Until I bought the game to see if it was really a good game as many said and I am satisfied. You trolls out there look for every little small factor and makes more excuses to degrade darkfall. My experience in the game was very exciting. In the beginning the GUI was weird but after a couple hours I was used to it. There is so much to explain but trolls will not listen and flame this thread and me. I got in game and did the various beginning and crafting quests and then headed out to my guild city. This is where the good part comes. I went on small raid groups with 20+ people and pillaged cities of our enemies. I felt the adrenaline rush when we attacked the inhabitants. This game is exceptional for tactics as when it gets dark, it is realllllly dark and you can stealth and ambush others. An example of tactics is when in our raid group we were going to attack and loot the main city of the enemy alliance. It was at night and we had to hide ourselves in order to gain an advantage and kill them with less effort. We hid behind several bushes and giant boulders and sent two scouts to gather information. They crossed the shallow river and crouch walked along the way whilst hiding behind everything that the environment provided. When we had the information we could decide how we would execute our attack. In this case there were equal amounts of people so we decided to let the 2 scouts lure a few of them out and then we would ambush them. It worked and we took down around 1/3-1/2 of them eventually but had to escape because they had reinforcements on mounts in the distance. I don't understand why there are so many trolls. The positives outweigh the negatives ultimately. This is a really fun game and will continue to be attracting more customers in the future. |

Glad you are having fun and didnt listen to the trolls.
If you notice there's been much less whine and bitching from them, even they are starting to realise that pulling arguments out of your ass does not a "honest criticism" make.
In a couple months when DF will have ironed out its minor issues and added more content, it will be a great game. Now its just in its infancy. |

Lol...there hasn't been much bitching because these trolls finally got a hold of the game and are starting to enjoy it like everyone else. |

I'm glad your enjoying it. Many of the most vocal critics of the game have admitted at some point or another that they have never played it. The game has its issues but its probably the funnest MMO my guys have played in years. We spent the entire night sailing around on rafts tonight and fought an enemy raft full of guys. It was fun as hell boarding them and taking them down to seize it. We also went exploring on some random islands and saw some pretty interesting places. If your in a good guild, you will enjoy this game much more than you would if your running around solo. What race did you roll as? |

Originally posted by wyrdaskolir I am glad you are having fun. But for some reason all I see in posts like this, is about the PVP of the game. Is that all there is? I mean really isn't this suppose to be a mmorpg? Now you can check my post history if you like, but I have not bashed this game yet. I still have a little interest left for this game, but at the rate of stories comming out like yours. My interest is fading. While pvp is fun, I expect more out of games of this genre,ie. Sandbox. So how about telling us some stories of the player merchants that are growing and doing well in the cities, and clan cities. Or about the trade routes that caravans have to use. Or how mercenaries for hire are fairing protecting harvesters, or merchants. For a couple of ideas. So far all I see is last night we sieged this city or we ambushed this clan etc. Now while that is fun for a little while. I can get that in any online fpsfor the most part. Called capture the flag. So how about it? I want more info that pvp. |

Yup, thats all there is ... PvP. I've played the game for a month and while I love the full loot pvp, city sieges and such, there isn't enough here to hold my attention any longer. People keep spouting "Sandbox this and Sandbox that" and after playing UO from launch until Ren, I can tell you ... Darkfall is no real sandbox . |

Someone with 4 posts, now that's credible. |

I too am glad you enjoy it. However I am under the impression by your wording that you are relatively new. Once the "newness" wears off will you enjoy it still? Dont need to answer, I know what that "newness" feels like, it takes awhile for reality to set in. I am more interested in reading posts from players that have a few months under their belt. Being that its not that old, I still have some waiting to do.
Waiting for: Final Fantasy XIV |

I would say mostle PvP. And the sandbox, it becomes what you make it to. But i with PvP we mean war. The very thing most other MMOs just talk about. In WoW we have alliance vs Hord.....but there is no real war for the players. In SWG we have Rebels agenst Empire...but there is no real war for the players. In DF there is a "real" war going on. Much like Europe in the 1600 (the thirty year war). So everyone is effected by this. If you craft, explore, RP. you will feel the conflicts. So its better to go with the flow then to fight agenst it. After all its a PvP MMO : ) |

