I've never seen a game on this site stay past 8.5 for very long, is TCOS officially the highest rating game in the world now? |

Higest rated in the states but frankly the states are not the big market when it comes to MMOs these days. And dont get me wrong I love TCoS but lets put everything into perspective. The States and EU for that matter are not that big markeds anymore for games like these. "You are the hero our legends have foretold will save our tribe, therefore please go kill 10 pigs." |

O M G, what does it take for an MMO to be successful around here? To beat WoW? come on, that ain't gonna happen. How hazy is people's memory, a game can reach 250k subscribers and be classed successful and a hit. Yet around here,it isn't because it doesn't approach WoW's figures. "Yeah this game ain't no good only sold 250k". Is that people's response now? What a sad bunch of people on this site. |

TCoS will hit something like 8.0 rating after 500 votes, give it some time only 60 people voted for it yet. And yes, it is quite wrong to think that a game need 10m subscribers to be successfull. 150k-200k players are just enough for being successful. |

If anyone wants to try it use the torrent on the site, I got 820kB/s. 100 minutes to download 3.02GB wasn't bad. :P |

Well, it has hit as high as 8.9.. which is brilliant. I don't think it will last very long up there though... too many people who have never even played it will now just knock it down because it isnt their game... But, for the time, well done TCoS, fantastic first splash |

Im happy playing it, I hate quest grinders but im actually enjoying the quests and quest text in this. They need to get adding content though, and hopefully 1.0.4 will sort out some of the more glaring bugs (unresponsive or bugged mobs, revenge, borked bodyslots etc). I thought the starter zone, Hawksmouth was awful tbh and needs to be reworked if they want to keep people past 7.9. Its certainly a different take on the usual wow clone and I think for a lot of people it will be marked down for that very reason-its non loot based and doesnt have the holy trinity of aggro. Loot comes down to about 10% of your success in combat, its all about skill set up and choice, stat point allocation and how good you are at aiming and dodging. I hope they dont just shove tonnes of instances as an 'end game' and have us grinding recipes and sigils.. Im not playing right now,but im going to resub for 1.0.4 for sure. Well worth checking out if you want something thats skill and customisation based rather than being all about loot, but wont be to everyones taste due to it being fairly unusual.

Don't worry, Ndoors will discover this soon and have their zillions of accounts all vote this game low, and then Atlantica will be rated #1 again. |

Yeah but what did it score on its LSAT? It's better to lurk in forums and be thought a fool...than to endlessly "Quote" and remove all doubts. |

In the end, all the high ratings in the world matter for nought, its subscription numbers that matter and I doubt a single MMORPG developer out there is gunning for anything under 500K subs in their business plan. So by that mark alone, to be truely successful, games should reach and maintain 500K + Not saying games with less don't continue to run, and run well, but from strictly a marketing perspective, 500K is the magic number. Regardless, we seem to be hearing much better reports now that the game has been launched in the US, not quite sure why, perhaps Acclaim isn't making such a screw up as everyone feared. Many people are posting on these forums that they enjoy the game and seem to outnumber the naysayers. We'll find out in the coming months whether the game has legs or not.

Your semi-misinformed. The US may contain more home based connections, but our gaming population is only half of what the Eastern Hemisphere has. They not only play more f2p/p2p games, they play more games in general. US and EU players tend to be more picky, hence the reason most f2p games are made over there, and not here. |

Have you seen the ratings of games on this site? Crappy asian grinder clones score above a 7 on this site. Ratings mean nothing here. |

Great ideas held back by crappy production values and a horrible publisher. |
