Seems I get more info from the so called haters of the game than I do from the players. At least more acurate info.

Darthraiden this is for you a question if I may.

Can you explain how for you the game is complete? I have seen you post this a few times now, but you never go in detail on what it is that makes the game feel complete to you.

Its because people don't seek knowledge about the game here but come in with a setup mind and full of prejustice.

To  answer your question in suitable it would require me to put  an entirely write up of my doings and experiences in game but i don't have the time to do so now and i also don't intent to ever write about.

A short version .. I started as Dwarf to take part on a important Clan activity the day one because it was to close to the event and a travel from one racial land to another is TOO DANGEROUS..(first feature i love)

Rerolled the other day, did the starter quests and got on my journay for meet up ..*hugs and kisses* on arrival.

We needed some blood for a recipe leading us to a terretory called afghanistan. We made it  there safe found the mobs and collected the blood but on the way back we got rolled by the famous Rainbow Ninjas.  We lost half of our loot on something that could have been called manhunt with us being the pray. We tried to divide in 2 troops one selecting a path through mountains the other one try to stay shoreside on Rivers and Lakes.   We made it with half our goodies lost.

We talk much. Agon and DarkFall  makes active voice  communication absolutely necessary .  We known each other but many new people joined us in DarkFall,  we still in process of  building better social structur within our Clan and learn each other better to know. We finally share online pillage and death together.

First week our officers ordered the stockpiling of  ironore and gold  for some reason (well i know now why :)). So i did mining a lot.

I choose one-hander as mellee  and the use of  bows, tending for fire magic but not decided if i follow that path. I am still not high  in any combat skill but i take part in any clan activity, Guarding, Raiding, Farming, Mining, you name it.

Not every of our activities is being handled by gamemechanics but its finally on us to shape Agon, isn't it  ? We have put bounties on heads we dislike for example and we guarding miners for just looking in surprised faces of reds hoping for the quick loot.

Um thanks I guess, although that really didn't answer my question.

Not really interested in what race you made or what little jount you did. I'm asking for specifics.

What is in the game now that makes it feature complete to you?

A big continent,4 subcontinents, many small islands and a ocean to explore in a seamless world plus zoned dungeons.

Freedom to develop my char in any direction i like.

A fun and rewarding combat system  for the skilled player in wich twitch combat successfully merges with RPG combat elements.

Consequences for PvP including full loot for the winner and loose of items for the defeated.

A dangerous world rehashes and captures  a bit of the "evilness" in tolkiens fantasy about orcs and elves and humans nature.

Clan's live. We have a more intense Clan live now then in other MMO's.  The need for cooperation is more important then in other MMO's.  Everything about clans is amazing in these game.

Hope now these answer your question. If not be more specific.

Be carefull how you answer that, if you can calm down long enough to.

While I love to explore this sounds fine.

Freedom to develop my char in any direction i like.

So basically your saying they have skills set up to be what ever I want? So say I want to be a rogue/thief/or scout, there are skills to disarm traps, or set traps, pick locks etc? Or there are merchant stores that I can build and sell from?

A fun and rewarding combat system  for the skilled player in wich twitch combat successfully merges with RPG combat elements.

Consequences for PvP including full loot for the winner and loose of items for the defeated.

So there is a harsh death penelty like loss of skills? or is it just loot you lose? Also you lose faction for killing your own race and become a murderer where you cannot enter any city?

A dangerous world rehashes and captures  a bit of the "evilness" in tolkiens fantasy about orcs and elves and humans nature.

I am more curious about the "Freedom to develop my character in any direction I like".

How are you free to develop? What skills besides the basic weapon, archery, mage, and crafting/harvesting skills are there?

Answer: None

And weapons only have a few skills, archery only has a few skills, mage has a TON of skills but 95% of them are useless and extremely hard to get as well. But really none of that matters, as you need to have ALL of those skills in weapons, archery, and magery or you cannot compete later in the game, thus making the game actually much MORE linear character progression than games like WoW.

A great example is if you are playing Rock/Paper/Scissors with someone but you can only use Rock and they can use all three. See my point?

As for the rest of what he said: seamless world, lots of games have that but much better worlds with much better flora, monsters, dungeons, etc. - As for combat system, while other games have a very similar system, I find all sorts of combat systems rewarding and fun, my favorite being VG personally.

So basically what he said was blah blah blah .... FULL LOOTING PvP!!!!! ... blah blah blah.

Out of 100 levels for a skill, only 4 matter. 25, 50, 75, and 100.

In a sandbox game, yes. However, Darkfall is a litterbox.

Yep, in reality Darkfall is a level based game, with 4 levels per "skill".

Unfortunately, the fanbois live somewhere other than reality.

Don't put much into his answer Otiro. It is an obvious copy/paste from somewhere else.

LOL yeah.

I dunno.. I find the more "spirited" the debate.. the more fun it is. I never see myself as being "bullied".

