There is a new 7 min. video released today with lots of shots of the GUI and actual gameplay. This game seems to be a lot further along than I suspected. Here is the YouTube version or you can go the their site and download the higher quality video. |

I can live with instanced PvE missions so long as the PvP isn't instanced. |

Just speculating, but it looks like the "instanced" missions they have in mind, would be similiar to Eve. Not really instanced in the classical sense, but randomly generated spots of in the middle of massively empty space, to generate the "instance" feel, without technically being an instance. The UI well, there is only so many things you can do with the staple and have it useable for a dogfighter as well. ----------------------- Played- SWG (pre-cu), AoC, VG, WoW, LoTRO,CoX, EQ2, DAOC, GW, PotBS, Aion, MO,APB, NASA, Fallen Earth, DCUO, Rift Playing- EVE, Black Prophecy, TOR Waiting for- Tera, Jumpgate Evo, WH40K, WWE, WOD, TSW |

This games looks more and more incredible every time i see it. And it certainly lives up to my personal hype, it looks and feels like a real space-sim. Excellent, and PRETTY! |

Yeah, I have never been a fan of their UI's. They either trying to hard or not hard enough. :) |

I think I cried when I saw it the first time...it was beautiful. The gameplay looks sweet. the UI i don't care about as I do about the missions and the gamestyle which looks like exactly what I want. Purpose in life is not to gain things, but experience. - Rover64dd |

Looks sweet. Playing X3 Terran conflict atm here; great game but I miss other people :) The UI was pretty clear and intuitive at a first glance, imo. |

If I can't fly or own anything larger then a fighter craft for PVE and especially PVP then its going to suck IMHO. The I hope the mission instancing is not whisking players away from the rest of the game world. Games I've played/tried out:WAR, LOTRO, Tabula Rasa, AoC, EQ1, EQ2, WoW, Vangaurd, FFXI, D&DO, Lineage 2, Saga Of Ryzom, EvE Online, DAoC, Guild Wars,Star Wars Galaxies, Hell Gate London, Auto Assault, Grando Espada ( AKA SoTNW ), Archlord, CoV/H, Star Trek Online, APB, Champions Online, FFXIV, Rift Online, GW2. Game(s) I Am Currently Playing: GW2 (+LoL and BF3) |

Meaning that they will probably be very expensive to build and they WILL require multiple people to operate. As you can see from one of the videos there is gameplay footage from the point of view of a gunner in a larger ship. In other words - BP is being handled in a more realistic fashion. Eve (which I see that you play) is hyper fantasy in the realm of ship control. The whole lore backing it involves your capsule and capsuleers being treated like gods and blah blah blah. BP is, obviously, not set in the same world as Eve. Controlling a large ship won't require hundreds of people like it probably should, but about 3-4 for the large ships wouldn't likely be out of the question. I would much prefer guild fights with fewer capital ships, a few frigates, but dozens (or hundreds) fighters and bombers over the globs of capital ships in Eve that is actually fairly ridiculous. |

I liked MMOs better when gamers didn't play them, and just geeks did. |

There are quite a few vids on Youtube. This game looks very nice but from the video looks like it might not be exactly MMO, more like Global Agenda is with created instances for small amounts of players. Anyway no news on this for months now. Is it still in development? |

Video removed,so i watched a different cinematic.I was not impressed, looks like another EVE with a new skin. The firing animations were just as cheap looking as EVE's.Ever see a UT99 Shock Combo?Well it looks far more impressive than what these games offer for animation.I guess their selling point is you can just get right into action, without wasting time on EVE's boring spreadsheet. They showed a station blowing up in the cineamtic,i highly doubt they are using destructive surfaces,so it will be nothing more than a scripted sequence,or it does not exist at all in real game play.BTW destructive surfaces are doable and since these space games offer so little content and interaction, the should at least they make combat look more impressive ,with destructive surfaces. I will tell you why this game is going to be cheap, there is ONLY 2 factions,so you get only 2 choices to play a side.Same garbage as Aion tried to pull off, releasing a game in it's cheapest form. There is going to be literally no content, they themselves claim it is just a PVP combat game and it will play no better than EVE.You will do the same thing as EVE acquire modules to equip your ship.Since NEOCRON was at least a decent effort for it's time,i am surprised Reaktor did not put more effort into this game. The problem with their design is that the niche crowd that would play it are already in EVE ,these guys are going to struggle big time to make back their investment.Honestly this is no different than loading up XWing, same thing ,grab a ship and fire at each other,it is not a rpg ,just a mmo. http://www.youtube.com/user/Napolianboo#p/u/15/rCYLLQCNc1w |

With the level of tech you see in Eve or BP, having any people on board at all is completely unrealistic. Eve's lore specifically mentions instant comm over any distance, so why can't the capsules be safe aboard a station while controlling the ship remotely? Wouldn't AI in either games' world be able to far out-perform any human pilot? Don't bring up realism here, because most sci-fi is anything but realistic. I prefer to call it "techno-fantasy". |
