Seriously im tired of how much bad reputation a MMORPG can get from a bad review they carry after a bad release , im wondering if major critic's website do another review of a MMO after a while to check out how they had grow . Just like AOC we all know how bad things started from the first days with the constant bugs and the incredible need of PC requirments due to memory leaks back in the days , and content missing... The developers have really been working hard and the game has been shaped very good and i just cant stand that people still judge this game badly from the start by looking at the bad reviews it had , its ok to understand that some people may like it some others no , but the major issues that degraded this wonderfull game have dissapeared. Lets just hope when they get a new campaign underway they remake some reviews of the game so we can all catch how much we been missing from AOC because of a bad reputation at first stages...
just my opinion i love the game it has his minimum flaws now but hey who doesnt nothing is perfect... |

I think most are waiting for the patch 1.05 or 1.5 whichever it is supposed to be.
That patch is supposed to be the big one to fix and add many things so I would guess the re-review would be better off after that comes out. At least that is what I think things are waiting on and I know a few friends and I are also waiting to see what that patch brings. Out of every 100 men, 10 should not be there, |

Any game that is going to released with as many problems as this one had deserves to be hated on. I bough the collectors edition because I love the lore of Conan and the ideas they had about mature gaming. I'm sure this game has improved leaps and bounds, made subscribers happy and got new content. But the bottom line is:
If you release a game that's basically beta you shouldn't expect people to pay 15 dollars a month for a year before they start getting happy about what they see. A re-review won't make people come running back. They scarred their image and deservingly so. excuse me, unless your using the computer for mmo's please get off. |

I For one will be retrying AoC when the patch hits live :) i heard 1.06 is the push to get some of the Vets back and then expansion due q4/q1 of 2010 ... none the less we shall see how Failcom does this time :) maybe they could restore some hope in what was a most brilliant game Save a Tree.... I wouldn't mind seeing a re-review after the big patch. I don't care if it helps ppl try the game once again or not. I re-subbed after reading good remarks from these forums and the offical forums. I was one of the guys that got the CE of the game and quite withing the first month. I have to say the game is amazing now :D Promote Rift! Get your free 7 day trial here! |

I'm quite glad to not see AoC and Ellingson's face every other day on the mainpage of mmorpg.com anymore. It was an absolute overkill that days. They have had their chance, they lied to us BIG TIME and they got what they deserved. No need for a re-review in my opinion (plus the reviews soon after release were surprisingly mostly positive), just bury it down deep. |

The last thing Funcom deserves is another review.
They should compensate every last penny of the pump and dump they did when promoting and releasing this disaster of a game.
This game is Bernie Madoff all over.

Sad. All you haters keep on hating while those of us that enjoy the game will continue to have fun. I really think it is sad how much hate people have for Funcom or the game. "They lied to us!" Get over it. SWG is not the same game it was when I first played it but I dont go around spewing hate for the game or for SOE. |

Its not just that they lied, they were decieving as to how large a game this was.... heck I'd play Anarchy online WAYYYY before this game again.. at least you get a feeling of freedom in that mmo (AO) this game is like a ride.. pushing you thru areas down a shute... these types of games are goin by the wayside... and the amount of instances needs to stop.. i dont mind some instances but it gets alittle out of control.. the maps are very decieving as they show a HUGE area and then you are in like some sort a small pin point of that map... conan is a HUGE world filled with lore... i see hundreds of people crying out for huge games and something different.. many are returning to OLDER mmos's because they gave us so much... take note Funcom ... |

Do you truely believe all the bad rep hit a small'ish norwegian company because of a few "haters"? I am sorry: IMO THAT is a sad line of thought! AoC has improved a lot (performancewise etc.) since launch but the core has remained the same. Once patch 1.05 and 1.06 has been implemented a re-re-review would be nice. I would definately read it but then... Same goes for just about any other MMORPG. Only MMO-players manage to start an argument over the amount of "sparkling" in a lightsaber... |

I love how people who hate funcom or AoC think that it shouldn't be re-reviewed.
How about this...what if MMORPG said that they refused to re-review the game YOU are currently playing and having fun with because of some personal vendetta. You'd be up in arms.
so that's sort of how we feel. We love this game, despite whatever funcom did at launch. We want to see it grow and prosper and we want to see our community become larger.
We are just like the rest of the MMO gamers. We want to see our game succeed. I don't go to your games forum and bash it, all I ask is that you don't come to my game's forum and bash it.
Please, give a review of the game. Tell us where you had problems. Tell us the ways in which Funcom lied to you or w/e.
just please...don't come here every...single...day...and bash the game that we love. your reviews will be seen. Those people your are trying to warn will see it and they will make their own judgement. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Once 1.05 is active and debugged that would probably be a good idea. |

As long as the re-review is honest, I'm all for it. The MMO genre is pretty barren atm, and even games that are enjoyable are lacking the population to fully realize the experience. I don't exactly like how every failing game has fans who continually insist that 'next patch will make everything better', every time a new patch is released, if the game changes significantly enough I think it would warrant a re-review. AoC could be a really awesome game, but my passed experience with funcom leaves me doubtful it will turn around in time to really save itself. |

Age of Conan... basically the same game at launch, except it now runs better.
There's the re-review.... best wait until the expansion comes out tbh, then you'll have the content to actually make a meaningful change in the rating of the game |

I agree with both of you. And what if the re-review doesn't go well. Funcom slathers more lipstick on this pig and prances it back out for a re-re-review? Nope, sorry. They had their chance: a decent franchise license, good resources, and ample development time. They failed and they deserve the consequences. |

people throw the word "fail" around WAY too much.
the servers are still up. More content is still being added. It's not over until the fat lady sings...or closes down the servers. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

I don't really understand why people becomes so dramatical about the launch problems they have had. Sure, they promised more then they could deliver and had a lot of problems, but it's not the first game to do so. I don't get why people believe this game doesn't deserve another chance.
I do agree with all the negative comments on how the game turned out at launch though.
Most of us doesn't know the hardship of making games and how much work is put into them.
Back to the topic. I hope the review it again after the next major patch |

Originally posted by Draconigen We're upset and understandably so because we paid for a product and it didn't do what it promised. Yes other games had bad problems at launch and I'm not playing those either. No one is "targeting" this game. It just feels like it because you like and play this game. I'm equally critical on all games I play. Especially subrsiption games. If you want money monthly you need to deliver period. I don't want to waste my money and my time on a game that doesn't deserve it. If you can play a game that has "promise" or is "average" and send them your money every month. Then good for you. I can't. Most people where I work don't know the hardships of me keeping the servers up and running 24-7, they know they they need them to work and they better work. And damnit they do. I'm not gonna feel bad for game developers. They make good money, they chose their profession. It's a cut throat industry with impossible deadlines, horrendous hours and endless frustrations ... but we see alot of good games come out all the time. If you want the pride and joy of being on top you sacrifice. When they decide to give me a free month and invite me back to play on my CE account I'll come back because everyone deserves another chance. Just not a paid one. I gave them that ... excuse me, unless your using the computer for mmo's please get off. |
