I just hope this game doesnt get most of the DF crowd, which is by far the worst community of people Ive ever had the experience of playing an MMO with....However this game feels like it will attract a big crowd from EVE which would rock because that game is the complete opposite of DF.....I cannot wait for this game!!!!! Playing : Aion, MO Played : EVE, GW, SB, DF, AoC, WoW, WaR, L1, L2 Loved: DAoC, EVE, SB, old WoW, L2 |

You know the sentence: rats abandon the ship first ? :] As it goes to EVE, how big gamers community does it have ? -- Remember, your advantage lies in your opponent's weakness (J) |

If anything is assumed to be other than bullshit, theres something wrong with the perspective. |

It is not really hard to make a good MMO at these times. There are so many crappy ones being made. But living in hope from the developer hype, is not a good idea (funcom anyone?). But be my guest, you have been warned.
99% likely it will just be another badly put together MMo, that just does not make it great and enjoyable to play (other than for the few noobs that would play every MMo under the influence of being brainwashed) |

Well indeed, no-one has played the game yet and there's not a lot of information about the actual game except the concept and the fact that the graphics seem to look pretty nice. And alas it's true, hardly any mmorpg seems to deliver after it's been hyped. Cast your vote: The importance of character customisation |

Well, allow me to disagree. There is alot of detailed information available. A 100+ MB power point presentation with all intended game features, embedded clips and a lot of mechanics, a pdf with a very detailed break up of the flagging system, some clips and a whole lot of philosophy behind the game. Compare it to SW:TOR and its current hype; apart from some nice vids and clips and some illustration compilations there is nothing released on game mechanics. All we know is that the game is 'storyline based with henchmen' and that there will be different paths to choose for every class. We know FAR more on what kind of game Mortal Online is intended to be. Game mechanics tell you the most about that and we have gotten plenty of info on those. Flagging system: www.mortalonline.com/files/flagging/MO_Flagging.pdf Latest update (may): www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/361/view/forums/thread/235266/HUGE-update-080509.html |

I agree with the people in this thread that're telling people to calm down and wait for the game before claiming it'll be the next best game. I won't lie, I am looking forward to Mortal Online. I almost wet my pants whenever I read something about it, or watch a video, i'm just that excited. However im concious that this game might not be anything like they say when its released, I also acknowledge the fact that this game hasn't been played by anyone yet. But does that stop me from getting excited? Hell no. There is nothing wrong with getting excited over something, even if you fully acknowledge that you might be let down when it's time for the crunch. MMOS played: WoW,War,Cabal Online,AoC,Lotro,Fylff,EQ2,UO,RoM, |

Im too realist to expect it to be all what the devs say it will be.

It certainly has the potential to be a really great game. I'm not quite sure how I feel about the first-person view... |

You're calling everyone out in a sweeping fashion and straight out tell them that they're dumb to have all this "blind faith", despite most of us clearly just being generally interested in the game. Then you went on and compared the game to Darkfall which is classic trolling. To be honest, the only one with any sort of "cultish arrogance" on display here is yourself. Maybe you need to step back and exhale a few times before you make any more future posts.
Maybe poor release after poor release after poor release has soured my view on all new MMO's. I do not trust game Devs anymore or game companys. Its not just DF. Pick any recent MMO of you likeing and I can probably tell you features that were promised at launch but broke or just flat mising. I just fail to see how a game is great when its not even in beta and no one has played it.
Could you please make your text color dark grey. It's hurting my eyes with its glare at the moment. mmkay. |

Then more of the carebears need to play, and let developers like SV know that open world sandboxes are profitable and not just the domain of the neanderthal red=dead crowd. I can't stand PVP, but I plan on moving my guild to Mortal because of the crafting, the exploration, and the roleplaying possibilities. The chance to have a world instead of a game is worth being Pk'd a few times. Hell, I gave Darkfall a shot for the very same reasons, but the crafting was a bad joke, and there was literally nothing to do but join in on the great ganking circle jerk. Mortal seems to have a lot more going for it, so don't let the open pvp scare you away. |
