But, eventually you will grow up and find other real games, with real combat and real content and you'll look back and laugh at yourself for being such a fanboi.

Okay, read what Thrage wrote.  In that thread, and I am not going to speak for every page because I refuse to waste that much of my life looking post by post, but with the majority of his posts, he is getting very little bashing.  In my estimation (and yes, just an observation/opinion, and we all know how dangerous opinions can be), he is writing some things about the game that is not resorting to the usual default answers about DFO.  He is just writing as he sees it, does it in an entertaining manner, and is coming up with what feels like to me, to be a somewhat of a fresh look.

To be honest, and I am walking a line I normally try not to cross, I have seen enough info about the game to think it is nothing but utter cr@p.  Yet, I can respect what Thrage has to say about the game, and not feel the need to trash and bash him.  Sometimes it is how you express or say these things that makes all the difference.

If you like the game, feel free to post about it, but just try and say the things you like that we haven't heard before from the other super fans.  Expect there will be some criticism, be prepared, thicken you skin, but you'll get more respect if you avoid the things other fans written that have drawn the ire of those with a distate for the game, which is nothing more than resorting to the default answers we have grown to loathe.

I don't feel being lied to,  there is nothing i am missing much in these game and the core features are there.

The game offers for me great game play it really is the best game on the market for me right now (again - as for me. i don't play anything else then sandbox and theme park games don't fall into category MMO as for me, so i don't play them) . 

The combat is great for an MMORPG , ok i never spend time in a pure FPS game but as MMORPG veteran i say thesecombat of DarkFAll  is a very succesfull way to add to the usually MMOPRPG combat, it is fun and it adds personal twitch skill in the usual select skill and tab target- fire it, at least i having a blast using it.  

 

I PLAYED the game, it was an utter joke.

After the 3rd week, nothing is new, it's the same ole bullshit, over and over and over.... Darkfall = boring

My 7th - 8th week now. I have a feeling of learning new aspects in the game with every new day. I did not grind or power-grinded. I play and enjoy it.

 NO taularasa was themepark, Planet side happened to be $OE Counterstrike and battlefield are FPS.  I am a pure MMORPG player.

If I recall correctly, Darthraiden is Maniacal the leader of some DF clan called Dog company. You can check their videos online on one of these streaming video sites. Just listening to him and his clanmates will give you a good idea of the type of player he is and why he thinks DF is good. Its a rare glimpse into a true fanboi's playstyle and personality, all of which allow you to better judge his perspective and its proximity to reality. I personally think DF is the mmo for fps players. Very limited skillsets and crafting, shallow player development, clan centered community, pve content is almost non-existent and at its core the act of fighting itself is the point. It has its audience but "Its so simple a caveman could do it" and "yes", sadly, attracting the immature and socially obtuse is a viable marketing strategy.

Enough with the Darkfall. If people want to play it they will play it. If you love the game go play it. If you don't stop talking about it.

Sorry I'm just sick of seeing posts about this game rehashing the same opinions.

A 'correspondent' is an unpayed fan of the game who writes articles for MMORPG.COM.....  they 'hire' that position from current fans of the game.. it is not an independant person who tries the game and then writes a review.  It is someone who loves the game already, then applies for the position, and then writes their opinion.

Check out AmazingAvery on the AOC forums.   You would swear that AOC could cure the blind from the stuff he writes about AOC.

 

I was just surprised is MMORPG.com staff and writes such a fair article. But however despite the fact  WHO has written it i fully agree with most of  WHAT he has written because i find myself agreeing    ( just can't say much to his DF-UO comparison, cause never played UO) .

DF offers you to take part and develop in every aspect of the game with just char and everyone is doing it. However i am having fun being not gimped to a class and using only bows and magic or something but can use any skill and activity.

Yep, you live in a hostile world and for everything you try to accomplish there might be opponnent plyers oppose you and disturb you. They are okay with it, because right now, DFO articles bring hits to the site.  Those that love and hate the game will flock to the article to defend their point of view.  I do believe, and correct me if I am wrong, but someone from MMORPG.com basically stated such in that thread, that DFO articles bring hits or something akin to that.  It has nothing to do with any particular like or dislike of the game.

As for the rest, well, a small stab in the dark, and I'll leave the rest to others, but the statement "it is the best MMO out today", is a rather strong, all encompassing statement of "fact", leaving little room for interpretation and it and it's variants are some of those overused, default statements.  While this part here, "I am having fun while play it and it is the most enagaging, thrilling MMO i maybe played" seems a bit less all encompassing, and feels a bit more genuine, and puts it in the perspective of an opinion.  True opinions are easier for people to deal with than opinions disguised as "facts", if you take my meaning.  Whether you mean to do this or not, it is the way you and few others come off sounding like.

About my opinion about "maybe " the most engaging and thrilling . I was actually thinking about excatly 1 other situation in another MMO that could be compared to in my experience. 

That was being a Jedi and have to watch on Bounty Hunters encounters in SWG PRE CU. But if i am thinking of it what i got in endless grind in SWG i get on Daily basis in DF. That "maybe" comes because i really had  to work in SWG PRE CU to come in that position for such thrilling and engaging situations and my memory values that. In DarkFall it is part of gameplay from day one and a "easy to get" feature. and maybe because SWG PRE CU was my first MMORPG and my first love so to speak lol

He finally realized that Correspondent = Nothing to do with MMORPG.com

Look at your own sig! You are a hypocrite. You are saying in YOUR OWN SIGNATURE not to support $OE EULA because they change gameplay with NO RESPECT to peoples' investment. BUT AV DID THE SAME THING WITH DF, how are you so blind that you don't see that? Must be a lack of intellectual prowess because I simply cannot explain this.

So its ok for AV to lie, take peoples money, and make people pay for a paid beta but not $OE? I really do hate $OE and will not support a game by them ever again but at least they didn't make me pay to play a beta.

You claim you are an experienced MMO gamer yet you LIED and  told people that DF crafting system is one of the best/complex you seen in any game.  THAT's your personal opinion, from someone who obviously hasn't played as many MMOs as they claim. So which is it, are you lying about how many MMOs you actually played, or are you lying just to hype up DF crafting system? You see what I did there? I used your OWN lies to paint you into a corner.

Stop lying to people in order to trick them into trying a game they WON'T like. Maybe there wouldn't be so many negative reviews about DF if people like you didn't lie to people in order to get them to try the game.

AV is patching the game for the better and it gets better with every patch lol . Do you really compare AV making the game better with every pacth to the horrid doings of $OE lol 

I don't feel lied to by AV,They delivered the game I WANT TO PLAY , they PATCH IT IN THE direction I WANT IT patched, they take my money and improve tha game.  How can you compare that to $OE taking my money and destroy the game i loved ?

Oh i don't want to trick anyone into buying the game, i like a small dedicated playerbase, i could care less. I also expected MMORPG.com to do shit reviews but to my surprise they give really good authors to write a fair review.

Well done MMORPG.com on these matter now clean the forum from the hatertrolls and these site would be really a good place for a DF community.

I didn't find a topic in Darkfall forum for it and i only visit these Darkfall forum.  I saw the article but it leads to a discussion that is not in the darkfall forum.
