No really I could say something nice but that horrible FAQ stops me Togather we can end this madness ... and bring order to the galaxy. |

It's still young yet. Aside from the availability and account management issues the game itself is solid. Miles behind? As compared to what? Miles ahead more like it.
Solid... really?
The official forums seem to paint a different picture. Many threads talk about the slideshow performance when engaging in large PvP battles... are they all incorrect? Many have also complained about the numerous server restarts and crashes... are they all incorrect as well?
How many consecutive days has DarkFall's one and only server been up since launch?
As it stands right now, DarkFall is currently in Paid Closed Beta. Until they are able to provide a stable environment where anyone may purchase the game... it is not "Solid". |

I have a good system, have been in very large battles and have not had any issues with FPS, myself. So, perhaps, the people with this issue should look at their systems, or which particular crap they tend to have running while gaming.
Many have also complained about the numerous server restarts and crashes... are they all incorrect as well? There have been numerous server restarts, but only a couple of actual crashes thaty I am aware of.
How many consecutive days has DarkFall's one and only server been up since launch? I have played almost every day since launch.
As it stands right now, DarkFall is currently in Paid Closed Beta. Released for me, as I was not in Beta, or are you trying to be cute. Until they are able to provide a stable environment where anyone may purchase the game... it is not "Solid". They cannot meet the actual demand for the game with the current resources available, but the game itself is pretty solid.

It appears we have different ideas of what "Solid" actually means. When they are able to offer the game on a consistent basis and allow people to test the game so that the game can "speak for itself"... then they will be approaching my idea of "Solid".
I'm glad you've found a game you enjoy... I'll leave it at that. |

I'm glad you've found a game you enjoy... I'll leave it at that. FFA Full loot Pvp. Player Built Cities Sieges Huge, beautiful world Ships This is the solid core that I was talking about. While some of the siege mechanics need to be tweaked, the game runs fantastic. I've been involved in 200-300 people with very good framerates (and those are so fun). It's just unfortunate from this weekend that the 500 or so person battle that was about to take place had a bunch of people crash, and because of the siege mechanic we lost the challenge. That is something that can be tweaked. The crashing will need better optimization. |

The game is solid because it has 1/50th the features of even Hello kitty online. That, and they had to remove NPC's..... |

Well they paid Shatner and Mr. T to spread their propaganda, can they go more overboard ? paying for forum trolling services must be peanuts for them .. -----MY-TERMS-OF-USE-------------------------------------------------- "There was suppression of speech and all kinds of things between disturbing and fascistic." You're losing sight of the point of the thread.
This is a nice proof that Darkfall was more talk than bite... and even then, it bit off more than it could chew. |

Not by a long shot. Maybe only game that had some worries was AC-darktide and SB they are realy only ones who lose some customers to Darkfall. If Darkfall slowly grows and it is posibillity maybe AoC can lose some players if the word get spread that Darkfall becomes better, also becouse more pc's can run Darkfall then AoC its still rather high end game to run Darkfall can be played on a low end current system. Ive tested it on a q6600 8800gt xp32bit with pq5 mb 450watt cost 450 euro's ive played in huge battles had offcorse some lag and had shut down my sound to very low but i could play and on medium without shadows its playable, ive even hear some play on lower system. Darkfall if they survive the first 4 months is here to stay becouse these are typical games that have very loyal fans that will stay for a long time. But there must still be fix alot and implement alot so devs can't sit back ease up a little and relax they a far from finished yet hehe.

The complete insanity of what you just said, if you believe your own words, should be grounds to have you given electro-shock therapy.
Let me try to make this simple enough for you: Blizzard advertises on primetime TV. WoW brings in more money for them than most MMOs are likely to make in their lifetimes (several billion at this point). When they advertise, they go for well-known people in the commericals (Mr. T, Mini me, Ozzy, Shatner...etc).
And here here's you're line of thought: Blizzard pays people to troll forumsto divert people from games that might hurt them, in this case, a game that was developed for an unholy long amount of time, and cannot launch properly. Advertisement is propaganda.
I really hope you're unable to reproduce. |

It is called advertising, or in this case specifically, celebraty endorsement. Maybe you have seen it before. I have heard that perhaps a few other companies do it to. WoW's target audience is people new to the genre, and those ads do a good job at bringing new people to the game.
Giving the millions of players they have, and the big budget they have to advertise, why would they bother to pay someone to slander a non-factor like Darkfall? |

I have been following the Darkfall saga since “pre-pre launch” and it has come time to throw in my two cents. Now, I can deal with a bad launch or/and the lack of promises of numerous features. However, the report of hacking stops me dead in water. True, it could be SONY or Blizzard paying people to go out and denounce a game out of fear…doubtful but possible. Nevertheless, the information provided for in http://forums.darkfallonline.com/showthread.php?t=164338 is outstanding. Some opinions and little argument makes it informative. Do any loyal players have evidence contrary to the said information? |

Once again a prime example of the fine up-standing players that make DarkFall their home.
And to think... they think that some of us critics are the ones doing the game harm?
Stop and think for a moment... If your best debating point is to try and slam another game or it's players... you've already lost the debate. |

Originally posted by seabeast I have been playing since launch. I have heard reports of hackers being banned. I have also heard some people complaining about various hacks going on. However, I have never actually encountered someone I thought was hacking, so there may be a bit of hysteria, atm, regarding the scale.
There are, on the other hand, a lot of people macroing, though as we progress, (remember we are all basically newbs at the present time), it is becoming apparant that at a certain point, macroing ceases to be a viable way of skill leveling. The reason for this is that there are only a few skills that can be macroed while naked with an empty backpack.
Many players, I imagine, macroed the basic magic skill, a it requred no reagents to do so, but the next step in the usual progression requires a couple thousand gold worth of reagents to reach the next level of progression. One could macro this, I suppose, but one would be risking a significant amount of gold by doing so, as someone casting afk Rend, for instance, will definitely get killed and looted, simply for the obvious resources he must carry in order to cast that spell.
There are a couple other basic skills where macroing could work, but even those will be matched by an honest player in a few weeks.
There were also some exploits used by some beta clans, at launch, which helped them farm a lot of gold. Most of these have been fixed, though those clans do have an advantage, atm. Darkfall, being what it is, this advantage will become less and less relevant in the months to come. |
