I couldn't play on maxxed out settings so i was a little dissappointed after a few days of really hardcore playing, then i heard about it and i fixed one, now i play the game at full max and it runs smooth at 30-40 fps mostly at all time, what you can do if you get some fps issues tho even if you are using a new vgclient.ini, turn off everything in lighting options, when grouping or being in big cities etc. |

Did you turn on autoattack... seriously I've played every starting area and I can't imagine how you could die... Well maybe if you just ignored the npc standing in front of you with the quest maker over his head and just ran off killing stuff at random....
Make bard, try to kill lvl 2 mob and come back tell me about your experience |

Man, I'm not talking about higher levels where you get zillion abilities. I can easily kill 2 4dot mobs at a time on my 26 disciple. But bard at level 1 noway can handle a 2 lvl mob. He gets basically 3shoted in few seconds. |

Just goes to say Level 1 shouldn't be used as a game judgement. |

Sadly nothing special about it now, its a shadow of its formor self.
But in it's day it was amazing. A truly open world, if you could see it you could go to it. The monthly updates were surperb, so much new content, lore and quests. The shadow wars story arc was, in my opinion, a text book example of how to handle MMORPG game. The players actually felt like they controlled the story outcome. You had one set of players tring to keep the BZ in his prison, and another set trying to break him out. Was genuinly exciting to see who would win and how that would effect the next game update.
The PVE servers had so much lore and content, and the PVP server was fantastic if you're into PVP.
But turbine was to slow to react to cheaters and 3rd party apps (some of which were great and really added to the communitiy and game experience - but some were blatant cheats). And then the XP chains took over. For me anyway, the point of a MMORPG isn't about getting to the highest level in the fasted time. Its about not caring if your guys is gimped to hell and exploring the world.
I think thats the difference between an MMO and an MMORPG. |