The bashing has died down children because no one care about this anymore. Those who wasnt going to play have had their fun. Those who were gonna play regardless are doing so. Then the ones who were on the fence are now a part of the MO community. So it is what it is. Its a large UT map for the pvp kiddies. No harm no foul. Was fun while it lasted though thats for sure. And to the OP let the first week new factor wear off and in a month come back and say the same thing, |

Then I advise you to read this thread: http://forums.darkfall.cc/showthread.php?t=97 :) Ok I read the thread, it starts out with the player in PVP with the player getting ganked, then that player sneaks into a city appearrantly most deserted, and sneaks around, he fires a flame thrower at no one. Then says hi to another player and that player calls his friends, and they politely kill him, again PVP. So again all I read is PVP. I give the player credit for running solo in an enemies city, that would be fun, the first couple of times doing it. But not enough of what I want to know. Was the player a mercenary scouting the city for another clan? NO Was he a merchant trying to see what the merchant in that city was selling? NO So until I read a story of other aspects of the game that does not concern pvp. All this game is fanatasy based, fps, capture the flag style game. |

All I hear from you is "We went in a group of 20 and killed people and looted them and was fun as hell. So all you trolls this game is super duper amazing and you all are lieing!"
I fail to see anywhere in your post about the 20-40 other flaws that have been brought up about the game and disputed them. Why do we post less? Becuase people don't need to be told about the game anymore. You can easily go watch videos and read reviews of people have actually played the game. Personally Ive read more reviews disliking the game than liking it. It's fine that you are liking the game, however your post in no way reflects the major issues that countless people have brought up. Yes even people that have played the game.
On a side note making a flame thread and calling people trolls is not a good way to stop people from posting and making them go buy the game. |

I showed it to the CoTC and they rewarded me for giving them some vital information and for betraying them. I was planning it for a while so it became a successful spy attempt. Then I headed to the Terrible Company city who are sharing it with Awful Company and then rerolled an Alfar and now I am finally part of TC.
And to the person on another page of this thread talking about the harvesting/crafting/trading part of the game. I usually mine iron ore outside my city gates and then head to bank after an hour or so. It's really dangerous because there are MANY hostiles around the area because my guild has a shitload of enemies to the east of us (Hyperion). This game actually gives you an adrenaline rush, a survival instinct that encourages you to either kill or run for cover. When I get enough iron ore, I turn it into iron ingots by smelting it and then sell it to guild members who want to turn them into armor or weapons. Then I spend the money earned on mounts and decent armor for future pvp raids/sieges. So it all connects, I harvest resources in order to support myself financially to participate in PVP. There really are no caravan routes though, but there are traders in almost all cities.

Well almost for any troll you see you can look at their post history. They are almost all fans of pve games like LOTRO, Tabula Rasa, etc and are most definetly all outspoken carebears. Just be careful and do not allow them to lure you into arguments. Just report them to moderators and move on
Anyway I am enjoying the game. I've been busy for past couple days so didnt have much time to play. But this weekend I should have a lot of time. This is the game us pvpers have been waiting for. You can DODGE firebolts and arrows in this game yourself. How cool is that? There is no dice roll being rolled on the server that determines life/death. When two meleers fight in this game- they actually MOVE around and use tactics. In WoW and most any other horrid dice roll game, all meleers do is fight in ONE SPOT. And Spiking a target was so easy for guilds. You just call target on vent, everyone TABs to the poor sucker, and all attack. I've seen people die instantly in those other horrid MMOs
This all changes here. All that BS is fixed by merely getting rid of dice rolling. Finally, a true pvp mmo for us. and only cost $50 thats nothing. I spend over $120 for 2 xbox 360 games per month alone

Originally posted by PatchDay Go ahead call me a care bear, but i bet i have more time in real PvP games, than you sir, this is why i am a knowledgeable customer, and see darkfall for what it is. a mediocre, shallow, flawed from the design stage , amateur production, simplistic PvP game. Just because someone currently plays, and enjoys a PvE game, does not mean someone is a carebear. I am glad you are enjoying the game. do it with out assuming about people.
