I am excited about this game as any of you are. I can't wait to see more but one problem I see is the character graphics. They just look terrible. I watched the latest video with the gameplay in it but please tell me the toons are not going to look like that!! The pics of the armor that cover the whole toon look good but the jedi or human characters look bad. Just my opinion but I have my fingers crossed. |

I agree, they have the charm of Playmobil figures. Let's hope they are just placeholders.

Sadly, I don't think those graphics are place holders. All the screen shots seem to indicate that this is the "artistic" direction they want to go in. I can't imagine WHY they would want to go in that direction but there it is. I would think that using those graphics would deter more people from playing. I know I'll likely not purchase it because of those graphics.

I don't see anything wrong with them, it fits the design of the game...What would you change in particular? Playing: Star Wars: The Old Republic, occasionally TERA. Waiting For: Guild Wars 2, and Elder Scrolls Online. |

First thought I had when I saw them is the style is similar to the new show they have on cable, which kinda makes sense since it may appeal more to the masses, then again the show is perhaps a radical step from the original. Either way, I like em.

At first I did not like the graphics at all. However, the more I've seen them and kept up with the progress of the game, the more they're really starting to grow on me. I like what they're doing with the art style. |

indeed, i guess bioware can't do here much. lucasarts make the decisions, the gameplay and graphic/designstyle are only one of many. that is really too bad. i want see a more mature, agressive and brutal look in SWTOR. i'am just not the typical 12 year old, i'am the fat old nerd! |

I imagine they are aiming for a specific art direction similar to WoW, and to be honest I see nothing wrong with the current models - there is a certain level of charm to them. |

I enjoyed the new animated series, although it is a different direction from the other movies it wasn't as bad as some of the nerd rage states it is. I am 24 and I don't need blood, gore, nudity, and offensive language to make a good game. Look at AoC, all the added "mature" content didn't exactly help it out. It's a Jeep thing. . .

For the last time what do people expect out of a Conan game? >.> The 'mature' content was hit with a heavy nerf bat which is a shame for those of us who would have enjoyed that. There's nothing mature about the game other then nipples and blood, big fracking deal. You can thank people with their nickers in a twist for all that. They might as well give us bras and get rid of limbs getting chopped off and re-rating the game as T for teen. This is what AoC has done for me, made me hate whinners. Don't take this personally Locklain, I just get worked up whenever someone mentions the M rating in a negative way, and not just in AoC. As an adult who would like such a world and finds nothing wrong with that desire, it drives me up the wall. All of that out of the way TOR's art direction looks very nice so far, I am starting to like stylized more and more, still wish they'd show facial close ups.

Don't read too deep into it Cynthe. I would love a game with mature content, the fact that Funcom almost got it done correctly means that games are getting very close to being able to introduce mature content tastefully. Unfortunately it is not the mature content that is the problem, it is the maturity of those that it attracts (not meant to be an attack on you personally). It's a Jeep thing. . .

i think the graphics are just fine, I dont see old EQ 1 graphics or anything even remotely close to WoW, theres clips when people are running and the form fitting shirts cause creases against the skin as they run. as far as place holders go, as I stated on the swtor forums and if any of you where in the vanguard beta, they had place holders on certain things up to the day before they shut down beta to put out the live version, its to soon to tell what sticks and what doesnt. However, BioWare does have a better repuation than most developers, and while lucas arts does have final say I am sure, BioWare will not put its repuation on the line because Lucas arts wants to be overly eccentric and overbearing. I am sure they have something in the contract that allows for BioWare to do what they see fit to make this a huge success. While Sonys track record is tarnished and bleak. BioWare has a great track record with the star wars franchise. |

Ir's all about the style of the art, I think it fits well and looks very polished. To each their own.

I'm hardly thrilled with the graphics, but I can live with them and they're not "deal breaker" bad like WoW. I understand they are aiming for the lowest common denominator graphics wise so less than stellar PCs can run it. At least they have scaled down the ridiculous oversized lightsabers and appear to have scaled blasters down some, too. KOTOR's graphics were kinda mediocre too (thank you consoles!), but as long as the game is good, I can accept TOR's graphics. |

It''s one thing to have a opinion, but enforcing one is unconstitutional. |

You could play these games on low end machines and not be forced to go spend 1k on upgrades. BioWare would love to make the most Graphical Gorgeous Breath taking graphics but we live in a world where crappy PC's spoil it for people who have the Mid to High End PC's capable to push those visuals. |
