Great patch that fixed a few big issues. The trolls will have a hard time spinning this one. |

having to be a certain rank to open your city's gate kind of sucks, i mean... seriously i can understand recruit/private not being able too, but thats about it |

No skilling up on invulnerable players and no skilling up with newbie weapons. Am I glad they've finally fixed this one after a few months of beta and over one month of retail... Everyone who wasn't quick enough to grind their skills up through hitting invulnerable targets at a bindstone is going to be left at a huge disadvantage. Reminds me of the acid pool exploit to raise rigor etc. -- same situation here. Stealth regen nerf. Used to be 0.5 per tick; goes down to 0.75 from 1.0. What's wrong with being able to quickly regain your health/stam/mana? I don't get it. Maybe I'm not enough of a masochist and/or too much of a carebear troll. Oh, it also seems they've fiddled with sound positioning, and every time they do that, it gets worse. After today's patch, I hear myself fighting a few meters to the side of where I actually am and the sound gets all screwy to the point it's impossible for me to tell what the hell is going on if there's more than 10 people closeby. Other than that there's nothing to complain about. It's true the servers went down around noon (Europe), but it wasn't their fault -- as Tasos put it: "It seems to be related to network issues external to our infrastructure." It's never their fault, it's usually some nasty trolls doing naughty things to their servers and/or their hosting companies. Like the time their servers got DDOSed on the day the beta was supposed to start, remember? Probably Blizzard and SOE teaming up to destroy their competition before they even managed to set their foot on the market. The servers were up again around 6pm gmt, just to go down again not more than 2h30m later. Up again at midnight, though, so no biggie. They went down around 30 minutes ago, but who cares, right? If you're not hardcore enough to put up with some downtime, go back to WOW because you're obviously a baddie. Thank Tasos the patch didn't cause any major issues and, as usual, the servers have been extremely stable. |

can i please ask...why the hell are these patch notes on the front page? shouldn't eevery game get this royal treatment? For a niche game which almost nobody plays in the mmorpg scene except a few people.....this is astounding that you guys keep putting PATCH notes on a front page. Where are all the other games patch notes?
Any mod/dev/admin wanna answer this?

Newbie weapons not allowing any skill gain at all after this patch is a very very big mistake. They should have at least allowed starter weapons to take your weapon skills to 25 or 50. Not good at all for the latest batch of new players with the amount of ganking that goes on at the newbie starter spawn areas. |

I do agree with IAMMMO. I think weapon skills should be allowed to level up to 25 max with default weapons. Otherwise it will be very difficult for new players to level up their skill for 2 hander weapon for example. I don't think they really thought ths through totally, but everything else in the patch is great. Some might complain about players that were able to level up Rigor and weapon skill to 100 already but they only think of the past and the present. Sure those guys too advantages for a month, but what is a month compared to something that is setting the stage for the next few years of the game's history. In the end, it won't matter. I guess that right now it does to you, but eventually, soon enough, it won't. |

regarding host server instability : Aventurine will learn the same lesson Funcom did when Anarchy Online was first released - business servers != MMO servers AO was nearly unplayable the first several months after release, with daily, lengthy server-side freezing and crashing, until Funcom finally switched hosts to one who had things configured to handle mmo loads rather than corporate business traffic. The change was dramatic. |

When people talk bad or negative about Tasos and Darkfall Online it is the 100% truth, that makes the DF fanbots mad. I know that it eats fanbots up that gamers are allowed to tell the truth about games here on mmorpg.com. There are no DF forum mods here that can ban accounts or lock posts for people talking about the game in a negative way.
Not all gamers are suckers and people who know the real deal will talk to those who do not. |

The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. When will developers (and players) become sane? Now go eat some grass like everyone else. |

The only thing Darkfall is best at being the laughing stock of the industry. The rest of the industry is going to use the Darkfall client as the premier example of how not to write a MMO. They should rename the game to "Cheaters Anonymous", a far more appropriate name. |
