limiting the max number of players to a bobbite capshipyard system, but doing it after the bobbite forces had assembled and before hardly any enemies had appeared... yes, this was a while back, but it was something ccp readily 'fessed up to.

 

t20... MOST of K's accusations were admitted to by ccp, the rest were just ignored, so stupid people probably ignored all those other items, which held as much weight as the items to which ccp admitted.

 

that kenny alliance, that's been around for months... but ccp let them change their NON-OFFENSIVE name (allowing them to keep sovereignty AND revert back to a BOB name... which according to dianabolic -- we didn't want anyways), which they never let anyone change before... much less change it to a name with more characters than are allowed?

if you did a LITTLE research on eve-search, or even this forum, you could pull up other items, to which CCP ADMITTED their wrong-doings.

Have CCP employees cheated in the past ? Yes, most definitely.

Will it ever happen again ? It's possible.

Does this happen in other MMOs as well ? Yes, yes it does.

Why does Eve stick out in this regard ? Because Eve is a single shard game with so many people on it. Since everything has an effect some where in the game universe things like a cheating dev giving out blue prints is a much more noticeable than say a dev handing out a couple of high level items in other games.

I do not condone cheating by devs but at the same time I can't do anything about it really. CCP is open about their exployees playing and this as a whole for the game is great since the devs actually have hands on knowledge of the game (despite what some people like to think).

We do now have the CSM for dealing with issues like the ones decribed above and BoB having their name reverted back to Kenzoku is a sign that CCP will listen and do the right thing. The fact it got changed to BoB in the first place was a mistake but it was fixed. People do make mistakes and should be allowed to fix that mistake without being totally chastized for it.

CCP are not perfect and no devs out there are, but god damnit Eve is still the one game out there right now that has an actual soul. Everything else out there now is bland and generic with no feeling. (Darkfall looks like it could be interesting but I am waiting to see on that game for a while still).

I would have banned you too, being you apparently bought isk (few people beg for proof that they bought it if they know they didn't, mainly becuase they were never caught for something they didn't do), then you were hostile, rude, aggressive and if your message back was anything like this post you sound like an asinine teenager.

I've found CCP rather nice with the customer service, they had no problem transferring thirty days of play from one of my accounts to another, even though there was 25 left (they took a while to get around to it). I've heard some nasty stuff about they're support, albeit very little.

In the end, please, stop whining, learn your lesson here. If you didn't do it, be calm, stay polite. If you did do it, faceplam, learn your lesson, don't complain, and don't do it again.

i don't believe it was the CSMs that intervened in the recent name/sov incident.  it was a general outrage by the playerbase.

I've been playing eve the better part of 3 years. I was there. I know all about it. The problem is that I've worked in the industry for a very long time. What happened at CCP isn't really different than what happens on a weekly basis at other game companies. CCP has been very open about what happened. They instituted an entire department to help fix the errors and stop them from happening in the future. The introduced the CSM program, allowing the player base to vote on people who go to Iceland, give input to the devs, and make sure stuff is cosher.

Now tell me, please, what other MMO company involves its player base like this at every level of design? I'll wait here while you scour the internet so that you discover that none do.

They were exploiting the game from the start with 3rd party tools - and instead of banning all 2000ish of them CCP added the tool into the game (friendly/unfriendly in chat marker).

Goons together with the russians exploited the old server structure to crash nodes at will and thus getting their goals without fighting for it.

Goons whining is ironic and sad, but I guess it's fun to throw rocks when you live in a glasshouse.
