I've been following the game for a while, and when i beta tested i was like, "wtf were they doing for 8 yrs, there's nothing to the game". Then I remembered that they once said that they could have finished the game much faster if they used a ready made engine, so for one, they were working on the ENGINE most of the time. And also, nearly all the promised features are in the game and the game world is amazingly done... its just that the devs apparantly worked on NOTHING other than that, they apparantly didn't put ONE SECOND into thinking about how to balance features, and how to impliment them correctly. I mean there are some serious common sense failures present in Darkfall.

Thats the problem. They ignored anything, and now the game is just a pile of crap. My friend attented to that demonstration at Athens about DF and its funny how tasos or whoever the hell was there made DF look so good when he was talking about it.

Six years ago Tasos said "I am going to make the best MMO in the world, just because i feel like it"

He didnt even expect anyone will play it. He did it for him self and his buddies.

But word got around. Players around the world started rushing him in anticipation.

Tasos didnt care. Why work fast? He is working for fun, not for money...

 

When beta test time came. Tasos said "Why be like the other sheep and beta test? I am going to launch a game without beta test, just because I am doing this game for myself, and anyway I know it works as intended. "

 

But still game was popular beyond expectations. Foreign investors tried to blind Tasos with promise of money and greed...

But Tasos didnt yield. Tasos does not care about money. He cares only about quality.

 

When the launch came. Aventurine opened only one server, and sold limited accounts.

Because Tasos , doesnt care for financial sucess. Why mess with perfection , why fall into capitalistic greed trip ?

 

Darkfall is best game in the world. That was his goal to start with, and he reached it.

 

So now Tasos and Aventurine guys live high life. In day they sunbathe on the beach and eat kebab, and in the night they go hardcore and play best MMO in the world... how cares bout money if you can do this!

 

 

This is about as truth as it can be said about tasos but he failed with this(He cares only about quality.) What quality? I dont see it ?

And one other thing this game is mostly a project of the norwegian developers tasos only join them with aventurine.

I think after all tasos was the worse man to choose as partner for this porject he fucked it all up:(

They should sack him, he ruined darkfall:(

So what you're getting at here is that Darkfall is what you can reasonably accept from a bunch of itinerent Greek stoners?

From all the fallout I've seen, I can accept that.

Third rate product from a third rate dev team :D

  Today is the first day Darkfall pissed me off. They took 16 hours to make a patch that did not fix the REAL issues such as sync and lag. Instead they put a patch to make it harder for people to harvest. Who really gives a shit if its harder to harvest I want to fight mobs and players that arent teleporting due to lag and sync issues.

I see Tasos as a young Oedipus, sooner or later he's gonna kill his father then marry his mother and poke out his own eyes so he doesn't have to see his children. I can see Downtoearth and Darthraiden leading him from website to website to beg for donations and food and shelter.
