Sorry to say but it looks like DF is going to die. The had the shop open for 2-3 days now(?) and a few weeks back it would sell out in the span of 5-8 minutes. People are leaving ...people are not buying ......meh
Lets hope another company buys this game out. |

To the best of my knoweldge, the store has been open continuously since Tasos announced it midday Wednesday, US time zones. I've played through a few short sessions since that happened and I've still yet to see more than 20 total players in or around Akathos. There do appear to be new players, but I've yet to see any significant numbers. At most, I've seen 3-4 other playrs at the hard goblin spawn, 1 - 2 at the scout spawn by the beach. I haven't witnessed any significant influx of new players, whatsoever. Maybe I should delete my char and create others so I can check out the other starter cities, too... ~Ripper |

Sure, Prefect world have a lot more. But it is an unfair comparison, that is true. DF should be compared to Vanguard or something smaller game instead. But Avi do have handled the release badly and lost a lot of potential customers on it, I never heard of a game that released in this way before. True that Spellborn released in EU first and Wow for that matter in Us but to only open up one server and only sell a limited account at certain hours? That sounds more like U2s concert tickets than a computer game. It is however very possible that they had a 100K waiting in line at releaseand not so many interested now, the reviews havnt been that great (I seen 2/10 and 4/10 so far) and most of the forum posts are not that good. Also more than a few players tried it and either decided to wait until they fix the release problems with the game or didn't like it. They need to open up a free trial so people can try the game, and that of course means that they will have to open up more servers or offer a limited numbers of trials every 1 or 2 weeks depending on how long the trial is. Avi have themselves said that everyone wont like this game, it is for a specific kind of playerbase and that makes a trial a lot more important. They must get more players into the game or they might as well close down. They could also lower the price or give away the game with a one week free play, and then make the players who like it start paying monthly fees, they would still earn more money on that in the long run. This game must have 100K players or so in a few months, or at least min 60K, or they just will lose more and more money. It costs to have a MMO running, and to have people adding content and fixing buggs (the last thing actually costs more). As I see it is some kind of trial the only cheap way to get more players fast. |

Well that is sad to hear. I was hoping there would be a significant increase. It would be the only way I would buy the game to try it out. I really don't want to feel like I wasted money on a game with a stagnent or declining population. Well I'll give it a couple more months to see what happens. |

If the queues were so the login could cope, there wouldnt have been a limit to in game players, there wouldnt be a need to limit sales. quite honestly it shouldnt take over an hour to log in, do you understand that part. so mr forum poster for urine again must be lieing about something.
sony come on do your thing, buy this game off of the pos devs, put a team who atleast knows wtf an mmo is in charge and get cracking on the cheaters. with you know, some kind of anti hack mecanism OH WAIT ITS CLIENT SIDE DUH YOU CANT PROTECT THE DATA
I wish this game was good, the concept is awesome, its excution is fail far beyond words normally used to describe fail :(
Hell the only thing soe can offer is deep pockets, name me one game that is better off for being run by soe with the exception of those that would have closed down without their backing. Matrix online is no different than when they bought it Vanguard is getting better but it is still run by the same people who created it so it's not as if the input of soe made a difference there. |

The game was entertaining for a month or so...then it became more and more mundane and boring. Now people are quitting and the game still is a huge pile of doo. The game is dying and sadly i'm not sure if AV has the will or resources to turn it around. |

If you aren't gonna bother explaining why then what's the point of posting as some like me have no clue of what you are talking about. From what I know a vast majority (myself included) focus mostly on pve which from what anyone who plays or played this game know is totally lacking, now it's one thing if you can point out a single article where they acknowledge the games strong point is pvp and that fixes are in the works but most people who aren't happy with this piece of vaporware are usually told we just aren't hardcore enough for the game and that it is not made for "us" that's the sentiment from both the current player base and the devs. Dude this game has absolutely no lore to speak of just a few generic races that hate each other for who knows why and not a plot in sight as has been shoved down our throats numerous times "the fun is in the politics" hell I can play mafia wars for free if I just wanted to back and forth pretend like I'm at war with something. |

As you noted in my Clan Count post, the clan count hasn't increased significantly in the last week, even though the store has been open for a week. There are still people who want to buy the game, but it's obvious they aren't lining up for it anymore. The starter zone I'm in still has a very, very small population. As for the game itself, I've posted long detailed thoughts and experiences. In a nutshell, there definitely are fun aspects, but the game, as a whole, needs a lot of work. I feel that it's closed beta quality, at base. I explicitly say "closed", because an open beta game should essentially be the gold candidate for release and I don't feel Darkfall is release ready. Personally, I wouldn't recommend buying it. ~Ripper |

Yes you provided false information. You posted that the servers were empty and I pointed out that you were incorrect. Using your numbers, 10k people on one server is not what I would consider empty. Again you are only counting players in clans and leaving out all of us that haven't joined one yet. Maybe we have different definitions of what a crowded area is but when I go to each of the camps outside a starting city and 5-10 players are fighting over the 5 mobs that spawn there, I would say it's crowded. If each race(6) has 3 starter towns and those 18 towns are surrounded by multiple camps with 5-10 people in each one, again I would say those areas are far from empty. Could DF benefit from more people? Yes! Are you doing anything to help the DF gaming community by spreading false information? No!
Where's Tasos? It's his job ultimately to do something to help the DF community not anyone on these boards. I've read posts like this before and it's always in games floundering AOC,Vanguard,WAR etc. but truth be told I think this game is in much worse shape than any of the ones I mentioned above some have the financial backing to improve and most if not all are not as devoid of content as this game and the only one who had a dev less appealing than tasos got rid of him Guate anyone? Within 2 months Tasos will be replaced in the hopes of keeping this game running for another month or two but as I stated this company doesn't have the financial backing funcom does so I doubt it will make much of a difference. This train wreck is highly likely coming to a tragic end much sooner than later. One question people look at this game as it is currently and then please logically explain to us non believers what in the blue hell have they been doing for the past ten years? |
