Seamless zoneless MMO with no loading screens, sandbox style play, something people have been screaming for since WoW dominated the market, twitch based combat incorporating a physics engine, arrow flights, spell flights, aiming your swings, massive 400 man sieges (no artificial limit on how many people can fight in a given place), twitch based naval combat, mounted combat (AoC managed to get that one in), need I go on? They did all that and more with only 30 people and a 10 million euro budget. WoW, on the flipside, with hundreds of people and many many millions of dollars managed to create a game void of ANY unique feature, not a single innovation.
But at least everyone who -WANTS- to play WoW -CAN- play WoW. Unlike DF. Just for clarification purposes. |

I mean seriously....if they had offered access to all instead of 5000, then another 1000 and another 1000 and so on, yes, then it would be an accomplishment.
But being sold out of a small amount of copies that they control is not an accomplishment. It's rather sad that so many people who want to play the game don't even get a chance to do so because the company can't handle it.
so in other words it's sold out?
thanks for clearing that up....
ps: equating 'sold out', which is factually true, does not automatically mean 'zomg blockbuster amazing'. it just means sold out. |

Their game sells out every day putting the subscriber base to over 10 billon active players online right now on 1 single server. Darkfall is a marketing success and all thanks to Tasos who is behind the massivly successful marketing campain. No other game has ever sold out ever. AV cannot meet the world demand on their product. They are currently negotiating to purchase Activision to get enought staff to meet the demands of their global success Darkfall. /sarcasm off.
Btw remember what spongebob said "Darkfall will be successful if you Believe" Omg im halucinating now aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Darkfall is a success omg ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh *shoots self in the mouth splattering his brains everywhere* Im going to sell you a dream. |

Technically yes. But also technically, by not providing the numbers by which it was "sold out" you are misrepresenting facts. Sold out with 10-20K subs would be more accurate. Those numbers are very low for an MMORPG. I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time. |

In my opinion, its not a sandbox. A sandbox would let you do anything you want and is without "levels". Darkfall has "levels" masked as skill-ups. It also forces you to join a guild if you want to do anything productive. If I wanted play this game as a solo crafter and never wanted to engage in PvP, could I? And how would I sell these crafted items. Is there an auction house? Player vending fronts? No, I'm forced to do trading. Which in the end, would most likely get me killed. If they don't have the tools in place to be a sandbox, then it isn't. They could add features later on which would likely make it more of a sandbox, but as it stands now, it isn't.
I have been intrigued with the guild dynamics, though. They have done that part of the game much justice. |

Darkfall does not have levels. also, by your definition, there are no sandbox MMOs as even UO and SWG had skill levels. solo crafting is completely viable in Darkfall, i regularly buy stuff from a guy based out of the elf capital that is doing fine doing just that. strictly speaking, forcing players to trade directly is *more* sandbox than having auction houses or NPC traders.
all your points are factually without merit. |

Yes, you're right. The game is sold out. Why are you gloating about it? A game claiming to be Massively Multiplayer that has sold out with only a paltry 5000 or so copies is a source of shame and embarrassment, not pride. It's hilarious that you seem so happy about it. |
