What do you hope they add or change to the game? Here are my thoughts. A lot of people complain that it's repetitive at the beginning... I think this could be fixed by adding some enemy models to the game. Changing a patch of the bears/boars/wolves to something new. Just to visually keep it interesting and make it feel new. I for one would love to see more enemy models in the game. I think that would help more than people realize. Spiders, or even change the color of the models thus wolves can become foxes whatever. It doesnt bother me how it is now because I'm used to it from FFXI but it would help and I think new players would feel like there is more content ect. Anyway I love the game though, just thought I'd try to create a topic that we could chat about >.> |

Also as other more experienced players of the game have pointed out, they do improve drasticly as you progress deeper into the game. The first zone really is a tutorial. The game also offers you different quests based on which of the 5 High Houses you choose to ally yourself with which is something you dont normally see in most mmos. It means that not everyone will always be doing the same quests and conflicts cana arise as opposing house members will have to venture into PvP areas to complete their missions. Oh gosh! Player conflict over the internet? Surely not! This is a step in the right direction as it is moving towards a more dynamic gameworld that offers a different gaming experience to players based on the decisions they make.....although its not quite there yet. |

Despite its odd Tim Burton style cartoony look there is something oddly real and life like about it. Part of that is due to the fact that there arent massive amounts of different creatures living next door to each other.......why would there be? The forest in Hawkslanding has bears, wolves, boars, mauribeaks (flightless bird creatures) and various different humanoid bandits plus a small number of boss creatures. Why would the starting area need more than this? To appeal to all the childish newcomers to the game with incredibly short attention spans? Ermmm well stuff what they want! The kind of people who get put off the game by not having hundreds of different monsters to fight are the kind of people who get put off by not having loads of loot to grind or not having a massive selection of pointless races to choose from.......basicly the kinds of players who cant think beyond what they have seen in other mmos. I like Spellborn because its different to everything else. If it starts catering to what the masses want then it will lose some of what makes it appealing for me. |

I'd like to see my efforts rewarded with better looking gear. What's the point of questing if I can just buy it from a vendor? Even a lot of the broken gear is just common stuff. In 20 levels, the only item I found was a unique (I think) sword. I was pretty stoked to get this and had the mats to get it crafted. It just so happens I had to destroy the sowrd to recover the sigils because it wouldn't equip after taking it off. That pissed me off. Now I'm back to having a vendor bought sword. I want some uniqueness in looks. Quest rewards I can deal with but broken gear should be pretty unique in looks. This game touts looks but so far, we all look the same and the gear isn't any better looking than vendor stuff. Does it change once you get out of Ringfell?
Edit: Ringfell is the Devil!

I would change the fact you start out with the very stereotypical quest. Kill 10 Bears. I was like..Did they really do that? lol.
But really though I would make it so you can skip the tutorial, that's just annoying after one character. I would add some more attractive face options for female characters. I would make it a little easier to learn the combat system than they did. I basically had to spend 3 hours just getting used to it, and I'm still not that great at it. Player Housing would be fun.
Other than those, I really like the game. I love the art direction it took, and I like the music. Playing: Star Wars: The Old Republic, occasionally TERA. Waiting For: Guild Wars 2, and Elder Scrolls Online. |

1) Change some of the starter area quests around..seriously, how many times do you kill the same boars and bears? Some more interaction with the ousted in the area would have been nice, theres certainly enough of them. 2) Mounts. The game really needs them.. 3) Beards, more face options, staves, crossbows, robes, cloth caps and cloth belts made available at creation. 4) Recall points. I know some people wouldnt like it, but id like to be able to recall like in other games using a stone or whatever. In fact, linking it to your house in some way, like having to search out secret locations on each shard you can bind to. 5) More menaces! I love the menace quests, its an excellent addition to the game. |

You can have a helmet or a hood (damn hoodie wearing ninjas all over the place grrrrrrr) but not a hat.........and no beards. Hmmm. I wouldnt say the game REALLY needs mounts though, partly because I personally dont mind running around on my little tootsies but also because of the nature of the shard worlds. Each zone is like a vast cavern and for some reason I just dont miss mounts in this game. I suppose they wouldnt hurt though. |

More clothing, armor, and weapon options at character creation. This game touts the ability to look varied but there are like, what, 3 or 4 bows/shields to choose from? I don't call that a lot of variety. And you're gonna look like this for a long time, so you better like your look. |

The game offers you a large array of combinations to tailor your look at character creation, way more meaningful choices then say Vanguard, woW, or EQ2. The rest you have to find. I have no idea why you people thought it would be all there from day 1 of playing. SiL never pretended that you would have all looks and choices open to you from L1. They made it clear you would have to earn your stuff. Btw, I have changed my look for the third time, and I am only L22. I think your mistaken. |

Oh no, how terrible that someone should give an opinion on an online forum! More seriously, saying they should take out the combat system and go to vanilla auto-attacking would remove the game's very reason to exist. That's like going to the WAR forums and saying they should take out RvR combat. Take away a game's primary gameplay justification and you get an awful game that satisfies no one.

