Now that we had time for the news about Live Gamer and RMT to sink in, what do you plan to do? I am a brand new Vanguard player and I am having concerns after reading all the points being made in the Official forums. I love the game but I have not invested too much of my time to it. I don't know if I should walk away and see what happens before deciding to come back or to stick it out.

Nope Ive quit. If they do the EQ2 thing and put it on one server then ill resub.. not till then. I played at the beginning and returned a couple of months ago (for the 3rd time). I am going to keep my subscription going and will be playing regularly. Apparently there is a mini expansion coming.......I can't wait! People should give this game a go, this is a quality game.
P.S. I think your poll is to limited. It should have more options. |

I already quit because of this stupid RMT sweep SoE has going on. Im going back to FFXI most of my friends from Vanguard are some ex FFXI friends so we're just going to go back there and get going on the ToAU expansion. (We quit right before it came out). |

At first I was extremely pissed, as I despise RMT. But then I said fuck it, Vanguard is just too good of a game to walk away from, even for nonsense like this. If I stop playing VG, I wouldn't know where to go. No PVE game comes close to VG (and I've played them all). I won't ever use the RMT, and I don't think the playerbase of VG is large enough for RMT to make any difference. If it gets really bad, though (which I doubt), I will leave. |

Agreed. Vanguard offers what I want in a game. A huge, rich, non-instanced world to explore, old-school dungeon crawls and a character that I love and am proud of. Cash shop? It doesnt effect me one bit. Great game. |

I plan to keep playing VG with a wait-and-see attitude. If RMT radically changes the dynamics of the game, then I'll quit. If it doesn't effect me, then I'll keep playing as VG is the best PvE game available today. |

Canceled. I like Diplomacy, i like Vg's craft and VG's dungeons are huge and impressive. VG's classes are really great . But i don't know what to do.VG is one of my prefered MMOS with Dark Age of camelot but it belongs to SOE... I 'm afraid next step will be CS then another bad thing, another game killer. I can't trust SOE anymore. VG needs a lot of new players but we can fear a massive exodus. To pay a sub + an item shop is UNACCEPTABLE. Can we expect a relaunch ? I don't think so Can we expect more money for this game ? no Can we expect an expansion ? no Can we expect more GU for 2009 ? no, players waits for POTA since months... What can we really expect from SOE ? A Cash shop and some bug fixes. No more no less My account is still active, i don't know what to do. war: Tried War yesterday: boring, really boring. People still willingly pay for this game? *mind boggled* The last time SOE tried to give me a couple months playtime for Vanguard I tried it for a few days and was already bored of the lack of players & things to do. |

If I were still playing the game, I would have quit after hearing this news. I refuse to support any gaming company that institutes Real Money Transactions or Micro Transactions in their MMO. I refuse to be nickel and dimed in any game and these companies certainly have not earned the right to receive more income beyond 15 bucks a month. Unless they start packing these games with a lot more entertaining content (read: not a bunch of grinding bullshit) then they might deserve to increase their fees. Then there's the whole fairness issue, but most companies could care less about morals. What's even more insulting is that SOE wants the monthly sub plus the micro transactions, what a freaking greedy and disgusting business model. What exactly have they added to any of their MMO's to justify the increased income? They already charge for the expansions. They already make a huge profit margin on the subscriptions. It's utter non-sense and any player that buys into it, deserves their fate. Have fun emptying your wallet for these blood sucking bastages. |
