I love CoX, never got to endgame. but I love it. Every now and then ill resub but there is something about it that I get bored of. I want to say again I LOVE COX lol. Not trolling here. I think champions online will be amazing because of the same reason you stated. A more immersive CoX world. Bottom line, I'm stoked.:D |

I was... I am gonna need a new game in 6 weeks or so once my TCoS sub runs out (having played right through it and all) and the wait for new content begins for it. I was hoping the CO was the one. I love comics, played the PnP RPG, had fun in CoH. This game should have been made for me. It isnt. CO to me is looking like a solo ez mode minimap led quest grind arcade game with an auto-target hotbar. They should have let mainstream IPs like DCU take this road imo, with them focusing on the 'real' mmorpg market with a 'real' mmorpg. Instead though of a co-op group based social game with interreliant system design, it looks like a 3D Street fighter. Not even Double Dragon, but Street Fighter. Now, this might be your thing, and cool if it is, but it isnt mine. If i see/ hear amything that changes this perception before launch then fine, I will be convinced willingly and gladly, but right now it isnt looking hopeful. |

I really think your not giving CO any credit. What I'm getting from you is that your worried about depth and difficulty level. I don't know much about the core system of CO (Leveling system, Combat and such.) But you should read some of the AskCryptic posts that are on their website and see if it reveals the information you want to hear. I think that it has the potential to be a phenomenal game. In actuallity I'm only concerned with the lack of marketing surrounding the game. I remember looking foward to WoW a year in advance.

Originally posted by Deto123 I'm definitely looking forward to this. In my experience the people at Cryptic really take pride in their work and enjoy their own creations. That really makes a difference in the games I find. They don't seem to view their games a simply a vehicle to milk gamers out of their cash, like some other companies I won't bother to mention :).

The cell-shade look I think will score pretty big with comic book fans and if the game-play is smooth, and does a good job with storytelling(I'm just assuming there will be, since it was a pretty nice part of the City games) this game could be a pretty damn good contender against the usual fantasy styled mmo that currently dominates the market. In the very least, I doubt we'll have to worry about the boar quests.:p |

No.. you will have to kill 10 minions instead. Actually, it would doubly suck if those minions were boar henchmen of the Boar Lord. If I was a dev I would put that in just to mess with guys who complain anout killin mobs in a mmo :P |

I personally don't have a problem with kill quests per se, just repetitive ones. When you have to kill the same mobs for different quests, instead of lumping them all in one quest(I.E. one guy gives you a quest to collect tusk drops of said boar, then another npc wants you to battle X amount of boars, and a 3rd wants the skins off of them once they are defeated). But I'm getting off topic lol. *saves post* I think Champions Online should do that! There. Covered myself. |

Because CO looks like just a simple fight game? actually your right.. I honestly apologise... SF asks for a LOT more then CO looks like it will in terms of learning curve. I never used SF as an insult btw, I acutally like the game, it's a classic, just a way to descibe a stright forward fighting game. |

Can't remember where i read it, but I'm pretty sure you're able to tweak the gfx in some fashion. Meaning, turning off certain cell shaded aspects.
In any case, i'm looking foward to this. The last 2 MMO's I was waiting for turned out to be failures. |

No. Say hello, To the things you've left behind. They are more a part of your life now that you can't touch them. |

Totally looking forward to it. I'll probably even break the new rule I set for myself in not buying a new MMORPG unless I've played a free trial of it first. I was in the closed beta of City of Heroes and played it long after launch, and if there's one thing Cryptic has proven they can do, it's that they can make a sharp looking, good playing, stable product with everything intact on launch.
Mythic made Dark Age of Camelot. Great game. Mythic made Warhammer Online. Everyone expected it to be a great game because of their past track record. It was anything but a great game.
Cryptic will do the job of taking what they've made in the past and make a far better next gen product for their resume of making games. The only thing that has me wondering is if they'll get both PvP and Endgame content RIGHT this time around, since those were the two failings of CoX. Even still, I'm willing to chance it.

I think the Yin and Yang of their development team was lost the moment they left "half" their team with NCsoft. That is, to say you should try it first before jumping the gun... |

I've been looking forward to this game since 1989. This is what CoH was supposed to be before they watered it down with the archtype system. |

Yeah City of Heroes was suppose to have an open system way back in prealpha. Then they used the excuse that you could gimp your character to much. |

from what I have heard from my beta friends its going to be an extremely small game, with an extremely restrictive skill system, and a bland quest system. Then again... we didnt really like CoH either...so may just be not a good demographic for me and my group |

Iam still on the bubble about this, i loved CoH because of the group factor, spell graphics, and character customazation...but fom what i read/saw this is a solo easy mode game. and is it me or does all the videos look bad except for the swinging video? the swinging video looks badd ass and looks like its a completely different game then the ones at comicon 09 for instance. pvp is arena too = bad imo. nemesis might be cool might not. it all comes down to if this game supports grouping or encourages solo play for me. playing: Dragon Age |
