I'd agree that westernisation changes will probably just fluff, they 'may' do a change to the XP Curve, but I'm not botherd about that.
Point is, I think we can all agree that they wont alter the AI behind the raid's just for the west. Since its been out for so long in Korea already there must surly be someone out there who has done a max level raid who can say what the experience was like? |

So here you go again, in case you didn't catch this and it's now months later and all I did was make a correct statement, and you had to get on your high horse that just shattered:
To answer the original post in this thread: We will do what we think is necessary at this point. We will use the improvements that come with the patching and continued development of the game and match this up with things we've noticed need to be adapted to the western audience through our beta events. Some of the things you list in your post come down to personal preference, while others are just nice improvements that would benefit all Aion territories and not only us here in the west. Bear with us as we're simply trying to as much as we can, as soon as we can. This could mean both larger changes (character voices) or smaller changes (default templates in character creation, inverse mouse view). Steakplisken |

Since you are so certain that changing loot, XP tables doesn't constitute a change to core gameplay I assume you have a post from Ayase, Amboss, or Liv stating they will be changed. Of course you don't you want to quibble over the definition of "core". If you want to believe the worst, then fine by me. Although I find it odd that everytime a CM has made a post about localization, they have repeatedly said it includes only flavor items, making quests more "western" in their meaning, changing the language pack and things on the back end (CS and billing). In the post I linked they stated that they wouldn't even change the names of quest givers / deava lords. As for grinding, it will be easier in the NA/EU than china (currently) because we will start with patch 1.2 (live in Korea). This patch made many tweaks to quest XP and added quite a few mid-level quests. I can't make you believe what you refuse to. All I can do is try to counter the BS that seems to spawn on this site. There will be no major change to XP, loot, or anything even remotely related to core gameplay. Don't take my words for it, take the CM's.
Here you go know it all. I forgot. You work in the MMO industry, right?

Aion wont have DBM/Bigwigs nor Omen so that makes the boss encounters in AIon already more random |

Can you post a link of this pls, even if in Chinese? Everything I've read from Devs state the opposite.
The game is not so different to what we've seen from the west, what they are doing with the betas is gathering feedback regarding what we want for the game, so far, in 1.5, they added left mouse camera turning, 4 non asian facial textures more, some new hairstyles, they added tons of quests to the point where you can level exclusively from them as long as you get a group for some, but they did those changes on the Korean version too, the same we'll be getting.
About the tank and spank, not all of the bosses are, for example, final boss in Draupnir instande gets adds every 25% and I can guarantee you'll have to move around to advoid those, because every 25%, next to the adds, the boss does a huge area damage and leaves all your party weakened, that's the strongest boss I've fought in Aion though, there are more, but since Im playing in Korean I dont realy know how to get to many of them. |

Apparently you've never really raided or tried to lead a raid. I think what people do not realize about raiding is that though their individual job on a particular boss fight may not be too complex or challenging, others in the raid have to do a lot more and it's the TOTAL overall coordination and communication between every member of the raid doing their own individual job that creates the complexity and challenge of raid encounters.
Your opinion is immaterial. |

I would say WoW had some time consuming bosses to learn. Maybe it was little variation and script... but some scripts like Kaelthas are very long. Anyway I personally would be perfectly fine with tank and spank bosses. While we are at it why don't we just remove all the trash @@. You can say im not looking for a challenge or whatever, but the bottom line is im looking to play this game for PVP. Almost every boss in DAOC was a tank and spank. But to each his own. Also considering the whole PvPvE thing... i'd hate to try to kill a difficult / strategic boss while having to fend off people in pvp. Imagine a WoW like encounter while pvping. Certaintly it would be challenging, but also sounds quite absurd to accomplish. Not too sure how many of you PVEd in Warhammer at cap level but i thought those bosses were alright... not hard at all to learn and slightly above tank and spank (like kiting a boss in a circle or split dps at max). If it was less time consuming that'd be even better. Make PVE fun and not a chore you do every week. Pledge your support to creating a PvP Community on Aion. Join our server on release. |

What's wrong with tank'n'spank encounters? Some of the most enjoyable and memorable enounters in MMO's that I've experienced have been as such...
