This should be the most embarassing dev flame war since the Mark Jacobs debacle.

Encouraging that he ackowledged that article in the first place and interesting that the review seems to be done by a "correspondant" much like this site's "reviews".

While I certainly have no reason to trust Taso's, the review was certainly overly aggressive toward the game so I think it gives his claims some credibility. Will be interesting to see where this leads.

If Tasos is correct and these reviewers didnt even bother to play...then by all means burn these reviewers(or reviewer) at the stake. I have a feeling Tasos is correct, because they do have the logs to support thier position. Frankly I havnt even played the game and id give it  a five from what ive seen on youtube, live streams etc, as a point of reference id rate WHO as a six...DAOC as a eight or nine.

Wonder who pissed off the reviewers in game? Someone must have chain ganked them at the noob area!

The Darkfall love/hate extravaganza continues!  Woohoo!  This crap was entertaining when Darkfall was still vaporware - now that there is an actual game, it's even more fun!

I will never again read anything from them - and I am far from a DF fanboy (I have played the game, so I know what it is like, and that review was out to damage DF).

This is hilarious. Tasos is all like " OMG REVIEW DON'T COUNT BECAUSE OF THIS, AND THIS, AND THIS! SEE IT DOESN"T COUNT DON'T LISTEN TO IT!" But Eurogamer is all like "YOU DESERVE IT!"

I don't see how he can think any review can drive players away more than... not letting them buy the game.  did the review cover that part? where they don't let you buy the game.  they don't need to say "avoid this game" they can say "try really hard to buy the game, you don't have to worry"

Wtf are you talking about, we can plainly see the facts here: a "hater" took a hold of a game, an editorial review not an employee of the website and trashed it.

Eurogamer must now make mends and take care of their own faliures.

I am a big AV skeptic and even bigger tasos hater, but I must admit I think I side with Tasos with this one if he can prove the play time. Even uif he cant prove the play time 2/10 still seam really low id atleast give it a 4/10 just from the stuff i have seen.

You know there is no excuse for a reviewer to negatively shill any game, but this is rampant in our hobby, usually the reviewer is a rabid fanboi of another MMO and is determined that any potential usurper is slapped down hard, the even sadder thing is certain developers encourage and even reward these unethical people.

Yea, Tasos says "They had 2 hours across 13 sessions, and another only 3 minutes in-game". BECAUSE EVERYTHING ELSE TASOS SAYS HAS BEEN CREDIBLE AMIRITE?

A reason they might've not been able to play for so long is that the game is so terrible they couldn't stand to stay logged in for that long.

It was pretty obvious that the article was not a review, rather a negative marketing.

Reviews can be bad, but not that bad. Reviews shows pros and cons of a game, and Darkfall as it is now is far above the point of not having anything good to talk about.

I have not yet played the game, so I will not speak either good or bad of the game.

The reviewer had not even dragged a single power to the hotbar (see review screenshots).

In that case Eurogamer has serious issues and absolutely needs to have someone unbiased re-review this here game.

I bought the game. I didn't resub. That guy's review echoed my thoughts fairly well. The game is hard when you first start. If you can find any mobs, the areas where they are at are camped so heavily it's a PITA to get any kills. If you try to look for mobs outside the starter areas you will find player gank squads, which isn't that bad of a thing for a game being touted as a FFA-PVP game, except for the fact that if you are solo, you stand no chance. If you are new, you stand no chance. If you don't macro, you stand no chance. The reviewer didn't even mention anything about the auto-loot macro. Everytime I tried looting a corpse outside the starter areas, if there are other people around, chances are most have an auto-loot macro.

Edit: Just because I think there is hope for darkfall I think it deserves 5/10.

In a stroke of pure irony, this shows just how much value can be assigned to "correspondant" reviews regardless which side of the fence they come down on. Fans can dismiss this as as non-professional review done by a fan of xyz game and detractors can dismiss correspondant reviews on this site as being done by blind loyalists to the game. Everyone is happy...i think...

Guys you do understand that they have more demand than server capacity?
They don't need a trial.
Whoever is playing the game is enjoying it.

Also read John Wood review (sort of) of Darkfall "The Conversion of a Self Proclaimed Carebear".
If you don't believe the fanboys and Tasos, you should believe a self confessed carebear whuich is also the owner of this site, so I believe he is fairly unbiased.

Aventurine are retarded in many level, distribution, planning and communication, but the game is great, and can only get better.

There is no way DF deserve a 2/10.
It is 10 times better than AoC, WAR and all this shit.
Eurogamer is just a shit site for allowing this reviw to be published.
