LOL while it may have been "fun", OP and other participants in this incident remind me of those idiots that videotape themselves committing crimes and posting them on youtube. |

I vote this thread the most painful DF thread of the week... ouchies.
... but gosh Jane I am so surprised that DF GMs are unprofessional and there a whole load of gameplay mechanics existing in a gray area between legitimate or exploits status. Its not like this game is badly planned, thought out and executed with a insane ranting lead developers and idiotic fanbase... oh... riiiiiight :) |

Good grief.....Paragus' excellent write ups almost had me consider playing this game, despite it's multitude of documented flaws, because I have a buddy who plays and his write up made me nostalgic about Shadowbane.......until I read this. Thanks OP for clearing my head, I must still be hungover to even have considered...... |

I'm sorry, I'm not following. What does the amount of people doing something stupid in game have to do with me saying that this is probably one of only a few people that have posted something stupid here, that the entire website seemingly have attacked him for. Are you implying that most of the people attacking him here, are in fact hypocritical players that did the same thing in the game? I'm not trying to sound like a smartass, I honestly didn't understand your response to my quote. |

So good on you OP, as laughable as your post was, it made some decent conversation in here. Halfwit, or Brilliance on his part...you decide.;) |

So you are saying the OP is a liar? I just want to be clear. To be honest I can't make any sense out of the screenshots of all that chat, so I'm not sure who to believe. But mind you, we've learned not to believe a single thing that comes out of Tasos and he really says their GMs cannot kick players? With the community forming around Darkfall, that's like sending peacekeepers into Somalia with nothing but whiffle bats.

Tasos never said GMs couldn't kick people. What he said was Aventurine checked the logs and found the reports of the GMs being corrupt (at that time) weren't true. He also said that GMs don't have the power to crash the server: "First of all GMs cannot crash the server, or cause a client to crash. They cannot create items or money. All their actions and communications are monitored and logged. We re-checked all chat logs and GM activity for every report mentioned in the forums or reported to us at the help desk, over the time periods that the questionable conduct was supposed to have taken place and found absolutely nothing. Because of this, any public accusations on the forums accusing GMs or the company of any such activities will be removed, and everyone contributing in the thread will be banned from the forums. GM activity is always monitored by us. If you would like to report GM conduct, then you should use support.darkfallonline.com to do so if you have proof of misconduct." In this case, was a GM abusing his or her power? Who knows? It does seem like the rigor pyramid is an expoit, but that the GM didn't really have enough power to stop it. ~Ripper |

I'm known as a Darkfall "troll" but hearing stories like the op's make me want to play df. Absolute chaos that GM's can't even control, Sign me Up!!! This should be Darkfall's selling point, macro, hack, and exploit all you want in the chaotic lands of Darkfall!!!! Now I would play that game!!!! Trolls = Hardcore

Damn, I really wanted this game to succeed, I think a lot of us wanted this game to succeed but it is getting harder and harder to support it with statements like this in the thread:

This is unfortunately a logic often seen, and one that tears a game apart. Banning 200 people for exploiting will lose you 200 subscribers now. Not banning them will lose you 2000 down the line as people don't like cheaters getting away with it. Best option: suspend the 200 for a week and reset the exploited achievements - or delete the characters. 150 of the 200 will stick around, and so will those 2000 who would leave if you did nothing. (Yes, numbers are picked out of the air. It's just an example to make a point.) |
