Well I can not give an answer cause so people had so many characters. You could not keep contact or maintain binding bonds with other players. WoW is like a brothle GAME it doesn't matter who you sleep with. Cause no one cares. Well, I haven't played WoW sense its first expansion.
3rd: I play other MMO's for 6 years. I have much better experiance with other MMO's. And WoW wasn't a game that grew on good game play. It grew on Media Hype, and grabbing an audiance that appealed to Shoot Em up Games. Studies show this time and time again. Hence, the reason why that Shoot em Up MMO is comming out what ever its called. Grew from the studies of WoW. Honestly, People who play this style of game clearly don't care about Character Development. Nore do they care about building Strong Character Ties with other peoples Avitars.
I strongly urge people to play many vast amount of MMO's to find one that suits you. Thankyou For your time.

It always gets me when a WoW hater posts how he played WoW for 2+ yrs and talks about how much it sucks.  YOU PLAYED IT FOR YEARS!  It kept your interest and you loved/hated it enough to play it for that long.  Any game you play is going to get boring after a while.  Its natural.  No reason to get on the hate train and start bad mouthing ppl that still like it.  At least one poster I read was honest and said he hates WoW because its a "game for the masses" and he prefers games not many ppl play.  Most players that post here want that elitist feeling, like they know something or are just different from all the other mmorpg'ers.  In real life they cut themselves, wear eyeliner and a lot of black.

C'mon, you played two years? I only played 18 months before i grew tired of it, but I won't deny that when I was playing I really enjoyed it.

And that was a good run, so far only DAOC was a longer run for me, about 2.5 years total. (not uniteruppted)

OP played 6 years on same game?  There's something seriously wrong with playing any game that long, you are just missing out on the all the fun new games have to offer.

Every game has its day and some of us decide to move on, while others remain to keep playing.'

WOW makes many people happy and keep paying their subs...what else can you ask for?

You stated you played WoW for 2 years. There must have been SOMETHING good about it to keep playing it for that amount of time?

WoW became big simply because it had a bit of everything. Appeal to the masses, so to speak.

Also, I can't possibly comprehend how WoW would appeal to Shoot-em-up gamers? It isn't a shoot-em-up game after all?