I am a Spellborn Fanboi. Now that I've gone and said it.....there are a few things I would ADD to the game, and many of these I'm sure will be added down the road anyway. 1: Mounts...and not just mounts, but mounted combat. The ability to fire a bow or spell from the back of the mount, to swing a sword or axe, and to generally have a realistic mount system. Now, this is conditional on the mounts being REALISTIC, and fitting with the lore. No flying pink dragon mounts....but those horses would be appropriate. Maybe some wild creatures later in the game that Skinshifters could tame and sell, ala old-school SWG. 2: the ability to change the goddamn chat colors, and or give us the option of a solid black background on the chat window. Seriously, this is a MAJOR issue for me. My eyes can't take reading green on green anymore. 3: As others have mentioned....an ability to skip the tutorial...some more customisation options. 4: "CHARGE!!" Ok, really....battlecry sucks. I mean, the skill is great..but the vocalisation NEEDS work. It sounds weak. How about a primal roar of bloodlust??? 5: I'd like to see more, and more USEFUL Sigils at lower levels. No to mention that we can't use skill sigils until lvl 11...why even have level 1 skill sigils?? And why slot a sigil that gives 0.5% damage increase?? I like the idea, but they need some work. How about sigils that increase movement speed, or hit points, or give you a personal light radius, or some other interesting effects, instead of just + to damage, + to range, + to healing potency? 6: I'd LOVE it if the server knew you had crashed, disconnected, etc...and put you in some kind of stasis, as seen in some other games. No one likes to lose a pep level because they got a No Label error, and died while traveling on a shard ship. 7: the ability to sort items in the AH by level. I don't want to sort through all the level 1 crap to find the stuff I can use at my level. 8: Don't advertise the game as F2P. It's not. Advertise it as a P2P MMORPG with no box fee and a free trial. Too many cock-mongering smack-tards don't even bother to read the big bold letters on the web site, and then freak out in the game when they SUDDENLY find out that they cannot go beyond level 7. 9: A bank. Yeah, I have a lot of inventory space....(and I love it) but that's going to fill up eventually. A bank...maybe even one shared by all my alts (ala Tabula Rasa) would rock. 10: a deeper crafting system. I know..people are going to cry about suggesting this...but my answer to you is: "don't fucking craft then." Seriously, though....this "collect 3 parts and visit the forge" excuse for a crafting system is just sad. Give us something at LEAST as engaging as LOTRO's system....which wasn't bad for a themepark MMO. It would be nice if EVERY item in the game were craftable, given the appropriate materials. Maybe a deconstruction system, where you can only craft an item after you break one down to turn it into a recipe.....and then there's a good chance that you will just break it, making it less likely that the rare stuff will be crafted. (Ala MxO) All in all, I love the game...I like the direction it's going, and I'm sure most of these points will be touched on at some point as a natural evolution of the game. What we have so far is a good "rough draft" for what could be the best MMO to be released in half a decade. Gonna be one hell of a ride!

1. Mounts 2. I'm not totaly sure about this one, but I'd like to see numerous short instances. Maybe not as complex as the DDO instances, but along those lines. Caves are cool but they are a little repetitive and there aren't enough. I like dungeons. 3. Something more compelling to do with collected resources. Maybe even a little grindy. I have all these resources, but I really don't need another 'Left Glove' or a 'Scale Shirt'. They should make us craft upgraded body slot items, consumables, and sigils (even in the newbie areas). 4. Race specific starting areas. Just for variety. It doesn't even need to be race specific really. I know the resources would probably be better spent in the mid/high level content, but right now the masses are all in the low level areas. Many of us have been through the low level area 5-6 times already. Its the most repeated content area in the game. 5. A hotbar for consumables and emotes. I really like having buttons for emotes. I use them more and more effectively if they are one click away. 6. There are a bunch of miscellaneous tweaks. Skip the tutorial, changing high houses (er 'infiltration' and 'betrayal' to add a RP twist to the process), more intuitive ladder climbing (its easy to fall if you're not super careful), etc. |

There's one thing I don't understand about some of these mmos. Why are the tutorial areas so boring? The game designers should know that the tutorial area is where every game really needs to shine (very bright). This should be the place where the game gets the gamer engaged in the story and/or gameplay. This is the area that should have the biggest impact; that lures the gamer in and gives them that wow-factor that we're all looking for when playing a fresh, new game. When I start a new mmo and the first thing is to "go talk to so-and-so to learn about this", or "go deliver captain Johnson this letter", or "go collect 5 herbs from the garden and give them to Mr Smith", or "Go kill 20 goblins in Mrs Jones' basement and bring back goblin dung for proof of the killings", I really just get turned off and don't even want to play anymore. When I quit the game, I have no feeling to go back. Whatever happened to those games that you think about all day long and can't wait to go home and play? After World of Warcraft, I haven't been able to find an mmo that makes me want to come back and play. Do you know why? Because I don't want to play World of Warcraft again!!!! I did it for a long time and I don't want to do it again! I don't care how different this game is, it's starts off like all the others so I'm totally turned off. This genre really needs to shift or it's going to fizzle out very soon. So with all that said, what I would change in this game is EVERYTHING. Mmos support thousands of players on a server. Is this all that the game designers can think up? Delivery quests, mob grinding, group hack-n-slash, tedious and repetitive crafting, dropped loot that you sell back to the vendor 99% of the time, clicking through quest dialog to quickly fill up your quest log, and /dance? Sheesh, there's no wonder why ganking can be fun. |

Also the variety of mobs is too thin......We can only kill so many bears, boars, and wolves before we lose interest.......Also 2 races?? That doesnt exactly make me want to play any alts.......It just seems like TCoS is missing alot of things and even though the first few levels are free I just have no interest in logging in to play anymore. |
