Every other post I read over on the SWTOR boards talks about player cities, player housing, profession trees, crafting, harvesting raw materials, player made economy. etc etc.. OMG I even heard someone ask for entertainers to be a class to play... Psssst.. PRE - CU is DEAD DEAD DEAD and for good reason... Help us all if TOR turns into a failed remake of SWG.. |

I agree with this, that EQ in space piece of crap game is dead and gone (Hammers killing At-St was dumb as hell). I hope that game rots in hell and never recovers from the massive , dispersive blow it took from all the players leaving. I agree, eventhough I am a veteran of SWG myself (pre CU) I have come to realize after almost 3 years of constant playof that game back in the day, the dynamic of it was shitty and more fanatasy than scifi.
I hope the game is very successful with players that respect the Star Wars universe for what George Lucas wants it to be and not SOE (spam fest as Pre CU and now Star WOW Galaxies). |

The point of this thread is what? Bioware has made it clear what type of game The Old Republic will be. So if pre-nge SWG fans want to talk about what they would like to have in game who cares. SWTOR is already well underway and is going a different direction the SWG everyone already knows this. Don't you? No amount of talk by SWG fans will change this. So why would you think it could ever possibly be a remake of SWG? Your fear it will be another SWG is ridiculous ridiculous ridiculous. |

Did it ever occur to you that you're not their target customer? That no matter how bold or contrarian you are they won't change their game to suit you? It will not fail because it won't be a remake of any incarnation of SWG. "Any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice." ~Greys Law |

and why would the inclusion of player cities, housing, crafting, a skill system and a player made economy be a bad thing? even if these aspects made it into the game, i dont see how they will hinder your chance of pvping all they long with your glowy stick. |

You needn't worry. SOE's failure is well known and no company worth anything will EVER use that MMO abortion as an example. MMOs played:SWG,NGE,Warhammer, World of Warcraft, Star Trek Online,Eve, Star Wars the Old Republic. |

Bioware is making their own game. They seem to have proven they know how to make successful games. And they seem to have enough common sense. They'll know to ignore forum requests for game mechanics from other games (SWG or any other) that don't fit into the Star Wars setting or dilute the kind of game they're trying to make. I don't think the OP should worry about this game becoming SWG 2. That boat sailed and sunk already. |

No way in hell swtor could fair. Blizzard even went out of their way to bring to light that they expect swtor to do not just "Great" But "Amazing", and most deffenently be a big contender.

Eh, George Lucas wants Star Wars to be a playground for 8-year olds, so I hope Bioware's writers stay far away from that and closer to some of the adult novels and comics that are of far higher quality than anything Lucas has ever written. |

TOR aint no kids game lol. BioWare don't like making kids games. Even KOTOR wasn't a game for kids TBH. T for teen maybe, but I'm sure they will push it with TOR like all their games. Anyone here ever play MDK, remember the pron mag in the bathroom on the ship hahaha? |
