Or a third conclusion: There is not enough demand to open another server. If the game was truly growing and there was a tremendous demand for the game, Aventurine would make the sign-up and purchasing process easier and they would open far more servers. So my conclusion is that either there is no demand or they simply do not care to make the process more approachable. Either way, its a negative in my opinion. |

yea you can hate the game all you want but we need ppl to stay INTERESTED in it (you can let the fanboi's BUY it) until it starts to shape up into a real game in 6 months+ This game is our only hope, if DF tanks we have to wait several more years for a game that fulfills this niche(which is the most likely scenario, since the ADD kiddies at mmorpg.com and forumfall DEMAND that the indie fail company AV give them a completed game on Day 1, something no indie company has accomplished with an mmo, especially one of this scale). MAYBE MO will turn out to be like DF in 5+years (when technology gets good enough to THINK of handling 150v150s on the U3 engine), though MO will be fun for people in it just for the real time combat and full loot (there are a lot of unkowns about MO right now, and according to the information summary section, apparantly territorial warfare is out for launch, guild cities are instanced, and factional warfare will be a big deal) When I'm energetic I'm: When I'm at default I'm:

Darkfall players most dont use xfire. And who cares about those numbers we all know it have 1 server around 16k players now and AV slowly let more buy game its after all a nich game as always intended. |

I KNOW, other games don't have *true* PVP. Its not really PVP unless everyones wearing full plate and smacking someone with a halberd. Only games without autotarget can be considered PVP too, even if the resulting combat system makes Morrowind look like COD4. Plus, everyone knows Aventurine invented FFA full-loot PVP and NO other game has it. Darkfall is sooo hardcore, 2 H4RDCOR3 4 teh carebears!111 If you die, you lose everything that was on your character and it takes a couple hours of macro harvesting and goblin slaying to get it back. Man, I can't imagine a more hardcore experience. Well if a game existed in which PVP could result in the loss of ingame assets worth an estimated 16.5k USD, i'd just deny its existence thats what i'd do! Its just not real PVP like Darkfall, its just "PVE with pvp-lite mingled" and you're a "carebear with a slingshot" for not basking in Darkfalls glory. |
