Proof that it's pronounced I-on. Learned a lot of stuff I didn't know before. I never knew about the moving around thing. That's why I have seen people move around so much. Some how I pictured Liz with blonde hair. oh well. |

Well it looks nice, but then friggin everything looks nice these days. I'm on the fence, for they didn't touch on the three biggest turnoffs for Eastern MMO's being adapted for here. 1) They keep mentioning that they are using buffed GM flight, which means that normal playing means you're going to have much less impressive flight interactions. 2) No mention of death penalty. Knowing the crazy Asians, you will take xp loss, a [stacking] stat debuff (possibly permanent without special items if NC follows the Lineage route), and even item/gold loss. 3) Loot grinding. Unless they severely tweak all of those, I'll stay the hell away, though I'll probably at least give it a try. These games get very old very quickly unless you have friends around to suffer with you as I've learned in other notable MMO games. Remember, it has to be fun to be a game. Grinding is a bedroom activity, and the point is definitely not to do my wife as fast as possible. |

I like xp loss upon death, it makes for better pvp. should be looting also! tired of all these carebear mmo's. everyone complains about how korean games are all alike, well take a look at the west games, all carebear! |

What do you mean by "much less impressive flight interactions"? All they buffed was duration... Who cares if they havnt mentioned death penality? How can you ask them to tweak something you openly know NOTHING about?
But loot grinding I can understand :) |

If you want to stay at level 3 eternally, be my guest. I'm taking my wallet elsewhere. This isn't being carebear, it's being stupidly masochistic.
@marinrider Well that's kinda the thing. If duration has been buffed for the demo, in reality you're going to be stuck to short bursts of flight, where it's a tacked on gimmick rather than full fledged joy of soaring the skies, like say in the Outlands or City of Heroes. At this point, we don't know. I care, because not mentioning it means it's possibly rather brutal, and announcing it here would be very bad PR. I'm not asking for tweaks, I'm asking for information :) Again, we don't know about this stuff since it wasn't mentioned in the video, so I'm just urging caution for anyone who may be hyped up to be sorely disappointed later. I've been there myself anyway. Remember, it has to be fun to be a game. Grinding is a bedroom activity, and the point is definitely not to do my wife as fast as possible. |

As far as I am aware the pvp mainly comes into play at level 20. And then you have to specifically go to the abyss. There are portals that will occasionally open on the mainland and allow access to the other side for pvp, but those only happen occasionally and don't last very long (NCSoft said non pvp'ers can wait it out or hunt elsewhere while the event is happening if they don't want to participate). At level 10 you get flight. Flight is fairly limited depending on where you are at. I believe you can always glide to safety, but actualy flight is limited by the aether around you. In the abyss you can fly for much longer because the aether concentration is much higher there. Not sure about loot grinding. However, the developers have stated you can either quest for things/xp or grind for things/xp. Apparently they are trying to appeal to both western and eastern playstyles. They kind of had too because WoW made a lot of eastern players realize there was more to an MMO than constant grind. |

I've been there myself anyway. All the info your asking about is posted over at aionsource.com. When you get killed by a mob you will lose some exp, you can buy it back from an npc at the respawn point (the higher the lvl the more it cost). When you die via pvp you get a death buff (slow movement, lower stats, it last for one min) and you will lose abyss points depending on the lvl of the player. You will not lose exp from pvp. You get your wings at lvl10 and the total flight time is one min. In later lvls(lvl30,45 and maybe 50) you will be able to up grade your wings that will give more flight time and speed, you can also add enchant stones to your gear that will give more flight time. You also can get / craft flight pots that will add time and there are lots of flight rings in the abyss that resets your flight time when you fly through them. Every class will also get passive skills that will increase flight time and speed (every 10 lvls I think). Flight time in the higher lvls is not an issue. Yes you got to work / grind mobs or run instances to get epic gear or craft it (nothing is given to you free) except for a few quest at higher lvls (30) that will give you some good items that will last you until lvl45. www.aionsource.com/forum/elysea/12203-new-daevanion-armor-quest-elyos-only.html www.aionsource.com/forum/elysea/12253-daevanion-weapon-quest-lvl-30-elyos.html If you are mostly a PVPer then you can get abyss PVP gear (LVL30-35-40-45-50) by killing people, npc's, and mobs in the abyss. By doing this you get abyss points and with the points you can buy abyss gear via NPC's located in the abyss (the gear will not cost you any gold).
