"The one you call messiah is a lie"--- Gary Numan |
So I guess to some extent they were telling the truth that CME weren't paying money, but since CME and this racing sponsorship are all being bankrolled by the same pyramid scheme and Gary Whiting owns them all it's a very narrow minded technicality. However those 10 posters left on the SGW official forums that actually believe TKKSnow would probably believe they were Asgard is if someone with a DEV account told them so!

The latest thread-closing post from tkksnow: In answer to the original poster's questions, as well as the topic of the thread itself, we are not setup to accept any donations for thee development of the game. As some people have quoted, with various nonofficial numbers, development costs are very high. While every little bit does help in the long-run, what CME is looking for now is long-term and solid investments so we can plan for the medium-to-long term of development schedules. Really what we need now is the support of the community who are interested in the game. No game is perfect, and no development is perfect either, we do the best we can under the times. So, I'd like to remind you all that this is a community forum. Please take your speculation to the speculation forum, and we'll deal with it with answers. This is not a Jerry Springer forum, once you throw a chair for no good reason or rip off your shirt, you'll be removed from the studio. So, to be clear, no amount of donations from the fans will be enough to help at this point. And don't speculate about anything or you will be banned. Geeked for FFXIV |

Latest update from the unverified site: 9/5/09 Update: We continue to receive paychecks every other week! It's amazing the people that have returned to CME, especially ones from other studios that haven't done shit for the past two years. Guess with the new direction, we have to take them. Payroll could be completely caught up here soon. Glad I did not give up. Work on our first person shooter continues along and things are looking good!
Meanwhile, the SGW community manager continues to insist that talking about this stuff--that searching for the truth--damages "the moral" [sic] of the staff: To say that these posts from our community, and other game site's communities, are damaging the moral of developers is only half the story.
Funny that their "moral" is being damaged by us bringing light to the MLM scheme attached to their game from day 1 and not by the scheme itself. Finally, just for fun, the word of the day is morale. Geeked for FFXIV |

Has anyone else heard about this - I have heard that Cheyenne has a new captain at the helm. Starting last Thursday, a guy named John Bellrose, came into the office and started poking around. He stated that Gary Whiting owed him money, so he was now taking over running the company until Whiting pays him. I wonder if this is the same John Bellrose that runs The Appraisal House - see link? http://www.ripoffreport.com/Mesa-Mortgage/Mortgage-Companies/Mesa-Mortgage-Very-misleading-7D59F.htm According to John's comments to some of the employees, Whiting is out and he is the new boss and he has made it clear that his focus is on getting a game out - he is not going to use investor money to pay old payroll or former vendors that are owed money from the past. He wants to make sure that Whiting doesn't get paid another dime or any of the rest of the management team. He thinks the employees and others should suck it up and wait to get paid when the game launches. Rumor has it that he has already fired Jenson and Hensley. |

Is John Bellrose the receiver connected with the Utah judgement? |
|||
|

The receiver named by the Utah court is Vick Deauvono. However, documents on the court site indicate that the AZ court has decided to not honor the Utah rulings. And there is no other case pending that could have that drastic an outcome, that I know of, unless there has been some action in a Federal court. (Bob?) So, I have no clue as to the veracity of the story. I'd be skeptical until we find some other verification. Edit: I see that Shane has logged onto the SGW official forums today, not that this is proof one way or the other, but continued access makes me somewhat doubt the story. And he hasn't posted any goodbyes, yet. |

^Nor will he. Shane on the matter;
Nope. I understand John Bellrose is working on behalf of some of the investors and has been by on a couple of occasions that I know of, but that's the extent of his involvement. And for the record, there are quite a few people in this position who work for different investors or investor groups who come in and check up on our progress. Like much of what you hear, there's a grain of truth surrounded by a lot of negative conjecture.

I have been following the forum for some time now. I have been waiting for fresh breath of life to fill the body of CME as the old systems and ideas are definately not producing results that the fans want to see. I have read up on the John Bellerose character and I have come to find out that he is NOT in charge of CME and he has not fired Jenson--or anyone down there for that matter. I read the link to the "rip-off report" that was posted about Bellerose. Alarms were going of in my head thinking just another flim-flam man on the scene. The report was written by a man who hired Bellerose to appraise his home (Bellerose owns an AZ Corp known as The Appraisal House, inc.) and he was very upset at the value Bellerose assigned to his home. He alleges Bellerose ripped him off. At the bottom of the report, was a link to Bellerose's response to the allegations. I read the response by Bellerose. It was brash, ballsy, but it cut to the quick...it sounds like Bellerose has a head on his shoulders as he responds to the guy that said Bellerose cheated him. This Bellerose guy doesn't take any shit from what I read-- The funny thing is, the man that filed the "rip off report" about Bellerose wrote a follow up report to APOLOGIZE TO BELLEROSE and to say that BELLEROSE WAS RIGHT and honest in his assessment. Apparently the homeowner got a second appraisal that was dead on with Bellerose's unpopular first report. So Whatever it is that Bellerose has in mind with CME/CMG/Whiting, et al. I dare say, from what I read of the man, he seems like he may have a head on his shoulders, so let's give him a chance. Fresh set of eyes is never a bad thing, especially from a person trained to evaluate options, who is also a buisnessman. And if Bellerose is calling for management to loose salaries for a time being; it sounds like not such a bad idea, after all. They should be paid to produce.

For those wondering why MGM isn't on top of this situation more closely: If they go bankrupt, who knows what will happen. |

Why is it that there are suddenly several new accounts with few or no previous posts showing up in this forum to tell us how wonderful John Bellerose is? When a guy starts getting that kind of attention form some unofficial fan club, it usually means that fan club is himself and he is using sock puppet accounts to sway public opinion. I'm not buying it. I don't know this guy well enough to say hes a douche, but the more whining I hear from his fan club the more I'm going to want him to STFU and GTFO this forum. Each man must for himself alone decide what is right and what is wrong, which course is patriotic and which isn't. You cannot shirk this and be a man. To decide against your conviction is to be an unqualified and inexcusable traitor, both to yourself and to your country, let men label you as they may. ~Mark Twain |

Clearly, you didn't get (and drink) your free shipment of Bellerose-Brand Kool-Aid. :) But, in all seriousness... your point does bring up a good point... especially here on the unofficial "SGW Deathwatch" forums... Unless JB has tossed Whiting into a river somewhere, I can't see him (or any one connected to Whiting/SGW) getting such a defense in this corner of the interwebs. |