Hell, you and I have gone some rounds on the TSW forums here, Wise... You have your points-of-view. I have mine. Debating them is what makes these forums entertaining. I don't know about you, but I've found the exchange fun. Have certainly never felt "bullied". Occasionally, someone will make a response that makes me stop and think, "hmm.. good point"... and I enjoy that.

The irony is... here, we're on the forums for a "hardcore, FFA PvP" game, where the posters will regularly tell people to go play WoW or some "kiddie themepark" if they can't handle it. Yet, they whine and complain when people challenge anything they say.

Very odd.

Then i am thankfull they didn't listen to you  and released the game.  All the fluff stuff isn' t a reason to hold back these gem as to my in game experience.  The game got released ready in its core and if i think back about $OE SWG  not having mounts at release and having to explore only by foot i think these game has more of its announced features already in then any other at release.Every game receive patches  and optimizations after release so its very usual, Av balance and optimize further with patches. That doesn't mean the game wasnt ready it just means its a  "living world" requiring adjustements then and when for the better.

Have you ever played any other game at release?  It's funny, I've been playing around with Freerealms.  It's this F2P MMO by sony; it has more content, and ALL of it's features in, it came out less then a week ago.  VG, I played that at release, it had a LOT of problems, but it had pretty much everything in at release as well.  In fact, Darkfall lacks more of it's features at release then ANY mmo I've ever played at release.  City of Heroes, Lineage 2, World of Warcraft, Vanguard, The Matrix Online, Auto Assault just to name a few, all had more content, and more of it's features when they released.

To say that Darkfall has more of it's announced features in at release then any other MMO is a blatant lie, or simple ignorance.
Things that aren't in:

Each race has a unique set of abilities
They do?
Nothing of importance for my gameplay.

Meet hundreds of unique monsters, and take them on in their lairs, strongholds and domains. Repetitive monster encounters are a thing of the past.
There aren't hundreds, and it's FAR from non-repetitive.  You kill the same monster endlessly.

Or here's an example.
Name an animal other then a bear that you skin.  Not a monster, an animal.  I'll help you out.  Nothing.  Only bears and then only a handful of them.  A skinner skins humanoids 99% of the time.  You even skin skeletons!

Not to  mention IT'S LISTED AS A FEATURE!

There are ruins all over the place, and 99% of them mean squat, they don't even have mobs, and no, standing around in them doesn't spawn anything, i've tried it numerouse time as many of the ruins I came across, sometimes sitting for over half an hour, and NOTHING HAPPENS.

Darkfall?s crafting system is intuitive, non-repetitive, challenging, useful, fun - and profitable. Using Darkfall?s virtually limitless item creator system, you could invent and be the first to use a weapon as awesome as the Flamefury Raudstaal Battleaxe of Bloodshed, or just make a simple saddle for your horse.
Well it certianly doesn't get anymore intuitive then hitting a single button.  Non-repetitive is a blatant lie.  Limitless item creator?

its not one of high complexity but for me is fully function and i can craft more things like in many other MMO.

Again, your opinion is irrelevent to whether or not the feature is prescent; wich it's not.  It doesn't matter if you like it because that's not what were discussing here.  Crafting is NOTHING LIKE IT'S DISCRIBED ON THE FEATURES LIST.  There is no limitless item creator.

Bring your goods to market using Darkfall?s sophisticated and secure trading system, bringing buyers and sellers together easily whether they?re inside the game or not.
Aka, trade chat.  Nope, no sophisticated trade system.

Don't want trading to take place in game except between clan members.

That is by far the most ridiculous idea I've heard yet.  I wish they would do this.
However, that has nothing to do with the feature not being in the game.

There are no safe zones in Darkfall. The only protection you can count on is your friends watching your back.
Only applies if your not in a clan that's at war.

DarkFall offers enough places to go kill someone at will.  ike what in 95% of the map ?

Again, irrelevent.
The features list says there are NO SAFE ZONES.  That is only true if you're in a clan that is at war, otherwise starting towns are effectively safe zones.

You can enjoy easy communication with your friends, even while outside the game. Darkfall?s Communication interface includes in-game message and trade boards, an IRC-style chat system, instant messaging, voice support, and even mobile phone SMS messaging.
The chat is based off of IRC, but that's the only thing that it released with.

Fluff stuff. Not something that qualifies a game as not being ready for release.

Fluff or not, it's a feature that is listed on thier website that isn't in game.
Anyone else seeing a patern here?  You're opinion doesn't matter, I don't care what you think of it, it's a feature that isn't in game.

Trade your hard earned items using Darkfall?s secure trade interface and in-game trade boards.
By trade interface they mean a trade chat chanell?  No in game boards.

I don't like and don't want trading  in the game.

WHAT!?

Explore the many different paths to being successful, and discover new ones that nobody thought of before.
Say what?

