holy crap.. those riding animations are just terrible.

The funny thing is with the video and your comment.  it just shows you haven't played any of the real MMORPGs on the market, and probably have been playing free ones or ones like AO and shadowbane.  Darkfall is just not up to 2008 standards,  the combat is very very boring and basic and the graphics are 6 years old.... and even 6 years ago, the animations would be laughed at.  The cool thing in the movie was though that there was one person actually using magic in combat out of probably 50 people in the fight.  In my week of playing, I never saw a player use magic in combat.. only time I saw it was in cities as they shot spells up into the air.

I mean seriously.. look at the riding animation again.

I got to accept DF is looking like a very interesting game for massive battles,  pretty amazing what you can see in the video.

To above poster: we all know about the bad animations, for months.

They made DF so that you are going to kill your guild mates and group members by mistake. You will also go rogue in large battles as well. One of the reasons why not to many people use magic in DF. This is one reason why DF is so very carebear and Shadowbane is still 100% more hardcore. Everyone in DF is such a bad ass but yet they all fear PvP without having restrictions to hide behind, this is why they are playing DF. If they were hardcore bad asses, they would be playing Shadowbane. Darkfall and Shadowbane have about the same graphics.

WoWs riding animations are much better. To bad you cant fight when mounted, or make the mount fight. Or kill someone elses mount or steal it for that matter.  All those years mounted in WoW, i cant think what the point was with the mounts in WoW. You could not do anything with them.  I have not tryed LOTRO, is it the same there.

AoC was fun but i didnt get a mount there either.

So i think the battle looks really interesting. Atleast compared with the games i have played.

Horrible animations aside it looked pretty good, however what the heck were they a attacking eachother with? nerf bats? Seems like the only person that died in that siege was the person recording the video and even that took 10 minutes of him getting beat.

I do have common sense thank you. I'm not the once calling people trolls because i don't agree with their opinions.

The White Border is a bit of fun and alot of people including Darkfall supporters even posted and had a laugh in the thread created.

I actually think Darkfall looks alright and the video of the fight doesn't look too bad aswell.

The guy just wasent that good at pvp, not finishing off people he attacked and changing targets all the time. He was a self admitted newb in PVP battles tho

I think the reason he was called a troll is because he made a generalized statement without any intention to actually substantiate proof. Perhaps he owned a N64, perhaps not. It really doesn't matter at this point because there was no intention to actually prove that he was telling the truth. The point of his statement was to ridicule.

Next time, it would be simpler to just google n64 and look at a list of games, then coming up with an idea of which game or games he was referring to for his premise.

The funny thing about his N64 post was that I was trying to recall my days of playing "Link: The Legend of Zelda" and comparing it to screenshots and video of Darkfall. That Mario 64 game was pretty good graphics, as well (at least for its time). Without having played Darkfall, I don't have the right to honestly degrade it. But it does make me wonder...

seen a few vids covering that battle now, that one was prob the best so far, especially the cavalry charge. videos don't do justice to how much of an adrenaline rush the battles are though when you're playing.

bear in mind this is less than 2 weeks after release and already there's mass battles & sieges, mounts with cavalry charges, etc.

darkfall is awesome.

you must be new here. mmorpg.com doesn't do conversation or debate, it's ALL about the trolling. if anyone forms an opinion about a game from these forums they're a total moron.

the combat is bad? no i don't think so its just a personal feelings, i do consider it as fact ! 

- You can see how its near imposible to hit someone from horse

- Guys did try to do some line formations but they understand its not good at all so it became standart DF circle runing

Why the fak it have to be like this, im not alone who dislike DF combat,  but is pre-tram/priviate UO/SB/M&B fan.
