Cryptic Studios has announced a special envoy program to reward players for their support and interest in the early phases of the development of Star Trek Online.

Working on a game is extremely difficult and totally exhausting. When that game is a triple-A effort as big as Star Trek Online ... Oh, it gets real tough. But, sometimes the toil just doesn’t matter - sometimes it all comes together and sometimes we get to lift our tired eyes, hit up the forums, smile a little and realize it’s completely worth it. Completely.

With that in mind, it’s our pleasure to introduce the Special Envoy Program as a small thank you to those who’ve signed up to become part of this amazing Star Trek Online experience.

The Special Envoy Program awards everyone who’s signed up for our forums (or will sign up before May 22) an exclusive title in-game, once it launches. The title will be exclusive to those of you who’ve become a part of the community this early, and you can opt to display it as you explore the universe in Star Trek Online. It’s just one of the ways we plan on thanking you for your continued support and enthusiasm.

that's really cool. I've been following this game since Perpetual Entertainment had that sign-up communicator AND that was it.....

supposedly to give us news and updates. I'm glad this company took over. Can't wait!!

Too bad this mmo wasn't able to release closer to the new Star Trek movie, to ride the wave of interest.

Alas, by the time this thing is ready to go, it'll take a back seat to whatever other mmo is being released at the time.

Maybe there's yet another movie they can ride the coat-tails of in the future.

so true.... the movie hype would be a huge help for the game if it were released now. Suppose we will just have to rely on Trekkie insanity to hold the game up!!!

Gotta love the perks

  I think coming out pretty close to the movie would grab some a few more subs from people that are just starting to get into Star Trek.  But I think that The Trekkies (such as myself) will not care when the games come's out.  As long as it''s well done and relatively bug free I think it will do very well.

They damn deleted every critizising post and thread. This is game is SO done for me.

I dig things like this myself.... as I would imagine all acheivement whores would lol :)
