Was in beta and played several months. Was there for the PvP patch etc. Yes granted I didn't play since then. You guys are trying to praise this POS into the sky to get new people to play it but I still say most (95% ?) people will not like this game after the honeymoon. The foundation of this game is what sucks and it is unchangeable. As far as I am concerned AoC isn't a mmo at all. Battlefield 2 has maps bigger than aoc zones. Add the instancing and there goes the massive feeling. This game is the drooling Frankenstein monster among mmos. |

Well the quantity of the testimonials is not on par with the quantity of new players, the game is not growing. So I'm shocked that an insane number of players would have the time to post positive testimonials while the people leaving go in silence. The format of the testimonials is always pretty much standard and ambiguous. I'm certain some are true, Tortage was an alright zone designed to be deceptive and "hook" players and get un deserved high ratings. ____________ I find it pretty funny that my credibility is in question when Funcom's marketing department has proven itself very deceptive and is guilty of on the box false advertising. Recently the forum mods pretty much told the players to hype up a MMO of the year award poll, a poll in which people could vote again by resetting cookies, which was an exploit mentioned in the thread. ____________ I donate my time freely to counteracting the spin; ) Funcom has reviewed all of its assets relevant for |

Okay, so I play the game...I used to play like all the time, but I have been playing LotRO A LOT more lately, and I am going to start EVE, so if I really enjoy EVE I'll probably cancel my sub to AoC until the xpac... but anyway...I really enjoy the game, I've been playing for over three months now and it has been good the whole time...the only issues I have are with the instancing...I like a larger world to run around in...but as far as just being a fun and good game...well, it is. PLAYING: NOTHING!!! WAITING FOR: Dust 514 |

Im suprised people that dislike the game spend so much time in the games forums. When I dislike a game I cancel my sub and move on but for many that doesn't seem to be the case. There are a certain few who continue to talk poorly about it over and over and say what? That they need tell people the truth? The truth is that alot of people play AoC and alot of people enjoy it. The game has been getting better consistantly and the last update and the next update are huge and change so much about the game. Whether you disliked the game or were unable to actually enjoy it for whatever reason then thats fine. I don't like wow but 10 zillion others love it. I don't sit in the wow forums bashing it. You don't like it, cool, move on or answer the questions a bit more constructively. Yes the game had its issues at launch and 98% of them are resolved. Itemization is coming in the next update and alot of content has already been added. next update offers another 70+ zone making solo questing 1-80 possible without grind sessions. DX10 has been on testlive for some time now, looks amazing and will also be out for 1.5 if not sooner. |

Well, if you do return to AoC like I have, do yourself a favor and ignore 90% of community channels, cause it's about as annoying as WoW Barren's chat when that game launched. I'm not suprised people are rude in game, cause thats just how some people are. AoC does have a tendency to attract some undesirables, much like Im sure Darkfall does. PvP games are notorious breeding grounds for the not so civilized vagrants of our world. Im just glad Im in a good guild, cause if I had to rely on global chat to get groups or ask questions, I wouldnt be playing long. |

Most who played AoC when it came out didn't have a powerfull enough system to run the great eye candy it had on offer, so gave it alot of stick. Once the snowball is pushed from the hill it gathers in size & speed. AoC still has bugs, not as many at release granted but for me i enjoy playing & pvping still. Not the greatest game but it's not the worse either. I like Wow when that first came out, that was full of bugs, dissconnection, server lag etc, but back then there was nothink in it's league to compare it to, so people got on with it. I'm getting on a bit now, i like playing a game with a bit of blood & tit in, keeps me alive. I doubt if i will still be playing AoC after 3 months when my sub runns out due to lack of content. If you have a newish rig to play AoC on max settings it's pretty or so pretty. |

So let me get this straight.. if 100 people eat at a restaurant, and 99 say they will never go back to that restaurant, you should only take the opinion of the 1 person who says they will go back? 90% of players quit AOC.. but we should only listen to the 10% who continue to play in order to get an idea of how that game is? If that is the case, then every game out there is awesome and perfect.
So let me get this straight, you expect people to believe the words of someone who fabricates random numbers on the spot? A better example is if a year ago, 100 people ate at a restaurant and 99 say they would never go back... but now nearly a year later there are quite a few people saying that the restaurant is heading in a new direction due to a new manager running it, and how the restaurant has improved dramatically, especailly in the last few months. BTW - I dont even play, and I can see plain as day that there is WAY more good feedback of players going back and giving it another try. Its not people who have "continued to play" the whole time as you try to imply. Even though there are less servers, the sub numbers have actually increased as we move thru thru 2009, which means that the AoC "Restaurant is actually frequented reguarly by customers now". Should you listen to the people who been there recently and said the food is actually quite good now, or do you think its a better idea to listen to the people who have not been there in a year but are still claiming that the food is horrible even though they have not had it since its improved? That's like never watching the newest Hulk movie, and trying to tell other people it sucks because the old one did. You have no credibility because you obviously make claims you have no business making. The better question to ask here is why should anyone listen to someone who makes claims after they prove they have no credibility? |

I recently returned to AoC after leaving in disgust shortly after the game launched. My biggest complaint was lack of customer service. Customer service has improved greatly. The final stage of my Tortage destiny quest was bugged, I petitioned and was quickly responded to. The GM solved my problem and I went happily on my way. I also felt cheated after leaving Tortage and finding that the npc quest givers no longer had speech. I see now that they have added more speaking npcs. Hopefully they will continue this trend. I like the combat system, always have. As a bow ranger I will often times switch to shield and sword just for the chance to dismember/behead an opponent :-) I am still stuck with low (15 - 20 fps) frame rates in cities. This is with graphics set at medium, render distances set below the mid line of the slider bar and shadows disabled. My rig is AMD Athlon x64 4000+ (2.1 Gig) 2GB ram, Geforce 8500 gt video card. I am frustrated that I can't change chat text color. The grey chat color is difficult to see, only solution is to darken the chat box, which I would rather not do. I prefer to be able to see through my chat box. I like to craft as well as adventure. I don't know if you still have to be 40 before you can craft, haven't checked it out yet. If so, that is a minus in my book. The level to start crafting should be lowered to 20. I like the freedom of an open world, and I miss that in this game. However, the closed environment is still large and visually stunning, which takes some of the sting out of being "fenced in". I didn't get into the pvp last time around. Our guild was one of the first to get their keep up, but I didn't stick around long enough to get into siege warfare. I will continue to play for awhile and see first hand what other changes the devs have made. Darter Elfgard - ex guild leader of The Wandering Stars |

yeah, the perpetual question lol im not gonna give a review here but in a nutshell, AoC s doing great, im not saying it is in a perfect state or even reached its cruising speed, but comparing to its launch disaster, the game have come a long way forward. the only major thing that the game still lacks is a good itemizations, not that they are no items in game or anything... but items are almost useless especially at lower lvls, this will be addressed and fixed in the next major patch (1.05). besides that, the game is very fun as an MMO and the RPG component is impressive, there is more content than what an average player could handle, i personally find myself skipping a lot of quests because there are just too many at the same lvl especially when you start crafting at lvl40, the sieging PvP system is awsome (just look at the vids threads on this same forum). Almost all the technical isues have been irradicated, the game is now perfectly stable and smooth. and MOST importantly, Funcom's Devs/QA are relesing less and less buggy patches which is great and only proves that they are getting experienced in the software itself (AoC), and Funcom is doing max effort to get feedback from players regarding pretty much everything from tiny bugs to general gameplay concerns... |
