Honestly a lot of people coming to this game from this community are players of FFXI. Which had no quests that ever gave you exp as a reward, so frankly this chart encourages me a bit. Less quest Exp = more need to party / more desire to party. (Or atleast this is my hope, as I really like party type MMOs) |

How about just play the dam game and find out yourself and don't rely on some pie chart. There are people in china OB that are already lvl30 and it just launched a few days ago. BTW max cap in OB is lvl30, will be raised in retail...
Pie chart = fail

I love the way the open beta is out and people are still making random speculations.
After playing the game, the grind is definatly nowhere near the same as the normal asian grinder, id put it closer to WoW before they changed the xp tables. The game is constant quests, so progressing does not take long. The game isreasonable from what i can see. It's not grindy. The thing is that mobs give way more exp than quests do. You get most of your exp by killing mobs for the quests you're doing. |

These are all from the korean retail release so the still in beta argument really doesent apply. |

Actually that chart is not 100% accurate there are a great deal of quests they left out. Playing: Star Wars: The Old Republic, occasionally TERA. Waiting For: Guild Wars 2, and Elder Scrolls Online. |

Have you actually played though? They do a spectacular job of masking the grind by making the game itself enjoyable and entertaining, so regardless of what the numbers say, it really never seems grindy at all. At least my experiences have been this way, going on level 17 on my Asmodian and haven't had this much fun in ages. I even grouped with three chinese earlier, was only able to communicate to them using emotes, and we all ran an xp group for around 2 1/2 hours (the point of this is, being grouped with three individuals I couldn't even properly communicate with proved to be enjoyable in Aion, that speaks volumes about the quality of the gameplay, for me personally anyway). |

All im saying is if you dont think the korean style of grinding mobs for xp is fun you should avoid aion. If thats your thing on the otherhand, thats great more power to you, it seems aion will be the best of korean girnders. |

You're assumption is incorrect though, as the game is primarily questing from start to endgame. Grinding xp on mobs is completely optional, and in no way required to advance. You really shouldn't be "advising" anyone as to whether they should play the game or not, especially when you yourself are lacking in actual facts about the product you are attempting to inform others about (or in this case, mis-inform). Do your homework, instead of seeing some numbers and then tossing out some blanket statements. |

There is a link at the bottom of the blog post that will take you to the original post stateing that the graphs have been confirmed by a ton of players in the korean retail release. |

Look if u dun like game just move along then no need to make a fuss abt aion being a grinder. Also the blog u posted , the author is known hater of the game . IF u did some more research u find out alot ppl maxed there char in 1-2 month in the Korean retail , also every MMO has a grind it just depends how well a game can mask that. IF taking 1-2 month to reach max lvl for in a MMO is too much u then , i suggest u go back to play TCOS.

I realize they are from korean retail. You still don't seem to grasp this extremely simple premise though, the game is not grindy, grinding is just an option. How much clearer could I possibly be? Concede now, as you clearly have very limited information on the game and no personal experience with it at all. You really shouldn't be here, spreading disinformation and attempting to drive prospective players away from the game by posting some numbers from korean retail and then claiming the game is a grind. When it is anything but.

I read it, so what? Grinding for days without sleep was PERSONAL PREFERENCE on the part of those players. Is it really that difficult for you to understand? this is getting comical now. Keep entertaining me, this is a nice distraction from my coffee and morning paper. |

As I remember from this discussion back when that blogpost was written it was concluded that: 1. The chart doesn't include exp gained from monsterkills etc while completing those quests. It was just the reward exp from all the quests put together. 2. It doesn't take into account repeatable quests and exp gained while doing those. 3. It didn't include exp gained from doing instances and other groupquests and stuff. But I don't know. All the people who have tested it that I know of seem to think the grinding isn't a problem and that you might have to grind a few levels now and then if quests run out in your area. All reports I've seen puts the leveling time from start to cap around as long as it takes from 1-60 in old WoW. The grind for money is probably gonna be worse though. Haven't played myself, but it seems benign. |

IMO all MMO's are grind fests and any MMO Developer that says otherwise is lying. "Possibly we humans can exist without actually having to fight. But many of us have chosen to fight. For what reason? To protect something? Protect what? Ourselves? The future? If we kill people to protect ourselves and this future, then what sort of future is it, and what will we have become? There is no future for those who have died. And what of those who did the killing? Is happiness to be found in a future that is grasped with blood stained hands? Is that the truth?" |

lol u just basing all ur assumption from one source ,y not try asking some of non korean player who playing the korean retail . Also i have friends who playing Korean retail ,i rather take my friends advice and compare them with different source to compare and then decide if they were lying . But ur just blindly using that blog to say aion is a grinder because somone said so lol Look if ur so conerned abt it being a korean grinder ,wait for a review then from a reputable site then decide . Btw it seem no matter we say , u have already have made up ur mind abt the game already.
