I think some of you need to get out more >.> I'm just happy there are new and fun games coming out all the time. Not worried about the BS that would cause me to copy someone's comment repeatedly and argue with them.

This thread is simply more proof that humanity fails. In other news, I'm sure what ever kind of game Blizzard plans to create will be golden, just like all of their other titles. I'm personally looking forward to it, just as I have most of their other games. Considering I used to rock out to playing The Lost Vikings, and Rock & Roll Racing back in the day. However, back then their branding didn't mean much to me considering I was six years old or so. All the hating on Blizzard, or any other development/gaming studio is generally never warranted unless of course they blatantly attempt to rip you off. Kind of like Darkfall. Enjoy what ever game you're playing, that's generally all anyone can ask. If you've gotta come to forums to bitch about other titles, that's great, but at least attempt to be respectful.
Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is nonexistent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery - celebrate it if you feel like it. ~ Jim Jarmusch |

Originally posted by beauxaj Space Hulk was tons of fun (both board- and computer-game versions).... in fact, I wouldn't mind setting autowatch for these re-hashed "new" news posts (which aren't new) and rabid fanbois and trolls, alike. They all need shot to pieces before we have to put up with them. :P As for Bliz: it's just a pity that people are willing to define "great game" as something that's little more than a dumbed-down, weak-lored, badly-balanced grind-fest. Sure, WoW is well-polished (now) and (arguably) fun to play, when you're in the mood for a game that doesn't require you to have your brain switched on (most of the end-game raids, now, can be completed by Joe Newbie Bloggs and his 9-24 little sheep with no more than a pre-written raid guide that's usually available before the raid instance has even been released to live servers)... but given how long WoW's now been out, the money they've had available and the (arguable) competence of their staff, I wouldn't expect otherwise. That said, once you're past the novelty factor, it really does get boring, quick; new content is shiny but, in Bliz's case, it's little more than re-hashed content or (horribly) re-coloured textures that you were glad to have seen the back of, the first time you were unlucky enough to find them (they pushed "asset re-use" to its limit and then broke it, years ago). What's more of a pity is that the few games that actively attempted to challenge WoW's supremacy in the marketplace - and might've had a chance of succeeding - either pushed themselves out the door too quick, outright deceived their prospective playerbase or mixed and matched a bit of both. Par for the course, the last few years, really. Can Blizzard build and release a new game that'll draw people in and keep them playing? I don't doubt it. Will it have smooth game-play, be graphically impressive and draw good concepts from other peoples' IP? I don't doubt it. Will it be dumbed-down, badly balanced, have pointless and ignorable lore and be a grind-fest? I don't doubt it. But at least it'll be something that's "not WoW," while we await other companies trying to do it right (or at least as well). We might even get lucky and one'll succeed.
That said, excuse me for not holding my breath; I'm cynical, not suicidal. :P |

Hahahah. I spent around 4 months away from these forums, and guess what I read when I come back? The same old "...creative minds of Blizzard that made the super original concepts of Warcraft and Starcraft!" Really.. priceless. Ultima Online 98~04 |

I have only one thing to say: i simply DO NOT CARE if something is/was ripped from other games or ideas. So, guys, settle down and enjoy that you have so many good games to play. besides, best thing to advance game development is a good competition. without that we would still be playing EQ or Ultima online.... or whatever came first :P |

I think with 134 posts here, Blizzard has shown that eitherways has an elevated nunber of fans and the licking method was a total success! |

They didn't steal enough from everquest, and I stopped playing world of warcraft because they kept dumbing it down making it easier to level, and there was not enough individual quest content for the various classes. because eventually it's ok report to this guy, go kill these things...ok done, next character oops Im now in westfall getting the quests for the deadmines, and oh look he's back again...for the 275 millionth time. I don't care that the quests are repetitive from character to character but more class specific content would have been nice. What I'd love to see is a slightly modern supernatural mmo, magic, mystical creatures, psychics, oh wait, Blizzard needs to pickup the mmo rights for Rifts.... |

For me its obious, Blizzard is going to make a sci-fi game: Located in a galaxy, far far "close?" Where there is a organization of monks that use energy "axes?" and have powers to control the "flux?" And then you can play in the good "flux" and bad "flux" side and be a "flux" user, a bounty hunter, a smugler, etc. The next "original" IP from Blizzard is going to be called Stars "Battles"
