This game is made for Carebears! There isn't going to be no looting, piracy, fucking faction base like Wow, and top of that it isn;t going to be like classic. Screw this game, you carebears want to play this POS? go ahead.. I will be playing a real pvp game. |

I understand the OP, it just seems to be taking the wrong route everytime the DEVs reach a fork in the game play road. If they have just one PvP server with no BGs at launch with full loot and some sort of loss at death I'm happy. However they don't seem to be going that way, all the DEVs want to do is convince us that BGs are going to be great. Well they haven't Beta tested it so how would they know what we like? It looks to me that come hell or high water this is going to be a watered down space sim with BGs, and the DEVs have decided that already. They won't remove BGs but will tweak them in Beta, well if I know first I'm fine with that. It doesn't stop me being dissappointed, but I'm sure there are more gamers that will enjoy instances than not, right? Look at Wow, WAR and AoC BGs and instances increased the player base and made the game more enjoyable right? Yeah that's what I thought when playing in BGs and instances "This is just gay". If I want to PvP in an instance or BG and lose nothing I have BF 2142 or a plethora of better and cheaper games for that purpose. Why buy an MMORPG and pay a sub for a watered down Freelancer server? But hey what the fuck do I know about what people want anyway? I'm just a customer and know what I want and my mates that were going to play this game want, I guess I'm just a member of what did Smedley say again? Ah yes that's it the "Vocal minority", we'll see what course they decide to follow when it launches. / rabid rant end

Hardcore, full loot total PVP? This is not what the majority of people who play MMO's want. That is why games offer both PVE and PVP servers. With all intellect i see here on the boards i would think someone would do a survey of current games and take a look at the server populations of the PVE verses PVP servers and see where the money is being spent. The majority of todays players are adults with real jobs and real families and play games to relax and escape the bullshit of everyday life and to have some 13 yr old, basement dweller gank them and take their geer is not going to keep them paying the monthly fee. In a nut shell, the PVE games do much better profit wise than the PVP oriented games. Just take a peek sometime before going on an immature tirade about what YOU want. |

I agree, but there's no reason ND can't give us both by setting up a full loot PvP server for us basementr dwellers, is there? I'm not really that bothered about full loot or massive death penalties, I'm really worried about BGs as they'll wreck the game wether it's PVE or PvP. In my opinion anyway.

I'm on the fence. I'd pay double retail to have JGE with JGC ruleset. But then again considering the twits that lurk the mmo world toda maybe its better that its consentual pvp. There is just... too ... many..... asswholes |

What about us who want something in-between the two extremes of no loss and loss of everything? Should they make a third server type then? |

Anyways, you've never played it unless you work with it on the development team, being you're too young for a gas station to hire you I really doubt you do. I'm sorry you want to die and loose a couple hundred hours of work, I prefer not to. Now, go back to whatever you were doing and stop trolling these forums. You're wasting my time, your time, and the mod's time with this unconstructive, crap heap of a post.
Thank You,

Its been said before, but something between the two extremes would be nice. How about cargo loss as a penalty? That would be ammunition for the fighter jocks, (Ithink all ammo is in cargo right?) so they lose money and time to replace it. While haulers etc lose the profit they would have made on their cargo and the time to replace it. Personally, I would like to see cargo and bits of ships floating about after I killed something, and be able to salvage it for scrap if nothing else. The "killed" ship would magically reappear at the last station it called in at and be repaired by insurance or something. I agree with a lot of ohers that although Eve's total loss is called hardcore pvp, what it does is force everyone not to engage unless certain of victory OR fly around in junk they don't care about losing. What's the point of working to get a nice ship and fit it out how you want, to then not use it for fear of losing it? No losses at all might create more action, but I feel it will get tired very quick, while the other end of the specrum causes breif vishous battles wth long gaps of sheer boredom in between. ______________ Mark E. Look, if full loot is all you care about, why look past EvE Online? There it is, keep playing it. But don't start these kind of posts. They're pointless and make you look like a moron. "Skill has not cool downed!" |

people tend to be all HC uber PVP ebil pirates in forums, but after they get blown to pieces few times in row, they tend to leave game quietly. See: many HC PvP games/servers. Also JGC. So my stance is wait and see before I start throw carebear around as an insult. If a game has all the features of WoW, its nothing but a WoW clone, but if it lacks any of them, its incomplete. |
