Pretty much sums it up right here, for those of you wondering about purchasing the game and what is/isn't in the game.

The website is out of date, but the game itself works and is enjoyable if you're into PVP.                                                                Fact is that DF is a very unique game, still needs some polish but overall there are no game breaking bugs and the capability to have and participate in large battles as well as in the political system of Agon is awesome.

There is nothing out in the Market that is comparable to DF (and no AOC and Warhammer does not count) as for Mortal Online at the moment this is a T-Shirt company that sells it's shirts, there is no info coming from MO developers and I doubt that it's even 50% complete.

DF is still limited, this is a limited release with only 1 server until everyhting is optimized and polished off to Aventurine's satisfaction (Which is a very smart move on their part). I pre ordered the game, and I am glad I did because gettting and account is a pain in the ass; there's well over 360,000 people who have signed up on their website and only a very small fraction has been able to get their hands on it.

DF will end up as a very nice niche game for the PVP community who has been shafted over and over again by the major publishing companies.

DFO is unique all right. One of the most unique "launches" of a mmo I've seen. Still the stories of the pvp battles people have posted remined me of my days in Lineage2. So I want try DFO.(Also the orcs runing in circles I want to see.)

Starvault's website lists it's 25 year old lead developer as having 11 years mmo experiance. Yeah ok. I'll not hold my breath for this one.

I agree DFO will be a niche game but if you think you're not "being shafted" by AV when in fact your paying for a closed beta....*shakes head*

I'm waiting till a trial and to see how the hacking situation works out. I am most certianly NOT paying for a closed beta. And it IS one, just  without a character wipe.

 That thread is needed on the DFO forums. There are threads every now and then asking about a feature (like player housing) that was cut.

Ahahahahaha!  This is funny!

Maybe if you went to the official forums, and didn't take the MO forums on MMORPG.com as the one and only source of info, you would be singing a different tune.  There is in-game beta footage on the front page of the website, feature listings that ONLY list items that are set in stone and in-game, beta-testing in the very near future, plenty of dev posts in the forums in response to peoples' questions, and a very positive and constructive community (although you can tell a few DF posters have migrated to the MO forums recently ).

Oh, and they planned on a summer of '09 release.  Even if that gets pushed back to the ass-end of the year, that still nukes your >50% statement.  THAT is the lowdown on MO at the moment.

I see why as it is a very easy subject to troll.

Well let's examine what you stated:

2 melee swings:  what's wrong with that?  what difference  the number of different swings that you can do when you can simply miss.  The "skill" is in connecting/dodging

A blue ball:  Everyone starts out with it, so that's why you see it a lot.  There are a lot of different spells with different effects which require a lot of dedication to skill up.

Huge grind you will need to macro:  Are you referring to skiling up or crafting or both?  Either way, unattended macroing will get you kicked and it does nothing for actually improving your skill as a player.

We have PvP:  You seem to make light of this.  It's free for all pvp with full loot.  It brings the danger back.  Anyone can attack you.

The level of freedom in this game is miles ahead of most other games.

The game is not finished!!!! It has real good potential, I like the fact that you have to target to hit and such but its really not ready. From this read its gonna need another year of development to get all that in...maybe 6 months if they make the dev team sleep onsite.

It's still young yet.  Aside from the availability and account management issues the game itself is solid.  Miles behind?  As compared to what?  Miles ahead more like it.

Stop throwing this excuse around. No company should ever be excused from releasing a terrible MMO to the general public.

BECAUSE of these issues, Darkfall remains behind a smokescreen for many of the people who are looking for information, as their website is junk. Don't even give me "WELL I CAN TELL YOU!11!1!", people want an official review, some scoring, some reinforcement to make sure they've made the right decision.

What's wrong with the ui?  It's different.  It takes some getting used to, but it's good.  It grows on you.

The only reason I have rose coloured glasses on is because Darkfall released a fantastic game.  I came to this decision after having played it.  It made a believer out of me.

Ah tis a sad state of affairs when you can name the chief supporters of this game on ... er... one hand. I suggest we start making some accounts to help 'em out. Sometimes I really do feel sorry for them. They'd buy any old crappy game with X amount of lies*still* on there website and provide all sorts of daft excuses. Here kiddies it time for your shallow PVP FFA feature lacking fix. You can tell there scared / bored already because they have gone over to the MO forums and tried some lame ass attempts at critcising the game, usually with stuff that applies more to DF ! Oh the fun times to be had with this.

And... Yes.. yes.. they AV have not updated there website ? Because DF is nothing but a massive shambolic feature lacking MMO which only a handful of an already select amount of people will buy and support. AV are simply massive muppets there is no denying this. Anyone that thinks its ok for them not to update there site is tootling on the crack pipe.

No idea who this raidon guy is.  My Darkfall forum name is the same as this MMORPG forum name which is the same name as my in game darkfall character name.

So, we cannot form an opinion of DF because we haven't played it, yet you can call every other game POS, not even knowing what game it is? Irony is delicious.

Oh, and I am not particualrly upset the website is not updated, but I bet the people who bought the game expecting to play the game described on the website sure as hell are.
