While analyzing the PvP video posted here, I discovered where Darkfall has borrowed their graphics from.

Specimen I

Notice the colors...I mean color, brown. Now notice that monster like creature charging towards what looks to be a guy trying to appease the creature with a Shish Kabob. But more importantly, look at the creature. I refer you to Specimen II.

Don't even get me started on textures.

Doom's GFX are worse..

But gameplay is way better.

So Doom > DF.

LOL This thread is great! At first I read the title and thought, "who the hell could possibly be making any logical or even quasi-psuedo logical comparison between thet two", but I stand corrected hehe.

so this thread take graphics from a youtube we don't know what quality that pc render and what setting that player had

this thing is not for a serious view just trolling

I like the doom graphics more and i also think that Doom has richer gameplay. Doom is everything darkfall should have been.

Well to be completely honest if we are gonna compare these two games we might as well do it right.....

Darkfall reminds me a lot of Doom 3 , especially the part were in Doom 3 you come across a mini sub game called

Super Turbo Turkey Puncher 3 . The main idea of that game is pretty close to the one Darkfall has and Doom had  and that is: the game drops a turkey on your screen , you punch it 'till it's dead and repeat................fun stuff

Im not defending Darkfall.  The game sucks.  I just cancelled my sub yesterday after 5 months of beta and 3 months of release.  Im an 11 year vet of top title MMOs, my resume includes beta testing and playing the first few years of Ultima Online and Asheron's Call (Darktide server).   Darkfall is not the next UO.   The grind is worse than Lineage II.   Its so bad most everyone macros overnight.   Being online 24x7 just for a few ticks in your skills in that manner is reminiscent of World of Kungfu's Qigong temple XP system, where the more you are online the more free levels you get.

Eurogamer awarded Darkfall 2/10.   Id give it a 3/10.  Its not as bad as they say.  But it is bad.  Very bad.  The only thing that it does is spur a competitive streak in players that makes them come back only to beat the snot outta that guy that ganked them earlier....

However I digress.  This guys post is trash.  He's a troll.

Yes but sadly the trolls seem to be winning today .....

I'd say judging from the initial screenshot, the game had more of a liking to Turok, than Doom. That game had a lot of pre-dominant greens and browns as well. It even has a similar looking bow to start out with.

Follow the link to more screenshots then.  Certain areas will be brown.  Others might be green.  Or purple.  Or gray.  Or blue.  Depends on where you are or what youre doing.

For instance in this SS I am fighting skeletons nearby some ruins and a swamp.  I am wearing rusty armor that provides little protection, mixed with some leather pieces.   I obtained all this armor from the skeletons Im fighting in the picture.   Of course it probably took almost an hour to get all that gear together.... but that's something for its own article!

If I were fighting trolls I would be wearing platemail items.  Theyre not brown.

wow, the clears it all up.  Thanks.  A valid comparison is not trolling, really.  Now if I were to post in the DF section about how DF sucks, isn't worth the time it takes to load up the website to buy it, the community's a bunch of epeen waving hyper reactionary children, then it might be trolling.  Might.  But you say he's trolling so he is?  I say he's not so I guess he's not.

Honestly, the hyper overractinary fanboi army's getting a bit old here guys.  Seriously, when I called Mastercard for a refund for false advertising, the csr on the other end actually asked if I was referring to Darkfail.

btw, I obviously voted for Doom, it's a far superior game.  No question about it.

We win every day.. We didnt get duped into wasting money that fraud of a game. If you got robbed and I did not, I win.

What ever floats your boat I say ... I'm going back to Darkfall to enjoy myself .... get robbed  err nope best 37 quid I've spent on a game in ages, you never get robbed when you buy a game , nobody twisted my arm now did they ? .

What are the minimum requirments for Darkfall?

It kind of looks old so I would be surprised if it required anything more then a Single core processor, a gig of ram and 256 Graphics card.

I would like to get some info from a player that is actually playing DF with a old school system.

Wow I see a vast empty world, sort of like Deceit-n-Lie had. I also see the Vangaurd look; you know "Too much brown".

So you have some nice hi rez static shots with no action. Hell I can photoshop anything I want or use Maya to generate a landscape and call it Phranks Kick Ass MMORPG and beat your graphics all to hell. Actual in game graphics with movement look like ass plain and simple and the toons and animations are worse.

Doesn't really matter though, just like Deceit-n-Lie this game won't be around much longer with the current management and lying PR rep that they have.

From those screenshots the gfx look alright, but nothing special. And people really do need to chill when somone comments about the game you play. Ive had to sit here and deal with people bashing War. I wanna give Darkfall a try but...oops i cant cause its to painful of a process, and dont have trials out yet.
