Because gear matters in WOW, in fact, the entire game is built around players working hard (or not) to upgrade their gear to the next better level. Full loot would totally destroy that mechanic, and would not be popular with the majority of WOW's target market, i.e. the typical player. Full loot appeals to a very small niche market, and Blizzard has no incentive to cater to it.

Cause you would see a lot of whining about how i lost my good gear and how terrible the system is on the forums. |

Because aquiring gear in WoW takes..... wait a sec I almost passed over the easy answer: WoW is a carebear game (no I'm not a DF fan) and they'd quit. If you ever wanted to see WoW collapse really fast you could try that (It'd be 2nd quickest to taking NE Hunters out of the game) |

I agree with you, not to mention epic gear, and most worthy loot gear in wow is binding. Even if you could loot it, you would not be able to use it. Given wow's success I see little reason for them to want to revamp their entire item database just for a few servers. (If even that). Played (more than a month): SWG, Second Life, Tabula Rasa, Lineage 2, Everquest 2, EvE, MxO, Ryzom. Tried: WoW, Shadowbane, Anarchy Online, Everquest, WWII Online, Planetside Beta: Lotro, Tabula Rasa, WAR. |

you know... it wouldn't be such a bad idea to implant "a pvp full loot server" (no this will not be called the pvp server it will be called something like "full loot server")... because only the people that wants full loot will roll on that server anyway... and once they get tired of losing their legendary items to better players with worse gears... they'll finally understand the beauty of a non full loot server...

Well,
1. Everything is bind on equip 2. Full looting is lame 3. It takes more time and effort to get full teir 6 then to run up and gank some unsuspecting guy and take all his gear. The game itself is catered towards gear aquisition. You would have to change so many dynamics of gameplay (rewriting the game) to accomodate full loot. You would have to eliminate all soulbound items. The raids and instances couldnt be done without the uber gear. You would have to tone down the difficulty of all instances and raids to make sure that they could possibly be won. They could have separate servers for the full though if ppl wanted to play on those, but it doesnt make good busniness sense to create such server for few niche players unless there was a high demand for them. There isnt for this game.
Played : WOW, LOTRO, COH/COV, EQ2, SWG, and WAR. |

WoW is a gear treadmill. With a full loot system you would need a mechanic inplace to replace the gear people lose. Imagine losing an entire epic set that would take six months to grind for again through a lock out raid dungeon? It doesn't work. Now if blizzard decided to take every piece of gear and toss the patterns on the proff trainers then if you lost stuff people could just make more as long as you had the gold or resources to build the equipment again. The problem with that is you would need to revamp the raid system to only drop craftable materials and you would also need to drop the raid timers so guilds could actively farm dungeons so their entire guild could have enough mats to instantly replace gear on death...... Basically it would be too much trouble. Playing: EvE, Ryzom |

Maybe because the game has never been designed to be a full loot pvp game?.
Get a bloody grip on reality. |

Why? It's very simple - people who want full loot PVP are a very small segment of the population and always have been. They are a very loud and opinionated group too (which is fine) but in reality, its not enough subs to worry about. Trust me, at the height of DAOC's popularity there was a group calling for a FFA/PVP server and Mythic made on and its population (while a great community I hear) was miniscule compared to the other servers. |

What kind of question is this? Why isnt there one in AoC, LoTRO, CoX, WH, EQ2, VG, etc etc etc the list goes on and on and on. Only have handful of games have ever had one and they are in the past (aside from DF). You state your question as if it should have one as a given. |

I don't need to loot someones gear to further penalize them and make myself feel more macho. Worse yet, why would anyone ever venture out by themselves if they ran the risk of being jumped by 10 scrubs in green gear who could then proceed to get a free upgrade for their trouble of jumping a lone brave solo'er with their 10 man advantage? I PvP quite often, but why have nice gear if you have to wear a scrub set around when you are simply out and about harvesting mats because of the risk of this? No, the easy answer is is that it is a bad idea. If you need the reward of looting someone after a simple PvP encounter, and don't get enough satisfaction just from the victory, then you are not hardcore at all. You are in fact a carebear yourself who places way to much signifigance on a simple PvP encounter. |

(LoL!!!!!)... all because they are afraid of being violated in prison afterwards... and so they want to do it in a game... (LoL!!!!! omgwtfbbq? LoL!!!)... yea...
