Did AoC improve and is it a game worth playing?

What is that Funcom policy again exploiters and cheaters?

Here you can find video how nice PvP is in AoC when people from the same guild kill each other time after time just to get precious PvP levels. Origin guild of  players is Convent of Mordi' on Fury PvP server.

wasnt quite the most epic moment ive seen, but glad you guys broke them apart and exposed the hell out of them.

looking at the video again,

 

They gotta be throw down storm field, scratching their jewels while sitting in one spot to rake in the kills.

completely disgusting, i bet half of them couldnt circle strafe around a ball of lint to save their worthless lives.

 

and Unfinished as for your link, wake me up until it gets interesting; like the part when they start speaking about ninja moles, Conspiracy interviews and back stabbing Buses.

I am not in a guild and haven't been for a long time on Cimmeria. But I am looking for one if anyone has a friendly home ;)

I would be interested in taking feedback though on how to prevent inter guild PvP farming. If anyone can come up with some constructive suggestions I would be more than happy to pass along.

After all whats the point in moaning about something and not doing at least something to stop it.

First of all, the interguild thing is simply a way to decide who gets to Siege. Unfinished exagerate wildly the importance of this. first of all, once a siege has been completed the guys that still did not get the chance to siege has a whole lot of guild points ready to use for next Siege. So eventually any guild will be able to Siege. Just that some guilds are getting to Siege more often. Another thing to considder, How likely is it that an allied guild will waste hours and hours getting killed to be able to sort of parry a Siege. It can't go on for ever after all. I don't know how much of a real problem this is, it sounds more like one of the things Unfinished or Finaticd would invent just to do some trashtalking. Same thing with the PvP XP farming people were worried about some time back. It was dramatized bigtime, but when all came to all, it was just too hard/impractical to make happen (need involvement of more than 200 people willing to give up kills) that the whole problem really never was seen much.

Anyways, for what it is worth, There are multiple exploit fixes in patch 1.4.6 now (on TL). My best guess is that they limited the amount of guildpoints one guild can farm from another guild before it sort of go a bit suspicious. Time will show ;)

Yes I saw the latest update on test server, I know they can't be specific with exploit fixes, I sent a couple in myself, which personally verifed right after update. However, waiting to see if there will any changes in this specifc area. Didek did mention there were some coming for Sieging which should hopefully be in 1.05.

Ironically I has a nice well laid out post explaining to Unfinished what the deal is in reply on another thread, but IE 8 screwed it up with the compatibility tab. Not worth wasting another breath though in this area at this point in time.

I think now the ball is on Funcom side and they should show people that such practices as PvP farming each other every day are not welcomed in game. People that farmed PvP exp in a video still are running around in Hyboria with untouched PvP lvls and gear. This invites other people to copy their behaviour and now there is a plague of people going to their guild instances and farming each other close to respad in Brandoc Village.

There are many ways to avoid it, first would be introducing time limit on joining the guild which is popular in many games, unfortunetly it can't be introduced because siege mechanic almost one year after lunch of game are still bugged, and people that are not guild are getting kick out from zone, not receiving siege resurection point, being killed by members of the second raid and such. In the summer there was an update from Funcom about Alliance system which is still not here.

One of other ways is introducing time debuff after first kill on the player when you won't receive any pvp exp for some time from this already killed player, that can also limit griefing because won't give others reason to kill same person time after time.

The thing is Funcom is working on introducing DX10 graphics (which should be already here) but they should focus on fixing bugs present from the lunch time like bugged graphics when you go to see your bank storage you can't see your inventory or other way around.

Many people are experiencing huge lag issues which are not being addressed, there is a known bug when you can't sign up for siege after you have lost siege before but although stated as known GMs in game won't help you to sing up and we are having patches that are not addressing it but introduce better looking  grass and flowers. Raid zones are crashing preventing people from having fun, siege zones are crashing preventing people from fights for Battle Keep.

BK invulnerabilities are stacking since January and still there is no fix for it.

I think people tend to complain or as you called  "moaning" when they see that game braking issues are nto being fixed and when sth is finally fixed there are two new bugs introduced.

Recently my guild was unable to siege four times in a row, twice because no ability to sign up bug, one to vulnerability window not being open, and last when the whole zone crashed after one hour of battle towards the victory.

Have a look at the video and see how the PvP in Conan gonna look soon if there won't be strict action taken by Funcom to punish such actions.

Once again the OP on the Official Forums vanished.

The  'See No Evil" approach is a joke. Farming fellow Guildies for PvP levels has been going on for more than 8 months, "a fix is on test live now" is not impressive.

And Avery you were in that Guild at the time of forums.ageofconan.com/showthread.php and an Officer if remember correctly.

You will find exploitation posts deleted. Simple. This is also a big discussion on the test server where there are several threads with several dozen dev replies for anyone truly interested they can find all the answers there with a quick peek.

There is massive talk with constructive replies back and forth out there. Thing is unfinished you don't want to offer any of that, but to moan about something that doesn't effect you. As for the referral of me being in that guild. Just to be clear I had only logged about 12 hrs since August till present and my PvP level on that specific character in that guild has a PvP level of Zero :)

I have seen the video thanks I saw it before you posted it here. Thank you for your suggestions too, but some of them simply won't work as to penalize the regular player. I am sure from by reading some of the threads I have put you will find like minded ppl who what these niggling issues fixed.

As I said I understand your frustration but you can't have it both ways with DX10, to not have it in the game and bitch or to stop work on it and bitch about that too lol. We are not the people that sort the priorities out. Also the DX10 guys will have no bearing on other systems, each has independant team. Take all that raid fixing that went on over the past 3 months, exploits, raids in general were all fixed up. Red line lag is a thing of the past for many people. It's appearance is random and uncommon at the moment.

As for sieges, again I suggest you read the above and if you really want to make the game better leave feedback there. If you read the patch notes too there has been several fixes for sieges and improvements that have been implemented. You will also see from the above posts back and forth communication from both sides, cause and effect, the effect has been to fix "new" issues steadily as it is brought up. There is a strong history here.

People have different tastes in game, whether from raiding to sieging to PvP to wanting DX10. There is work happening in all these area's from which there has been proof.

I agree that sieges need shapening up, but I can see that this is being worked on and Funcom are taking the time to see the same issues internally in specific situations.

When I talk about moaning, it is about people doing it for the sake of it. Difference between you and someone else here is that this effects you and it is frustrating you, some of those things you point out never even happened before, others have been around a little while. You want them fixed. These things don't effect the other person as they don't play, never raided nor sieged nor ever had any PvP levels because they have it in for FC. They don't want the game fixed, they have no intention of returning. If you truly want the opposite please leave your direct feedback and any data you have on the official test server forums.

people shouldnt be able to have chars distributed among diffrent guilds. at least not on the same server.

a player having diffrent alts belonging to diffrent guilds on the same server is a ridiculous idea.

this is an M rated game, devs and designers just need to use common sense when it comes to inter player interactions, every time commonsense is ommited there will be a potential risk of gamepley breaking.

Well its quite known by now that Funcom does not punish exploiters. They do punish people who reports exploits, but not the exploiters themselves. And the fix? no fix, I am sorry.. wait another year kkthxbye
