The AMD processor "clock interrupt" blue screen of death error? That being the reason I quit shortly after the game was released, since I couldn't play. Anyone with a quad core AMD processor who can play this game smoothly with no crashes? |

I had no problems playing with a amd quad core. |

Overall performence is great now, so i am pretty sure you can play smoothly now ;) ------------------------------

I'm running AMD Phenom 9950 Quad-Core and since returning in late November I don't think I have ever blue screened running AoC. I've been running Vista x64 since its release so I don't know if it is OS related on your end? I did crash a lot with their sloppy horrible fileplanet open beta but I don't think I ever blue screened. If you quit because of that and had a past account use one of your buddy keys to send to an alternate email address and try to run the game on a trial account to see if it is fixed for you. .. .... .- - . - .-. --- .-.. .-.. ... .-- .... --- .-. . .--. --- .-. - .-.-.- Playing: AoC, LOTRO, STO, Champions Online |

Yes it seems that problem with the AMD users is gone now, i know a lot of people quit because of it so i just revisitied the game and seems fine now on full texture/shadow/effects. The incompitence bug still isnt fix as every weekly update still needs a 'hotfix' to sort out all the new problems with the update.....still waiting to go back and see if its 'normal' again. That was the main issue with this game the dam instability of the game after every weekly update. |

Yeh Intel would be the way to go but I made a new rig for AoC and I will be dammed if I make another one:) |

Only friend of min with a decent rig that had real problems uses AMD, after lot of frustration cause of this i found out that AOC is not the only game to have problems with AMD multicore CPUs, AMD had a synch problem that affects many of the newer, visually demanding games, like Crysis and AoC, and have patches to fix this issues (AMD)
I am glad i picked Intel. |
