This. A buddy took me through Stormhold and Fallen Gate last night for named mobs and I left two levels higher and plenty of Master I books and gear for the broker.

There is no Rafinious, only Zuul!
I would suggest that you DO ask for more people for a group in the 1-9 channel. I'm not sure about other people but I look at the 1-9 channel and the 71-80 channel. I have all the other channels turned off. If I see people looking for more people for their group in the 1-9 channel and i'm not busy I join groups and mentor all the time. So my advice is, don't be afraid to ask for more people in the 1-9 chat. If you are lfg stick with the level appropriate channel since people at that level almost certainly have that channel active.

What are the PvP servers like now days? When I left EQ2, the PvP server that I was on (don't remember the name) was a gankfest and made questing very unenjoyable. Also, at that time, grouping was not easy and I had to try to do most quests solo, which made me a sitting target. For those who PvP, what are your thoughts about starting a new toon on a PvP server? Then when the AA's came out, it got worse till they made PvP encounters mandatory XP. Now, from my own experiences, playing a Wiz currently.. I find that getting as stocked as possible on AA's and locking at 17 (So you can put a full line of AA's in) that the tables are extrememly turned vs. the massive number of mouth breathing noob scouts out there trying to hump anything that moves. I just jammed to 22 because I hit 18, but in the limited number of pvp I was in, mostly duo or solo, I had a 41/7 record. Which isn't anything to brag about but not too shabby for a glass cannon, So farm 4 or 5 BI clusters,, sell them, get on a POF/EL/DM/CH aa run and go to town with whatever class you like. Especially one with a root or a snare. I'm Spellbum on there.

I don't ask in 1-9 because every time I've bothered turning on that channel I see all caps arguing or stupidity in general. I didn't have general chat and trade chat turned on in World of Warcraft for that very reason. So far, I haven't had a problem finding groups so 1-9 is unnecessary.

As I've pointed out many times before, the gameplay on Antonia Bayle is different from the other servers simply because of the massive population. 1-9 and 70-79 is full of spam and people arguing, so generally best left alone. Every now and then I go into them but only if when vital. A lot of the time you can't even access them due to the amount of players already logged on. Antonia Bayle is FULL! |

I think this can be true of any server. Personally I don't play on antonica bayle simply because I started when the game launched and didn't want to reroll. But I do log into A/B from time to time to check things out since I have a guild from vanguard that is on AB and I've been tempted to reroll. Anyway I just checked it out for awhile to see how bad the chat might since it sounded like it might be a lot busier. But honestly in the 10 minutes I hung out there I really didn't see that much more then I would see on my server and the stuff was pretty much the same content. Basically in 10 minutes there were 4 messages. 1 was a recruit for a guild. 2 were typical ooc nonsence and one was a message that a group wanted a tank and dps for oob/cov lvls 65-75. While I was writing this there were two more messages. 1 a repeat of the looking for more message above and one asking if anyone knew when the lavastorm revamp was going live. So basically if you are making a group and want to get more people and you are lower level posting something similar in 1-9 is handy as you will have probably the broadest spectrum of players short of the 70-80 channel. Some people I'm sure have the channel off like darwa but some people even at higher levels like to help out lower level people and do listen to these channels. So if you are below lvl 70 and want more people for a group broadcasting in this channel will get you some mentored help. Course also turn on the lfm flag in the advanced looking for group UI for sure. A/B chats don't look any more busy then ohter servers or look like they have much diff content. Course like I said all of them will have 1-9 occasional ooc type chat about everything from chuck norris to the latest graphic chips. If you can't handle the that kinda stuff then maybe you will want to turn the channel off.

Reading comprehension is vital. We both stated that we turn 1-9 off. I turn it off because I don't care what people think about the latest Chuck Norris joke or graphics card. I don't want that in my game.

It's hilarious that you went to Antonia Bayle because making your point is that important.

I downloaded the trial a few days ago and I am currently lvl 14 Defiler. I tried the AB server and I can tell you thats its pretty busy. Not packed but I see people everywhere I go in Timourous Deep. Seeing that many people is going to get a sub from me. BTW this game has so many damn classes.....its tough to pick. |
