Darkfall has single handily redefined, and expanded the definition of: "Pay to beta test" Give it 6-12 months. IMO. |

Thanks for the reply, but im still a little confused ... So your saying that currently there is no way for me to play this game? Theres a beta out, but its a closed beta for selected people?

Indeed. They're using Cartman's marketing example. "We have this awesome game here, but YOU CAN'T PLAY IT!"

Difference being, Cartman had the capacity to allow hundreds of thousands, Darfall does not, this is a limited release do to poor planing and limited funds, and is a complete 180 from what they said they would never do. All i can think of is The Magic Christian:

Perhaps, though to me, this is a more accurate reflection of the current situation:

No, not at all. That's a delusion, and false hood perpetuate by the current player base. |

Originally posted by XoxxxxxxxxoX Well here's the lowdown as far as I understand it: On release day a few thousand people managed to get in. The server couldn't handle the numbers so Aventurine took the account creation website offline. Since then it's been up and down like a yo-yo, and whether you're able to get an account or not is down to pure luck. Even if you manage to buy the game, it is currently experiencing terrible queues that can be upwards of 5 hours. Then there are issues with crashes etc. and being put in a queue all over again. (hence why people are calling it a Beta as these issues should not be present in a commercial release). To put it simply, you're best off waiting a month or two until things settle down or the game dies completely. |

The biggest aspect of playing Darkfall is actually getting into Darkfall. Getting an account and getting into the server is extreemly difficult...so much so that Its just silly. However its only temporary. My advice for anyone not playing DF already is sit out and wait for the dust to settle for another 3 weeks. Then go for it. I wrote a Darkfall review that goes in depth on the pros and cons of Darkfall. Useful for anyone still on the fence or wants to learn more about the game |

DAOC did it, WoW did it, AoC certainly did it, and WAR did it too. it's hardly anything new. don't be a drama queen. |

Could you post the name of your drug dealer or do you get them directly from Taco's own private stash? I want to get some of what you are smoking since it does such a wonderful job of warping reality into a fantasy revisionist history. |

WoW: def did not do it.. AoC: possibly (depends on your personal definition) The rest I do not know. I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time. |
