Nice review btw, and i think that in fact the chars are not speaking in chinesse, so maybe the "chiken and stuff" when you bandage yourself means the same to them that to you :) |

Great write up and right on the mark with my experience in the game. You might also mention that there are non instanced elite zones that you need groups to quest in. |

Look people want something new of course we do as gamers we always wanting somehting new to tingle our sense''s spellborn has a interesting twist on mmo's however it didnt flunk out because of the mind set of mmo gamers it has flunked out because of the attrocious marketing and the whole spliting up of diffrent eu regions seperating gamers from there online friends.
And there isnt anything wrong with something new that doesnt bring anything new to the table once it does it good and in a refreshing style and this could be what aion is doing like wow done but with more eye candy. |

People always think of the negative when someone refers something to wow, right or wrong that's what people come up with. From what I've seen from the pictures and the descriptions it does have a similarity to wow but that's not a bad thing. WoW has done a lot of things right and it wouldn't be a bad idea for other games to copy that. Nice review op, it actually has peaked my interest in this game. I'll be looking out for it when it releases in the U.S. |

"Next time I snap my fingers, you better com running, Slut." and "What needs to be done?" LOL |

Guess this does prove it's no longer the beta server. Yep I did triple check and only 6 servers on that region. Must be the one they stuck me on.
As for what they are speaking, still a mystery to my GF and I. It's not English, not sure what language it is. She does says different things when casting/doing different abilities, all not in English. I have no idea what language it is. I assumed Chinese since it is the Chinese beta. As long as their customer service does the job then I don't care where it is based out of. WoW's customer service sucks and is the reason I don't play it anymore. Right now Aion's customer service could be run by 2 chimpanzee felons and they'd still have a jump up on WoW.

I think it is good that people compare game back and forth and one of them should obviously be WoW. Comparing something to something else is a good way for people to visualize what you are talking about and if you are going to compare a game to another, it's better to do so to a game widely played then one no one has. Things I have noticed between the Korean & Chinese retails: China is missing quest & content: Is kinda suks at a few lvls where you run out of quest (should have been added prior to launch, let's hope NA/EU version has it in at launch) Drop rate in China is way lower than what it was in Korea, this makes earning money all the more harder. (again let's fix this for NA/EU launch) Grinding in the abyss: Killing a mob same lvl for me in the abyss (china) gives me 13 abyss points compared to 175-200 abyss points in Korea. Also stigma shard drops via these mobs has around a 30% chance to drop per mob and you only get arond 3 per. You are suppose to be able to swap out your stigma's freely depending on the situation but with the low shard drop I don't see this happening in China. (you use shards to add stigma stones to your toon). You would think NCsoft West would be smart enough to correct these things for us western gamers, I guess we will have to wait and see how they handle themselves and aion. Yeah, China is using the 1.0 version, in the 1.1 abyss points are increased (but also the loss of abyss points through PvP is increased) quests are added for every level excepting the last 5 that still lacked quests until the arrival of 1.2, but I dont know why the drop rate would be lower, I had pretty bad luck with drops on the Korean version, got only like 1 blue while soloing (and it was a concentration ring), maybe you are having the bad luck I had ;P |

Maybe this is why NA/EU release is taking so long, Maybe we will get version 1.1 at launch and not 1.0v (god I hope so because 1.0v is lame). I really don't expect 1.2v at NA/EU launch. I really don't think the games release versions or translations are the biggest cause of a later NA/EU release date. I suspect it is all about the data centers and support to run them here. Most people don't realise just how much is involved in setting up a data center to run all these servers. The cost of getting a building, wiring it it directly to a core hub of the internet, buying all the hardware/software of those servers and setting it all up to run in the US is staggering. Plus they need all the legal stuff set up, staff to be hired, phone support, marketing materials (Americans require higher marketing then other areas) and all this costs cash. That cash will most likely come from the releases Korea, Japan and China. I bet it's a half a billion to fund a NA/EU release and a year to do it. This is not just a server sitting in the corner of an office building. Fan sites: Official sites: |
