Where are those posters? They couldn't admit that they were wrong? This isnt a post to say DF is the best game ever, but in all honesty, it recieved a shitload of hate based on the fact that it wasnt released. Something about a few fanbois making up stories about the gameplay, and using bots to play with, or some such nonsense.

This is vapourware, compare what the game you were promised is to what you have now.

Not the same game, clearly the game they were saying they were developing never came out.

 

I don't disagree that the game is sorely lacking in features, just like the disaster known as Roma Victor. However, come on now. The craze before launch (including while the game was in closed beta) was that the game didn't exist, the footage was bull, it was never going to be released, and so on and so on.

It just irks me that people jump from one negative point to the next about this particular game.

I wish it would have been vaporware...

Now all we get is a huge pile of crap, alpha stage nonsense that they expect you to pay for.

Vaporware is what it should have been.

Garbage is what we got.

Total waste of bandwidth seeking nothing more than the same old popcorn arguement seen all to often about this title.

Well DF should of stayed VaporWare that way people would have more respect for the game. Remember they spent all this time to release this!

I'm not defending the game, as its a messy PoS right now. That isn't the point. Its a product that was released, despite the core of the anti-DF arguement being "It doesn't exist. It's never being released. The beta testers are all fanbois/paid/whatever".

Since the game wasn't released with hardly any of what it claimed it would be released with or the level of gameplay it said it would be released with the original Darkfall was vaporwair, and we were all left with Darkfail as the replacement. It is an unfortunate thing, but when a majority of the games listing on the site are not even in game you know they don't even have the vigor to care about the game. Hell the main site still says they are in beta.

The problem was that the way adventurine and Tacos Flamebroiled handled  news, info, and the amount of time it took to make this game could've been easily percieved as vaporware.

Why should anyone that said it was vaporware say sorry?

The Darkfall I followed for all those years is not the Darkfall that is released now...more like the evil twin...so yes in my/others eye's Darkfall is and was vaporware.

I did not think Darkfall was real. So? To much evidence pointed to it not being, overly ambitious design, old school for the sake of old school philosophy with no lessons learned from the very titles they were attempting to emulate. Some "guy" talking about how their production was better, and more complete than AAA development houses and projects.

Technically, this was all false, as 1/50 of the game as it was advertised was launched.

No, I won't get over it. I'm glad you pointed out WHY the argument was made, and I can understand that totally. However, people don't get to just say whatever they want, convince others its fact, then bury their head in the sand when they are proven totally wrong.

Yeah, Tacos is half an idiot, and the entire development of the game could have been handled better, but still. Missing features doesn't surprise me. Release date changes, half finished peices of crap, and general chaos doesn't shock me. I played Roma Victor. I know about that stuff. However, the game ISN'T a fantasy or a lie, and I haven't seen anyone really point that out once accounts started going out the door.

FFS, after the first account shop session, people were still claiming that the game wasn't real, and that people couldn't purchase an account. That's an idiotic half-truth aimed at raging over god-knows-what.