What you don't understand ? Gameplay offers freedom

That has nothing to do with being able to find a path of success that no one thought of.  You can fight, you can craft, and you can harvest, and everyone can do those things.  How are you supposed to find some other means of achieving success that no one else ever thought of?  You can't because gameplay options are very limitted.

Test your mettle in Darkfall?s Arena Events where individual players and teams compete for fun and profit.
Nope, not there.

You could also say the whole world is an Arena. But i see you want organized events ? Clans have organized some  lately. Nothing holds you from organizing one.

Or you could say that it's a missing feature!  The features list doesn't say you can organize events, it clearly says there are arenas you can fight in for fun and profit, and that doesn't exist.

Things that aren't true:

Darkfall places no restrictions on player interaction, so there are no developer imposed safe zones, no realms, factions, PvP zones, or any other roadblocks that limit your game.
Except there are faction, and starting towns are protected, and racial cities are the same thing as a realm.

I don't care about 5% protected area.   There is enough space on world to hunt someone down regardless of his racial standing. Also i could attack anyone anywhere and live with consequences.

Irrelevent opinion.

You don?t have to spend endless hours playing in order to enjoy yourself, or to become successful. Even if you only play in small doses, your character can be effective within his chosen field, and a lot of fun to play. Whether you?re looking for intense involvement or just casual fun without a huge time investment, Darkfall accommodates your playing style
That's not quite right, not quite wrong either, but not quite how it is.

Well i have not grinded anything yet so i am quite lowish in my skills but have a blast. Guess its right for me.

That's not the point.  You WILL spend hours doing the same repetitive task to increase your skills in order to be successful.
You can't be successful as only a mage, or as only a warrior.

In Darkfall, there?s much more to character development than, say, raising your riding or mining skill by mindlessly killing rats all day. Instead, you'll need to practice your skills if you want to get better at them. Darkfall?s skill based system makes sense, and it saves you from having to waste your playing time leveling
No, there isn't anything more to it.  You don't mindlessly kill rats cause there's no wildlife.  However you will mindlessly kill goblins, skeletons, zombies and a few other mobs all day.  You still waste time leveling, you just level skills instead of character levels; it's the same dif.

This is pretty much everythig listed as features on thier features page.

Well its not the same.  We have a clan mate refuses to do PvP (strange you would think) so he gathers materials all day and crafting stuff and is very happy with it. not possible in 905 of MMOs out there in the market.

That has absolutely nothing to do with what is stated on the features page.
You raise your weapons skills by mindlessly killing NPC's.  You can do it by just PvP, but it'll take you an insane amount of time to do it, and it's not really that viable an option.  Even then the mechanic is such that you have to repeat the same action repeatedly in order to get a small amount of gain.  There is nothing more to character development then that.

To raise your riding skill you ride your mount, you can't raise it any other way.  For them to state that "you'll need to practice." is trying to pitch the skill system as something other then standing in front of a tree and harvest for hours upon hours to raise your logging, or swing a sword at something for hours upon hours to raise your weapon skill, etc. etc.  It's a salesmens pitch; one of the things you're taught when you take a course in sales.  You twist the truth into something more then it really is, but never something other then it is.  It's the same as suggetive selling, you don't ask if you would like the product, you suggest purchasing the product.  Or if you like, creative wording.

I don't care what you think of the feature not being there.

I asked how you can justify saying that DFO released with more of it's features then any other MMO.
It didn't, and you can't justify.

Edit:  I don't feel like correcting my spelling and grammar.  It's been raining for like 3 days, I hurt, and am exhuasted.

I think anyone with more than, say, 2 brain cells to rub together, recognizes the unmitigated BS and spin Darth is spewing out. He's arguing his own opinions in place of addressing objective facts because the facts do not favor DF, and he knows it.

"I don't think those are missing features because they don't matter to me" is a complete cop-out BS response... and I'm sure he knows it.

But again.. the Prime Objective for all DF fans is to defend the game at all cost, no matter how ridiculous you make yourself look in the process. Darth is just doing his part.

I mean, does anyone remember early SWG?? No mounts, no vehicles....had to walk literally EVERYWHERE...hardly anything was implemented yet. But we played it anyway, and in time more and more was added, making the game better (at least until CU).

Please try to stop excusing companies for dropping empty game worlds with rule systems in place and nothing else we had to have reached a point where we the consumer can expect an actual game for our money as opposed to what far too many devs like to do which is releasing early with not much more than a game you can walk around in and a few mobs to kill.

The fact that you use SWG as an example should point out to you that the industry should be passed that point swg was like 5-10 years ago any dev who has to do to me what they did isn't worth the money imo as soe wasn't in hindsight.I personally would not pay anymore for a game as incomplete as swg nor as DF seems to be and we really shouldn't have to

Notice that every rebuttal by Darth is "I don't miss it" or "I don't need it"?

The World According to Darth: If he doesn't need it or miss it, the world doesn't either.

He's gotta be the most self-centered, arrogant person I've seen outside of Tasos.
