You have turned out to be a terrible game. I hope to play with you some more in the near future when you are less buggy, and have haulted all of the hackers. Sincerely Sorry, Gardian90 |

If not terrible, I can agree that there are some problems, but still no game stoppers. Even that, DF is the best such game on the market just because one reason: there is no better similar game currently. :-)=) Many players love such gameplay and prefer that problems than the other posibilities. |

Combat is wack a mole everything else is click click click. The gameplay is shallow. The gameplay is also such thatthe more you are prpared to cheat the further ahead you will be, it is rife. Not good for what is essentially a competative game. |

I didn't click your link, so can't reply to it, but maybe address my point about FPS games are click click click? That's what I was talking about. I can't say much about the actual gameplay, since I've only seen my brother play it and have not experienced it myself. But having played EVE quite a bit (which has pretty boring gameplay if you think about it - you tackle a guy then just blow his brains out), and the point of the game is more about territory control and large battles. Many times solo combat is dull in games like this. One point I do have to agree with is it doesn't make sense to have like 5 melee abilities shared by all weapon types. That to me is weird. ----------------------------------------- |

The combat is on speed (whats very actiongame - ish not MMORPG-ish and i dislike), you also have to click you mouse often and also have very limited number of specials ..the only neat thing is the small sprint something i would like in DF too .. The game isn't a MMOPRG you dont join a world , you land in a lobby and wait for free slot in multiplayer maps..(no control over your armor for example you choose a class for a map and thats it you a light class or you a heavy armored class..very simple to balance in an such type of singleplayer game with multiplayer map) I didn't bought so dunno what comes if you pay for it ..but i had fun for exactly 4 hours then it gots dull ..turned it off .. never reloged .. -----MY-TERMS-OF-USE-------------------------------------------------- "There was suppression of speech and all kinds of things between disturbing and fascistic." Apparently you've never played an FPS or you're just not good at them. FPS games require way more skill than the child proof combat in Darkfall. In an FPS, you need to consider recoil, and as any Counter-Strike player will tell you, it takes a long time to master that mechanic. Then you have the prcecision aspect. Even a single pixel can make the difference between you laying on the floor waiting to respawn or winning the round, and this is going on while trying to outsmart and outflank an enemy in a brief window of time. In Darkfall, both players are just standing in front of each other bashing the mouse button. You can't compare the two. And then you have the whole tactical aspect, which again DF does not have. Moving between cover, crouching or proning to avoid getting spotted or make yourself a smaller target, using smoke or flashband grenades to get yourself into a better position or disorient the enemy. It takes a brain to be a good FPS player, but it only takes a finger to be a good DF player. There's a reason why FPSes are played competitively. Do me a favor and play something like Red Orchestra, or even something as twitch happy as UT3, and tell me those games are click fests like DF. Also, I'm glad someone brought up Savage 2 because that game proves how melee can be done right in a game. Savage 2's combat requires skill and it's anything but a click fest since repeatedly clicking will get you stunned by a counter-move. |

Melee is the focused, and comparatively, much more in depth than the entire combat system of darkfall, as for it not being a MMO, this true, but only by a technicality, as its has all the features of a mmo... it just happens to be session based. It has loot, it has quests (given by the commander) it has PvP and it has player advancement both temporary and persistent and building. Again, the reason I brought it up is because they melee system and ranged system are far superior to darkfall. There is much more to combat than you describe, and your issue with the heavy class (unless your talking about the demons, then that's a different issue entirely as they are a completely different class of creature) is your lack of understanding of the system. All classes are quite capable, even the builders.

Didn't got too much into depth as i said played for a very limited time..i didn't had a feeling i should expect quests in that game so didn't thought they exist .. I spawned with different classes (both human and beasts) and had the feeling that if i spawn as 'Legionnaire' for the humans or as 'predator' (i think that is the heavy melee class for beast) i pawn in mellee (of course mellee hellbourne units are more elite and pawn the regular heavy mellee classes) You sure talk about roles if you say lighter clases have they use (build or scout)..but if it comes to mellee fight i pawned them .. -----MY-TERMS-OF-USE-------------------------------------------------- "There was suppression of speech and all kinds of things between disturbing and fascistic." Lol... Comparing to CS is just lame. And CS doesnt require any skill, just reaction which come with time. There is no strategy in CS as well if you played it for 20hours/day for years, you can solo take like 5-10people... About click-fest: all games are same, in ones you click mouse buttons, others you hitting repeatedly F1-F8... So FPS take very little brain in small battles, only thing you need brain is to make strategies for mass battles... |

So your rebuttal is that the comparison is lame? I guess you're beaten. I'm sorry you can't come to grasp than just about every FPS is at least 10 times more in depth than the combat in Darkfall, and that more thought goes into a player controlling the recoil on an AK in CS than an entire battle in Darkfall. I'm also sorry you're just bad at games. I guess some peopel don't have the mental fortitude, which explains the few remaining Darkfall apologists. |
