Darkfall has problems. It's not all roses and sunshine like people might paint it as. But, if you don't play it.. You don't have to worry about the status of the game. If you are spending your waking hours on the forums of a game you don't play, you may want to seek out help or at least try to get a job (I know, the ecomony is tough right now), or better yet, find a game you enjoy, and play it. You will find much more joy doing that, then posting on a forum of a game you don't play or plan on playing.

Let's point out the obvious.

1. Darkfall is not as great as Tasos says. You can't get 10k people in one area. You can't get 1k people in one area. Tasos has been full of crap now since he started

2. People are enjoying Darkfall. Even with all of it's flaws, people are having fun playing a huge knife only counter-strike map. You may not like it, but, get this, you don't have to.

3. There's bugs, crashes, exploits, cheats, hacks, zergs, naked pointless fighting, broken things/skills, missing spells.. etc. Yes. There are a lot of problems with Darkfall.

4. The game is in alpha/beta state. People fall through the world, things don't work quite right.. Yep. Lots of things aren't complete.

5. AV will charge you twice, or 3 times maybe. The GMs suck. The website doesn't inform. The FAQ isn't right. But, if you don't plan on buying the game.. none of these things affect you. Move on.

The most honest, straight forward, non fanbois/non hater review i have seen yet. Kudos!

I would agree with you, but like it's been said many times, people who come here to get information about the game (Like the game is in a pay for alpha/beta state, the shop isn't really open that much, some people are having fun playing Darkfall) can't, because it's clogged up with the same redundent posts from the same people.  Who don't plan on playing the game.

No I get it..but your post, even though you felt was honest and straight forward, was actually very negative in almost every aspect. The "obvious" as you stated is only obviouse to you. I was sharring my experiences that show your views are not as obvious to everyone...

If you were trying to point out DF's flaws you passed, if you were trying to give ppl a reason not to flame...you failed!

And as a side note, if you were trying to tell ppl of DF's flaws but that you still enjoy the game and only ppl playing it should have a comment...I will give you a "barely succeeds" :) You basically just added more fuel to the fire.

 I have to say, after 2 days of playing I haven't crashed yet. :/

That post isn t misinformation. Just recently sold my account and I can tell you that all happened at some point. Is it rampant or extremly bad, no, does it happen yes. Theres nothing wrong with someone enjoying this game at all, and I m glad not many are putting this game in the same sentence as UO as much anymore. That said DFO is a very rough around the edges, pretty shallow "sandbox". Will it improve, ya I m sure it will but AV IMO doesn t have the time nor resources to make a huge impact, before other notable games come out.

Since I started there was apparently one huge siege I obviously missed out as I'm still learning the game. Most of my in-game friends crashed during it even with brand new rigs, all sound turned off, and gfx set at minimum, with various other reports of problems, and it wasn't 2k people in one area as some people are claiming and lying about.

I enjoy PVP, its not a sandbox MMO but it has its pluses. It is not an innovative combat system. Some people ingame have told me that this is as good as it gets and that you cannot reinvent the wheel, obviously they haven't played Chronicles of Spellborn. But I enjoy it, requires no thinking and no skill, it just involves no lag.

What's up with some of the buffs? It's like they do nothing at all. I'm starting to think the attributes themselves are not working. Just starting I already experienced bugs, VM crashing.

I haven't fallen through the world yet but saw someone disappear and reappear a distance away. They were gloating about being able to super jump in the world /shrug. Almost every MMO at release has its share of problems and cheaters, but wasn't darkfall in development for 8 years? Uhm, some of these problems are just to "new" for a game that supposedly been in development for 8 years according to the devs themselves. That makes it pretty downright concerning as well as the fact something as simple as a website hasn't been updated or revised at all.

The reason I actually replied to this thread! I just got off the phone with my bank wondering why I was double billed. I just came from the DF forums to find out if this double billing was common, some even charged triple! I am an investment banker who does international transactions daily so don't give me the excuse "oh but it's international banking issues" no it's not! Not i, nor any of my clients over seas have EVER had a billing issues through oversea transactions.
