I think the OP is right in thinking of dual class oO for eg: You start with a Warrior (1st Class) and then you ascent into a Gladiator or a Templar (2nd class). But ofcourse limited to which second class you can be lol. Sooo... yeah !! You can be a dual class at lvl 10. just ... a ... different .. way of thinking? xD |

I respectfully disagree. There are currently stigmas available in-game which will allow a cloth-wearing caster such as a Spiritmaster to equip heavy armor. That is technically a cross-class skill that would not otherwise be available to the Spiritmaster. That's only one example, but there are more like this. ZOMFG !! i can't wait to find a Cloaking Stigma for my Gladiator :DDD that would rock lol. |

Originally posted by stayontarget This was removed during CB testing (there was too many 2 handed poleaxe welding assassins running around pwning everyone). The Dev's said it was just to hard to balance it at the time but they did say it might come back in the future. I think it was hard to balance because the classes do not get weapon specific bonus, for eg: You get the point anyways lol. The problem is when a weapon is same for everyone - it's as deadly as the user. When a weapon is special for certain class - it's as deadly as the class who uses it. |

Originally posted by Khan187 lol no! ^_^;;; The dual class system in FFXI is probably the best example but it does come with it's own problems. Like having to level two (or many) classes, and you are not entirely free to pick whatever classes to put together, you have to pick classes that merge well and usually they are of the same type ex: Red mage/black mage: good! Warrior/black mage: wtf are you doing? No dual system and the ability to gain a few extra skills is better I'm starting to think, less of a headache. (,,,)=^__^=(,,,)Game Latte Vidcast |

that was just a noob example from me lol. What i was saying is that Assassins with Polearms wont be a problem if they miss the passive bonus for that weapon whereas Gladiators would be feared because their class get a passive bonus so to speak. Just some example to say why it was un-balanced IMO. PS: I was kidding about having a Gladiator cloaking :p |

By choosing a class at level 10 it means you choose to say if you are already a scout, to be a Ranger or an Assasin. Warriors choose to be Gladiators or Templars, and Mages become Sorcerers or Spiritmasters. You cannot start as a Scout and become a Warrior, these are infact not even classes, they are archetypes.
Cross-class stygmas were originally in the game and allowed one class to use another classes's weapon / armour. However, as far as I am aware this has been removed because it caused EPIC balance issues. However, it was noted that it may well be added abck into the game once it has been made balanced. ------------------------------
