still Anti-DF hater #1 and i have only seen the game being played by a friend of mine..never touched it myself. as for future developement...well you are looking at it. More junk inserted in the game, complete with tacos trying to snipe off anyone that gives it less than a 10/10. to me its -1.5 million/10 id like to see him come argue it with me.

I played it.

I wouldn't even give it a rating.
Instead I highly suggest that people don't play the game, and that Av should be sued for thier billing practices.

This is a pretty good list.  I didn't see anything on there that I am completely against.

I especially think the things that actually encumber a player should be addressed.  As was stated above, someone running around in plate should not be as agile as someone in leather ...... in any respect ........ running, casting, riding, fighting should all take a hit.  The naked player however, should be incredibly squishy.

You can attacked while in water. These needs to be balanced by being able to equip and shoot while in water.

A naked player is already in disadvantage damage wise. Make the gap between naked and armored is a discussion worth.

Remove bindstone calling, you should only go to the bindstone if you die.

No biggie really. I don't care either if its available or not.

Add in a weight burdens. If you are wearing full armor and have a full backpack you should not be able to run as fast as someone in a robe and nothing in their backpack.

So ranged chars kite the hell out of anyone wears good armor.  Not that ranged guys have already big advantage. Leads again to build of classes through backdoor.

weight on backpack is worth a discussion.

Kill the people who put effort into building up defense with their own defense ?  If that is meant then bad idea.

Generally i don't think they would lead to a better game. Just one idea i would agree without further thinking, that about wounds. A step to classes is a wrong step. The might be other suggestions more substantial that fit Darkfall.

weight on backpack is worth a discussion.

Well, that can actually be balanced also.

But IRL walking in a full armor is heavy work, if you ever spent a day in one you know what I am talking about. On the other hand, I wouldn't want to get into battle without one because it takes only one cut or stab to either kill or at least hurt a person without armor badly, while you can spend 30 minutes hitting someone in real plate.

Real knights have a horse and lance evening out the odds, problem is that longbow men can get thru their armor on a good hit. On the other hand they need a good hit so I prefer being the knight in that scenario anyways.

MMO devs don't know how much incredibly better you get in a real armor but it of course have it's disadvantages also. If you put in movement penalties you just have to balance up that by making the armor better like it actually is. Unless someone have a black powder gun of course, then you are screwed. Pikes are also annoying if you are on a horse.

Well, that can actually be balanced also.

But IRL walking in a full armor is heavy work, if you ever spent a day in one you know what I am talking about. On the other hand, I wouldn't want to get into battle without one because it takes only one cut or stab to either kill or at least hurt a person without armor badly, while you can spend 30 minutes hitting someone in real plate.

While all of that is true, range will always have the advantage. And I think you can never truly balance melee vs. ranged on a one vs. one scale, because unless every melee player has a horse with mounted combat being possible (which, of course, ranged people would consider OP), they will eventually die from ranged fire.

It's only balanced in real life because battles were never 1 vs. 1, 12 vs. 12, or even 100 vs. 100. If you have a line of several hundred infantry advancing towards an enemy that's shooting at you, many of your men will die. Quality of armor determines how many, but still, it's only balanced when there are massive numbers. Even if you lose a third of your men in that group, they will be able to advance to the ranged enemy and cut them down (because ranged should definitely be very weak against melee).

Class balance is tricky - no kidding. If we want realistic combat, big battles, we'll have to get used to dying, teamwork, etc. Of course, that goes against the whole mentality of an RPG - having YOUR character. And it'll undoubtedly bring up complaints of "LOL no Death Penalty, I'm too much of a masochist to play this noob game!"

Anyways, those are just my thoughts. This whole thread is quite rediculous, I've only seen one "valid" response so far, but some funny pictures.
